"...because without beer, things do not seem to go as well."
Since I've seen it mentioned in multiple threads like this and as a regular customer there myself, I'll add http://coolstuffinc.com to the list.
It doesn't have everything, but it has a good number of sealed product and also has good prices for singles. It has a built-in rewards system for returning customers which is a nice impetus for continued support.
Although it is widely regarded as a "spike" environment, 401 Games on Yonge St in Toronto has the best price on draft sets throughout the year. The store used to get foreign Magic packs as part of a premier promo, but never overcharged for the foreign Magic - a great boon to legacy and vintage players who like to pimp out their decks.
Another good place to get cards is Legends Comics & Games in Towson, MD. Although their singles are high, you can get a 10% discount on any other product, just for playing in the store. So go on Sunday mornings, play standard, get 10% off any packs or boxes you decide to buy.
Last but not least, Walt's Cards in Dundalk will special order stuff for you if you get the preorders in with plenty of time. Russian 9th? No problem. Also a great place to get Yugioh stuff cheap.
I tend to purchase my cheapie singles from www.adventuresON.com. Very reasonable prices on dollar rares and commons, and shipping is only $0.60-1.00 for the first batch of cards.
www.cardshark.com is a good aggregator, if you want higher-cost singles. Unfortunately, you have to buy on a card-by-card basis, which means you can end up paying shipping multiple times over.
For chase cards, I tend to go with cardshark, ebay or trade boards.
I almost always use Blackborder (which is adventuresON) for my singles. Their prices aren't the best, but are normally very competitive. The main thing for me is that they have cheap shipping (often free), and very good service (for example, when they can't find the card you need. This has happened to me twice. The first time they gave me credit to 150% the value of the card. The second they gave me foil ones for no extra cost). magicinferno is also good at times, because you can pick up some crazy good deals on some cards there. But they don't do older cards at all, which is annoying.
Scifi world (West of Steeles/Dufferin, north side of Steeles, Google Maps)
It's a pretty good place to buy cards are those tend to the cheapest of a lot of things. Though the biggest downside is their cards do tend to sell out and they must really hate dragons because Sarkhan Vol is priced at $35!
Two Head Dragon (Slightly south of North York station, East on Yonge, Google Maps)
They have a pretty good play area and base their prices off Starcitygames.com (meaning a $5 rare on SCG is $5 CAD when you buy it). The first few times you go to visit, just remember to look up at the 2nd floor of the buildings when you are looking for this place. Don't make my mistake and walk by it and getting lost.
PS: Buying commons/uncommons can be a pain as you may have to search through through a box if what you want isn't in a binder.
401 Games (South of College station and on the east side of Yonge, Google Maps)
This place is kinda cramped and tend to have the cheapest prices for downtown Toronto. They have a small play area on the first floor which is two tables and the main play area on the top floor. The biggest downside is the main play area can sometimes smell (The term "nerdsweat" was coined to accurately describe it to someone who has never been there and Yugi-Oh players(like a tumour, takes up space but benign). Other than that little bit, it's a good place to do some trading). Also, take a look at the card quality when you do buy as when players do trade ins, they can bend or cause small scratches on the cards. Nitpick about the little things and you can get a discount.
Hairy Tarantula (south of 401, westside of Yonge. Look for a sign with a tarantula eating Spiderman and a door leading to the 2nd floor, Google Maps)
The other place in downtown to get Magic cards, they also have mange and DnD stuff as well. If you find the prices at 401 tend to be a little higher than you'd like, then go here and check if it's cheaper. Usually 401 beats HairyT but sometimes these guys have a better quantity at a lower price. Though there is no play area and I find the owner (Leon, balding guy with long hair on the sides) pretty strange. While I was there, he was stroking his cat with a bat in an aggressive manner. Poor kitty
Excalibur comics (Near Royal York station, Google Maps)
I've been here a few times, it's kinda small but sorta similar to Scifi world but not as good. No play area.
There's also another place called Dueling Grounds (west of Dufferin station on Bloor) but I've never been there.
Magicarsenal.com has great prices on most singles if it has them in stock. It also has a rewards program for continued customers, and if you refer someone YOU AND YOUR friend get a discount.

:facepalm:If you only told me this earlier. I always complain of how I visit any world-class place of renown for opportunities like this and now I find out that the city I spent a whole weekend in would be mentioned in the "best/cheapest place to buy cards" thread. Way to go, me!:toot: In all honesty, all I found in Towson were college students... not quite nerdy, but I'd like to know exactly where that place is...

When I want cards, especially when new set is released, I make an order to 3-4 of those at the same time and pick the cards wherever they are the cheapest.
Those places deliver pretty well to europe as well. 1-2 weeks delivery etc.
I buy almost all my singles (and I buy a lot) from Ebay, Cardshark or MTGfanatic. I usually only use MTGfanatic for certain commons and uncommons as I can get the rares much cheaper on Ebay or Cardshark.
I should add I never got ripped off on Cardshark and I won a free box of Eventide in their monthly raffle. I've only got ripped off on Ebay twice out of hundreds of transactions, and both were sub-$5 sales from sellers with small amounts of feedback.

Kelz0r is the cheapest I have found, and excellent service.
http://magictrade.dk/ looks to have the same prices, but is strictly online, and I haven't bought from there.
At kelz0r the prices for one Zendikar booster is 20.00 DKK which is equivalent to $3.99.
The two other major Magic sellers is Dragons Lair and Faraos Cigarer
Selling Zendikar boosters at respectively 35.00 DKK and 30.00 DKK.

There's also always Frank and Son's in the City of Industry. Most of the dealers there are awful, but a few of them have some amazing, amazing deals.
