Title says it all. Another member on here and myself are thinking about making this trade (My titans). Just curious about the thoughts of the community.
Apathy has the Titans about $11 higher than the Tutor.
In summation.....Star Trek wins a prolonged naval battle against superior, yet less technologically advanced, numbers, with Picard leading the assault, while Kirk takes your soul by laying out Solo and probably his manservant Chewy as well, before impregnating and ditching your Princess.
If you don't need the titans trade. I've never even seen a grim tutor around here O.o
Titans seem to be dropping too, so you could wait and have them drop even further, or trade and see them potentially rise in price. That being said, even if you are trading up, there's good demand for titans, so getting the last $10 even if you are trading up shouldn't be impossible (ask for a fetch or something).

Hey, lolis with katanas are awesome, and I don't care about their home country.
In the present short-term (~2 weeks), your partner is ahead on value on a commodity that is likely to deflate. Then couple this with higher demand for new Scars cards, the lower likelihood of Primeval Titan maintaining its value, the off-season status of Standard, lack of value retention on the Titan knowing it is not a staple of any older formats... The Tutor, on the other hand, is a commodity that holds value and is a safe nest egg.
You are also trading Standard cards for Eternal ones.
Thanks for all the feedback. We did go ahead with the trade and I would speculate that we are both happy with it. He said he opened the 99 Starter himself and never used the Tutor, so he is certainly getting a nice return on investment. I always like to trade up as it opens up avenues for further up-trading into things like Moxen. Appreciate the input.

Not sure if you are going to read this but thought I would throw my take up here. I have been playing MTG since Revised/Legends. I have a lot of my old cards and really care more about long term value than today's market. So, I did trade for the Tutor. I was using the Titans in a deck and I will probably never play with the tutor, but I try to make these kind of trades whenever possible. I havent invested much money in playing MTG over the years, but I have spent a lot of time trading. Check out my trade list and you will see that I have put together a pretty nice collection over the years by making these kind of deals. Just wanted to throw my .02 out there because I certainly see the other side.

Tutors actually see play in eternal formats and should not go down in value barring a reprint. Titans will drop as soon as they rotate. Good trade for you.
Tutor sees almost no play anywhere. It sees occasional Vintage play as a singleton. It's played in one deck, as a one-of. It sees a very tiny bit of Legacy play as a 2-of. It's totally awful. Compare it to Primeval Titan, which is one of the stars of Type 2. I mean, if your heart is set on Grim Tutor, go for it, but the correct play here, dollarwise and playability-wise, is the Titans.
As far as long-term value is concerned, Grim Tutor has no reason to stay high except inertia, and could easily be reprinted at any time.

This (especially the part in bold).
Grim Tutor is one of those high value, low demand sort of cards. Sure it commands a nice price tag, but even people who know its value aren't gunning for them, and no one would ever trade down for one (unless you find a sucker, which is unlikely if they're interested in the Tutor in the first place).
Seems like a lot of people have prematurely hopped off the Primeval bandwagon as if it's just some fad deck, despite the fact that all of its pieces are still in place. SoM has printed some nasty hate, but will the decks that can run them have room for them, and does Ramp have enough answers for said hate? I think it does, personally (and can get better if Koth fits). I also think whether Ramp fades out or not, PT will still see play because it's the best piece of card advantage ever printed on a 6/6 stick for six.

If I just wanted tradebait, I'd hold on to the Titans.
