The combo is not going to be played. It's an easily disrupted combo that needs two 100% otherwise dead cards.
Quote from SKRulesWell I wouldn't go that far. Vampire Hexmage is pretty versatile, kills planeswalkers, and can power down some random creature. Dark Depths is pretty useless, but with Urborg the drawback is gone, and it's just a better swamp.
Quote from iamajellydonutHexmage is good against Walker.dec, Chalice, EE, and Ravager. (EE can dodge it by just sacing then. the ravager player can play around it.)
Dark Depths is completely useless. And yes, it is a Swamp with Urborg, but that Urborg is only a 1-of.
Quote from pw709Ken Adams played Urborg as a 4 of in his deck.
The combo is good.
Quote from iamajellydonutLinks are really helpful with things like this.
Quote from PurEGoyf and nacatl are too slow.
Quote from citynoiseI think some people don't understand that the Mirrans are the bad guys. Arcbound Ravager is Mirran. Phyrexia are the good guys coming in to conquer an evil, evil world.
Quote from AtikinIts already 15+ on ebay and the combo has proven to be competitive. I wouldnt expect the price to lower anytime soon as the more a deck is tested and played the better it will get, thus raising it further.
Quote from iamajellydonutUmm... No. It got 8th place in one tournament. That is not "proven".
Quote from AtikinIll agree that proven was probably too strong a word, but its 8th place at a 5k and not your local Fnm. It played competitive legacy decks throughout the day and was good enough to win a majority of its match ups.
Quote from TopperIt should maintain its value for a somewhat decent portion of the EXT. season.
It's a bastard to crack when they drop Chalice for one denying your Path AND your Pithing Needle. Granted, it will grow increasingly fragile to hate as combo decks often do, but unlike most combo decks, it's got a lot of resolve insofar as it can hit early and stop the hate with annoying regularity.
