It did end up getting resolved, i guess he went on a business trip and didn't get back for a day. It somewhat ended up on a low note still, because apparently despite the fact that I put the card straight from the pack into a sleeve, it got a scratch on it and he had wanted it to be "mint" so i got penalized some points on it. Oh well, i still got my value out of it.
Here's my latest PucaTrade story: I had received an MP, bent card (~100 point uncommon) and immediately opened a case, alerted an admin, and sent a note asking the sender for a full refund. The sender responded a day or two later gifting me the value of the points saying he didn't want to go through a case. Now I'm wondering since he gifted me the points and didn't want to go through with the case, was he trying to circumvent the resolution process, and potentially avoid the admins noticing this behavior? I did receive the points, and the only thing I thought to do was to accept the trade. Does this seem sketchy to anyone else, or just another way to resolve a case?

I would accept the points and move on with my life. It was a 100 point uncommon. Mistakes happen, I know I have packaged singles in low light while watching a show on my computer & not noticed a ding, or a scratch, or a scuffed edge. If I see a card's SP and it's under 300 points, I don't bother calling them out on it. What's the use? To bring them to justice based on principle? C'mon, by doing that an individual can actually get his/her account closed down, causing a loss of potentially hundreds of dollars- over what, a sense of judgement I feel needs to be doled out.
He/she made the effort to give all of the points back for a SP card. Don't make a case out of it, unless someone is being a jerk, ignoring you, or has broken a major rule (no, cussing/expletives should not be considered a major rule since they have admitted to me that they need a tiered system - let the punishment fit the crime, right [we don't execute {or even cut off the hand} thieves in this country, do we? Other countries treat the theft of an apple the same as the theft of a military hand gun]).

Wow. The guy quickly and efficiently gives you a full refund, you get to keep the card, and you're worried about him being sketchy? Even if he was, who cares? You got a free card - you're out nothing. I wish everyone who sent me crappy cards resolved the issue in this manner.

Any Puca trades you can send me would be greatly appreciated! Big want list and lots of points available.
It's a legitimate concern. He got his problem resolved right away, sure, but is worried that this might be a ploy to cover up sketchy behavior and is looking out for the interests of other traders on the site. Bravo to him for asking the question.
Unfortunately I don't think there's any real way to know whether this is an upstanding citizen being proactive in resolving issues, or someone who makes a habit of sending garbage cards and has devised a scheme to keep from attracting admin attention for too many complaints.
I sent out an expedition steam vents on Sunday so I know that one has been up since at least then.
I always send non machinable but it ends up being 71 cents per trade. Has anyone tried to just send as normal mail with a hard sleeve to avoid the extra 20something cents for the non machinable add on? When trying to send out 2 dollars every bit matters.
OK, this really bothers me that someone has added 52 Force of Wills to their "wants" list. I know that any given moment when he doesn't have the points, another who does have the points is getting shipped to them, but I do think it's incredibly selfish to "hog" the FoW's. If the member had 8 on his/her list, it would be more acceptable... but 52???? C'mon [somehow this feels like the childhood taunt when another was at the water fountain too long & you would snarkly say "Save some water for the whales..."]
I guess, while we're hovering near this topic, what does the community think/feel about brick n' mortar stores fulfilling their customer's card requests by requesting singles off of Puca Trade? Have the stores, in a sense, invaded the casual players online realm of trading value-for-value?
(I am, by no means, ranting or venting. I have no positive or negative opinion if stores want to find stock this way. This is more or less to gauge what everyone else thinks)
I guess I find it pretty annoying. I'm trying to trade for a Sylvan Library and a LotV and even with an offered trade bonus am finding it hard to get bites.

I fail to see how this would be a bad thing. Increased liquidity, and there are still no overhead charges associated with using the site. Seems like a win-win.
If that guy does want to build up 10000 points per FoW then he deserves them. That's how the system works. The card isn't reserved, Wizards prints product all the time, only a matter of time before they cash in on $100 cardboard.
If you want any sort of seldom sent card then offering a bonus is the only way to speed up the process. If that doesn't work then you say you'll accept SP. If that doesn't work unfortunately you'll have to go pay real money but the good news is in that case you've already confirmed the card you want isn't being given up by those that already have them and you're probably getting a bargain.
I recently paid for Silver so I could block out overseas people from matching my wants within seconds then sending 4 days later and me not seeing a card for 5 weeks. It was really starting to annoy me to say the least. Just not acceptable when getting new cards you want to play with. I spent all my points on BFZ cards and Aussies sent them all before Friday. Top notch service by traders here I say.

Many magic players have no interest in doing trades via mail. I can't see how having a store acquiring and sending cards on Puca a bad thing. The more the merrier.

While the user has 12000 points or however many it is for a FoW now... yes, stupid. What are you trying to do? Be the only name in the list that the guy about to trade a Force can even see? At this point, I imagine there's only one place on the planet where there are 52+ Forces in a single location, and that would be WotC's vault.
While they're under 12000 points, however... well, that's just point-and-laugh material.

This one I don't mind so much, particuarly if the stores are at silver/gold level. If I was an awesome LGS owner, and I was getting requests from my frequent customers for hard-to-find cards, it would be a great thing to do, especially given that not everyone can afford to fork out for constant silver/gold membership. Imagine holding a draft every week in an area full of students, and then letting them trade out the bombs from their drafts for promo foils and stuff like that, if you're able to source them from Puca? Good luck to them, I say (so long as they use it for good, and don't turn into a StarCity-style behemoth).
I've had that happen once or twice. Usually it's been folks that I've had favorable trades with in the past, and they're having a rough time locating a particular card so they're trying a shot in the dark. Almost always a foreign trader since they have a rougher time in general compared to domestic trades.
At this point, I imagine there's only one place on the planet where there are 52+ Forces in a single location,
I am not a store, and I don't consider myself a big trader.. but I had 30+ FoW at one point. I imagine a vendor at a big GP could easily get 50 at a big GP.
I've been having a hardtime finding buyers for some of the new BFZ stuff I want to get rid of. The funny thing is I've been on there at least 20 times and I can't even find someone that has a smoldering marsh on their want list...and it's number 4 in trending. Is this typical or is the site dominated by a few big traders that fill most of the trades?
If so maybe I'll just use it for buying singles here and there forget the trading my own cards portion.

Standard cards in large supply get matched in under 5 seconds. It's just the reality of the site.
The dibs system was supposed to help with this but hasn't been seen yet.

Looks like they're up now. I was able to add an Expedition card as a test to my haves list, and a match came up when I looked at the Wants screen.

New sets get traded really fast, even faster then other cards do.
look after 10-11 at night and 6-8 am and its a bit easier to get trades
theres one person who wants smoldering marsh right now
Helpful hint
if you click into the card, a list comes up with whomever wants it
