Yeah. I've kinda had an itch against Sam since that whole ordeal with him on Elves against that Nic Fit player sometime last year. Game one shens, I think. I know it's this game though.
Also, I can't wait until Snapcaster hits forty-five dollars. I'm going to trade all of mine in for a Tarmogoyf. Then, when the shocks jump in price, I'll trade all of those for another Tarmogoyf. I want a new deck. :|
Ah yes, I remember that incident. I wasn't sure if that was the issue or not so I figured I would ask.
I will probably never own a set of Tarmogoyfs and I have basically just accepted it at this point.
It's a diffct thing to do. I know that if I want to play with him in Legacy, whatever deck it is is going to cost even more because of the rest of the staples.
Argh, so frustrated. We got more snow last night, and while it was only two inches, it turned out to be the last bit that I needed to narrow my driveway just enough (and I hit a slippery patch at just the wrong time) that I slid into the (meter-plus high) snowbank and had to spend 45 minutes digging out, ripping my pants clean in half in the process (I'm not short, and had to bend my legs in ways that put too much strain on them).
So now I'm late for work, covered in all sorts of grime (cat litter, wood splinters, and dirt), and minus one pair of pants.
At least it was in my own driveway, so I could go inside and change.

Did you have any particular deck in mind, the easiest port from the deck you are switching from seems to be Jund from a staples perspective (unfortunately featuring Goyf), however, "Red Death" has gotten some renewed interest as of late on The Source and may be something you could look into. Probably a Tier 2 strategy at best but definitely interesting: http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?5631-Deck-Red-Death/page23
Also, Sparki will be thrilled to see Lands make it into DTB on Source this update.

I saw Red Death and it looks to be an interesting deck, but youre right in thinking its tier two at best and I don't have an interest in another deck that isn't powerful. I have been leaning towards Jund. I'm not entirely sure if that's a way I'm going to go either. I need to acquire Wasteland as well. I think I will eventually build Shardless BUG. I think before I spend more money on cards, my money really needs to, and will, go towards having a successful move into my own place. Whatever I have in my trade binders will go towards Tarmogoyf and Wasteland and nothing more until then.
Lands is an incredibly powerful deck and I'm surprised it's taken so long to get there.
I'm approximately 4 Tarmogoyfs and 2 Bobs (and maybe 1 more Grove) away from Legacy Jund, but I just can't justify dropping 1000 bucks on those last half-dozen cards.
I could play Scavenging Ooze as a replacement, which in all honesty, isn't the worst change I could make to the deck. I've always thought that Scavenging Ooze was a worthwhile replacement that does most of what Goyf does.

Man, I forgot about Grove. I guess I wouldn't be playing Punishing Jund. The problem I found with using Scooze as a replacement for Goyf is that he can be responded to and is a mana sink, through and through. The life gain is great, but the investment isn't an equal pay out which it really needs to be.

Plus, Jund isn't really the best positioned deck at the moment either. Shardless would probably be better in current metas anyway, but you know how those things can shift as well.

Edit: I forgot that I also broke a shovel.
Being in Australia (and a long way from snow), I grew up thinking it was a pretty cool thing when it snowed.
Once I finally experienced it for real, I think I lasted about 10mins and began thinking "Actually, you know what? This is just annoying. Snow actually sucks".
Stay safe, you guys! Some impressive pictures in the news of late down here (particularly from Boston, for those of you up that way).

Yeah, that's very true. It seems that whatever cool deck I want to play, just ends up sucking by the time I can get to it lol.
Man I got a problem. I basically found 1 deck I really like in each format and then foil them out completely. Koz EDH (80-90% foiled), Legacy Reanimator (a work in process) and Modern (G/R Tron) (also a work in process). I figured if Im gonig to play these decks to death I might as well make them amazing. However... this makes magic very expensive. =/
Yes it is a first world problem. Thing is I hate lugging around multiple decks. I have a deck for each format I like and play them to death. Not like I ever get bored of my decks in the first place. Also this might be a random question, but how often do you guys change your sleeves for your decks? Im thinking I should be swapping the sleeves for my EDH decks because those sleeves are getting kinda grimy. Also the perfect sleeves. How often do you change those?

I change my sleeves whenever they get nasty looking. I have all of my decks in one type of sleeve though, and they get passed on to decks I rarely play. If you like the decks, I see no problem is foiling the core parts of the deck. The optional(cards that come in and out of the deck as the meta shifts) I wouldn't foil. Kind of why I don't want to get cards altered any more is because I take too much time getting it done and then I leave the deck.
Should I trade my play set of Snapcasters and get all the fetches I can get for them, or just put them into a Tarmogoyf? I'm thinking long term interests. I will probably never use Goyf and it'll sit in a binder collecting dust. Same goes for fetches. I'm talking Khan fetches and a year or more.
I'd like to be reasonably competitive, but I'm also not super proficient running decks that aren't Birthing Pod, which basically means all of them.
I mean, I'm putting 'Folk together because I already had the Caverns, 2 of the Mutavaults, and the Vials, which are the most expensive pieces, and I've picked up the other essential pieces (Masters, Lords, and Silvergills) in the last two weeks via PucaTrade.
Alternately, I could start putting together Daxos Tiny Leaders, but heaven knows I'd feel dirty putting an EDH deck together, even if it is a substantially different variant.

What's wrong with EDH? I think you're just putting things together because you have them lying around, lol. A similar problem I have with cards just sitting in my binder and I'll probably never get around to using. My basic philosophy when it comes to items is that it needs a use. If it has none, it must be converted, or thrown.
It's R/G lands on the source. Still lands, but they have RUG and R/G separated in two different threads. R/G seems to have more high placing finishes, probably because more people play it over the RUG version.

It just seems like a money sink and I'd rather spend my store credit and PucaPoints on dual lands, I guess. Figured that my top priority really should be to finally finish my playset of dual lands (assuming a trade I'm working on goes through, I should be up to 32 duals by the end of next week.)

I had been considering putting Merfolk together too, but I am cheap and I didn't want to get the lands. The rest I have most of already (including Vial) and I have FoW and TNN to port it to Legacy also.
Anyone see Mutavault or Cavern coming down anytime soon? Do you guys see the potential for Mutavault to be in MM2015?

Cavern, no, it's out of bounds (Innistrad block isn't going to be reprinted), but Mutavault would be a pretty perfect land for a Modern Masters set.

Along with many mods, I've moved shop over to MTGNexus. Come check us out!
Mutavault just left Standard four months ago; it's at its low point. Cavern doesn't really have a good opportunity to be reprinted - there's no oppressive counterspell in the format, and we're not really in a multi-tribal block. Yes, the next set will have plenty of Dragons, but I expect another poor card a la Crucible of the Spirit Dragon rather than a card that is useful in multiple tribes.
I'd say the likelihood that either is reprinted is very low.

I agree with you, and that is what I was afraid of. I would be surprised if Mutavault gets brought into Standard again, at least in the foreseeable future. It seemed to basically get slotted into everything when it was last Standard legal and I don't think WotC cares for that much. I also forgot that Cavern isn't even eligible for Modern Masters this year, totally spaced on the fact that it was from AVR.
