So I'm vacationing in Hong Kong and saw some chinese packs of old sets (invasion, coldsnap, alara reborn etc.) being sold for 20 to 25 HKD each (about 3 dollars US). Should I grab a few?

Coldsnap has, at this point, some cards that are certainly worth chasing. ARB has some nice cards but nothing really backbreaking, and Invasion, while I loved drafting it, is a set without money cards. That said, if you do manage to get a foil you could get a quite nice one - Invasion foils were not printed in Chinese, for some reason instead English ones were put into the Chinese packs. Combine that with the fact that two arts had to be changed, and "Chinese" foil Soul Burn and Urborg Skeleton are actually quite valuable. So if you feel like playing the foil lottery, buy Invasion. I'd probably buy Coldsnap regardless, and pass on ARB unless your collection is light on ARB.
