If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
i dont think i will be able to afford a box or two of RtR to put back till my birthday due to bills and everything. my bday is oct. 21st. you guys think boxes will increase by then? a little over 2 weeks

It will increase by then, because of the news about being out of print getting into everyone ears and attention..

It can only go down, Hero's Downfall is just better.
I kind of doubt that. Dreadbore was under $2, and in B/R midrange, not only does Dreadbore come down sooner, for those Smitters, it is way easier to cast for a deck that plays Anger of the gods.
Hi
Just getting into speccing.
Angel of Serenity is at an all-time low of $6.
Is it worth going big into it?
Also,Lotleth Troll is still at $2.
Will it see play in Standard?
As far as spec targets go - there's some consideration to be had on these:
Angel of Serenity - Go to card for reanimator or possibly ramp if either happens, Angel appeal, currently very low and out of print - trajectory should only be up from here
Other cards which seem criminally undervalued and should certainly rise some:
Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius
Aurelia, the Warleader
Prime Speaker Zegana
Legion's Initiative
I picked up a playset of prime speaker zegana because why not ($2 a copy is a small investment.) Angel of serenity is another one that could potentially go up quite a bit if certain conditions are met now that RTR is out of print and it being a mythic helps a lot.
Dreadbore isn't strictly superior or inferior to hero's downfall due to being cmc 2 versus 3 that being said it is more restrictive in terms of what decks want it while hero's downfall can be played in most decks with black despite costing 1BB. I have dumped all my copies personally.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Angel of Serenity - Yes, I do think it's potentially due for a rise. Depends mainly on the metagame of course. Control seems to be on the upswing. Supply is steady and not going anywhere but down, so if the card gets popular again (it has been $30 in the past) it could definitely shoot up.
Dreadbore - Heavily obsoleted by Hero's Downfall. Even some Rakdos builds will favour the monoblack choice. Being an Instant is huge as it allows you to wait and see what Planeswalkers/creatures they drop on their turn before you decide what to kill. I don't think Dreadbore is a dead card but I certainly wouldn't put any money into it unless it really bottoms out at $1 or something.
Lotleth Troll - I can't see it dropping from the current price of $2, it's just too efficient and synergystic with other popular/powerful cards. I may be biased because I love golgari, love creatures, love trample and regenerating, love discarding and +1/+1 counters.... basically the card was made for me. Slap a Rancor on there and away we go! But putting my love for the card aside, I can see it doing absolutely nothing for the next year to be honest. Players are fickle, they sometimes don't go after the good cards, they go after the flashy/new/cool cards.... so it might go through Standard without really ever doing anything. That said, the supply is going nowhere but down, so if it sees any play, it could appreciate.
Angel of Serenity is useless against U/Wx and RDW. Also does nothing against Bloodbaraon and Obzedat. As such it has no place in the current meta thus justifying its current price. I would think about picking it up a year from now as a long term EDH/Casual Spec Target.
I could see troll going up. It works well with whip of erebos, but that's not really saying much.
I don't think Dreadbore is dead. There is a difference between 2 mana and 3 mana, and being able to kill planeswalkers at instant speed isn't always relevant. Not to mention that double black isn't always managable in a 3 color deck (jund, grixis, dega)
Angel of Serenity is useless against U/Wx and RDW. Also does nothing against Bloodbaraon and Obzedat. As such it has no place in the current meta..
Surely you can imagine other cards that also fall into the categories "not good against creatureless decks" and "Blood Baron of Vizkopa has protection from it" categories but are still playable...?
You could very well be right that Angel or Serenity won't do much over the next year, but definitely not for the reason given.
It would be interesting to see what everyone thinks the price will be this time next year. What are everyone's thoughts? $150 seems reasonable no?
I dunno...what's playable in other formats besides standard? DRS, Abrupt Decay, Counterflux, shocklands....unless these cards radically spike in value, I don't see RTR rising until much later. Innistrad is pricey because of Lilli and Snap and Geist...I don't see the analogues in RTR because although it has great cards, the value isn't apparent to the general public yet.

Counterflux? Help me understand why that's included on the list, please. I think this is the first time I've heard it mentioned since the spoiler came out, and a quick check shows that it's a junk bin rare.
Ash Zealot and Loxodon Smiter are now solid $5+ cards.

I threw Counterflux in there as an example of an eternal format card that is worth almost nothing, compared to expensive cards from Innistrad. You've said yourself that Sphinx's Rev is a junk bin mythic after it rotates. JAoT will be $5 after rotation. DRS, Abrupt Decay and shocks aren't going to prop up the whole set by itself...I think. But it's just my opinion.

tldr $150 in 2 years, not in a few months.
I don't think anyone was thinking $150 in a few months..? I don't see how boxes could be worth less than $100 that you can get them at now though. I think the whole point was to buy them now as R_E stated that it is officially OOP and when that hits the public the price may start to move upward is all. I had just thrown out a guess of $150 within a year and was looking for feedback.

I'm just looking at Innistrad, where the box price soared when it was announced it was out of print. In a year, I don't see these at $150. I see these at $120, if that. Not a great return, especially because it's harder to move unopened boxes and shipping costs are prohibitive.
is there enough value in the set to open boxes at $90-100? my local shop has 2 and i'd like to buy them and hold onto them but even though i don't need anything in the set, i will have to restrain myself from opening them. rtr is such a fun and awesome set. i really wanna buy both boxes before they get gone

Even if there is enough value to do so (estimates vary, but the consensus seems to be that box value is around $100), it's definitely worth it to hold the box unopened for six months to a year and sell it sealed; I wouldn't be surprised if you could get $150 selling the box next summer when it gets hard to find sealed boxes; there are lots of multi-format staples, and even more so, it was regarded as an above-average set to draft.

The card's most recent move is on right. means no movement. is a card that wasn't on the list last update. This is the update's hottest mover. (#) is price in CND incl. shipping here.
No cards moved above or below the $3 threshold this update, so there are still 27 cards worth opening in a booster pack - and on the tally. And thanks to the site's moderators, we can now enjoy the tally on a single post again - thank you Galspanic and friends
Jace remains in first spot as his price consolidates after the recent move up. Will he continue to move up after the tournaments this weekend? Revelation is close behind and in fact it's tough to figure out which should be priced higher right now. I'll keep a close eye on them. Deathrite Shaman's still in 3rd and I've set it at 20 CND (shipped) on my site, but you can still get them in the mid to high teens elsewhere. I'm just not willing to let mine go for less because I'm quite confident I won't have to wait long at 20. The shocklands are still in the 12 to 13 range but unless a stronger dual land cycle gets printed (you never know, it COULD happen...) that will creep to 15 and above soon. If they aren't reprinted, that will probably go to 25 and beyond over the next few years. It's nice to see another rare, Abrupt Decay, in the top 10 as well. As people have pointed out, it's not just Standard playable (by a longshot) so the value will just keep creeping up over time.
Desecration Demon edged higher, above Angel of Serenity and Vraska which held steady. Supreme Verdict has really established itself as a chase card recently, now up to $7 and there's room to grow should control decks take hold over the course of the current block. Smiter, Mortars, Zealot and Sphere all looked strong. Dreadbore and Niv-Mizzet looked soggy.
Looks like RTR is now competing with Theros for highest box value in Standard! The main difference between the two is RTR is on the way up, as it is now going out of print all over the place. (Feel free to chip in your local info if you've got any!) Theros on the other hand has still yet to hit its supply peak, so as a whole is likely to lose value before it starts gaining it.
Another 4 Jace (and 3 Revelation) main board. Perhaps decks like this were already predicted and therefore partially priced-in, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Jace and Revelation continue to push upward.

Thanks for the head-ups RE, time to look at revaluing my Jaces and Revelations .
Jace AOT is a standard-only card. As such, his value would plummet not long after the duel deck printing anyway. His price tag is entirely reflective of people wanting to play him right now, not in 6 months. I don't see the duel deck having any impact.
Also, the art looks like a child barfed on a paint-by-numbers. As someone who is normally thrilled to play "bad art" if it means I can get a staple at a discount, I'd never touch this version.
Jace will tank even harder when rotation comes. As for affecting the price, it will lower the price (happened with sorin, lord of innistrad too having his price sliced in half and then lower come rotation.) Luckily the product doesn't come out for quite a while/jace in the meantime is free to go wherever supply and demand takes him.
