It looks like Elspeth Tirel is on the move up! (at least on ebay)
$15-16 each seems to be the current completed sales rate.
Lowest Buy It Now rate is $17 shipping included
The foils seem to be pretty scarce too. As of this post, only 15 total on ebay
Only 2 sellers have a playset available
$31 shipped is the cheapest.
Not a single seller (so far) has a full playset available (interesting...)
What is the ceiling for Regular -$20? and for the Foil --$40? Discuss
Here's the payoff for anyone who was wise enough to invest in lands! Elspeth finally makes some major gains. Everything else is generally stable, thought SoBaM has gained a little bit since its low of $6-7.
Any idea if I should be getting Mox Opals now or wait or does it make any difference? I need them for a few legacy and modern decks and wanted to know if it would be better to buy now or later.
Koth keeps dropping lower and lower and sadly he was the chase card in this set.
Thanks to SCG's hype machine. Sometimes I want to freaking shake those guys. People go from saying "those guys are overpriced" to suddenly treating them like that same overpriced mentality should cause them to adjust prices dramatically.
WHere is the line?
Provide evidence for this instead of bashing SCG for bashing SCG's sake. Troll warning issued.

The card will certainly drop in price after rotation, but people will continue to hold on to them simply because it's a mox. If you can get your hands on it, and you want it, I would pick it up. Where it drops to is a huge guess, I think $13 because that is what I saw it at one point. The only standard deck that runs it at the moment is Tempered Steel.
Elspeth Tirel is now over $20. SCG is currently the cheapest AT $20. Never thought I would ever say that. Explosion due to tokens being tier 1/1.5 in std right now

nice! Seems to be true on ebay as well (~$18 plus shipping)
Im surprised the FOILS are still only ~$30 and haven't really been jumping. the pimp market is too narrow? (I'm waiting to cash out on my foil set and am getting impatient lol)
gfd, i guess you gotta give it more time, speculative buyers move faster than pimped buyers, but as soon as the big shops adjust their price, itll go back to its x2 multiple. just let ur gains mature if u got the time
Okay, time to get back on track, regular updates to follow from here on:
As always my prices are generally determined by average ebay completed listings, lowest end of ebay buy it nows, and occasionally some cross referencing with the lowest end of online stores.
Elspeth Tirel: $20
Mox Opal: $18
Koth of the Hammer: $15
Wurmcoil Engine: $15
Venser the Sojourner: $12
Seachrome Coast: $11
Sword of Body and Mind: $10
Skithiryx: $9
Darkslick Shores: $8
Razorverge Thicket: $7
Copperline Gorge: $5
Tempered Steel: $4
Blackcleave Cliffs: $4
Ratchet Bomb: $3.50
Etched Champion: $2.50
Molten-Tail Masticore: $2
Lux Cannon: $1.50
Geth, Lord of the Vault: $1.50
Mimic Vat: $1.50
Platinum Emperion: $1.50
Asceticism: $1.50
Everything else is $1 or less.
Total value of mythics: $115
Total value of rares: $64
Total value of a common/uncommon set: $6
Total set value: $185
Average Box Value:
Mythics: $34.50
Rares: $38
Uncommon/Common: $10.80
Foils: $4.70 average/box
Total Box value: $88
Average Pack Value: $2.45
Similar to Scars, we saw a HUGE gain this time around for Scars. Post-rotation was very kind to the set, and instead of being a set of poor value, its rocketed back up to the reasonable value territory. I want to note something for posterity. This is the first time that I can remember where ALL of the standard-legal sets's box values were good ($85+). For scars we saw the unprescedented rise of the scars duals. Not to mention the mythics giving us some terrific jumps in cards like Elspeth (tokens), Skithiryx (Mono Black Infect), and Wurmcoil Engine (control/etc/just a plain good card?). With this set also going OOP soon, it should be interesting to see what this set does as well as far as values go. It still has a long time in standard, and anything playable in it has the potential to rise if the block continues to support the strategies that have helped some of the cards increase in value.
Anyhow, enjoy the update, and Ill post new updates weekly.
I've got an opinion quest for you all. What would it take for the lower end Scars Dual Lands to go up in value closer to Seachrome Coast?
Obviously blue white is huge in the meta. Coasts are hovering at $13-15.
But what about Copperline Gorge ? Wolf Run Red has been arounds for a looong time now and the Gorges are only $7 ish. Now Wolf Run continues to net attention and wins and Huntmaster of the Fells is the new hot mythic.
I'm curious because I traded for a Foil Copperline Gorge thinking it would be worth at least $12-15 only to find out they only go for $8-10. How long would you wait before selling it?
As far as I can tell, the key question to ask about a dual is:
Does this land produce blue mana?
If it does, you're in good shape. If not, it might be a good land, but it probably won't be worth what a blue dual is worth.
Top ABU Duals:
1) Underground Sea
2) Tundra
3) Tropical Island
4) Volcanic Island
5-10) NOT BLUE
Top fetches:
1) Polluted Delta
2) Flooded Strand
3-5) Onslaught fetches that are NOT BLUE
6) Misty Rainforest
7) Scalding Tarn
8-10) Zendikar fetches that are NOT BLUE
Shocks are a lil' different because of the prevalence of Modern decks like Zoo that run G/R...Stomping Ground is a tad higher than Watery Grave, for example, so it's not unheard of for a non-blue land to gain some value, but you need a lot of viable decks to need those colors before it'll happen

The primary reason for price differences on the shocks is that they're from different sets.
