I know of MoTL, can use Starcitygames, but anyone else have suggestion of where to go to price the average market value of cards? Trying to make a spreadsheet of all T2 mythics and rares to keep on me. I like to trade a lot but am not the best at remembering average value.
And unfortunately some of the people that show up to FNM are the type that try and get people to trick newer/unknowing players into trading their $10+ mythic/rare for some $1 rare for the sole purpose of profit trading.
Apathyhouse.com is indeed very good. Between their and MOTL, I wouldn't use much else. Otherwise, buy a scrye (if they are still printing them?) and just make sure whatever level of pricing you use, that you are consistant.
Just dont tie yourself down to one place, and if you're doing a trade, make sure that whatever place you choose to value the cards by, use the same for both sides of the trade to make it fair

I find that MOTL prices are too far out of whack to really trust, for my end OR the person I am trading with. I just dont think its fair.
Unfounded conjecture.
MOTL prices are based upon a sample size of EBay completed listings, accurately representing the ture value of a card less shipping costs. Apathyhouse does the same thing, but does it even more accurately.
Blackborder, starcity, and ABU are based off of one dealer's opinion, one that is horrifically-overpriced and can be charged based upon their selection and advertising alone.
In my experience if you really want to use a price guide as a trade decider then as mentioned Apthyhouse and MOTL are probably your best choices but in my experience most non competetive players (re. casual players) base trading values not on any priceguide but rather on how much they want or dont want the card with the exception of very high priced cards (duals and above).

The "less shipping costs" is a pretty important caveat since it puts stuff like Temple Garden at five bucks a pop. Does a single comic book or dealer offer that price for TG's? Of course not. Would anyone take a trade of 3 Temple Gardens for 1 Maelstrom Pulse which MOTL confirms is a valid trade? No one with a functioning brain at least or someone that isn't hopelessly desperate to get a Pulse.
Beyond that TS, just take a look at the averages. No one site is perfect, so when you trade, just be smart about it. We all have an idea of what the cards are generally worth, and we all generally know what kind of trades favor us. For example, let's look at the following trade:
I offer...
My - 2 Dragonskull Summit, 1 Clone, 1 Gargoyle Castle, 2 Bloodbraid Elf, 1 Anathemancer
(for) Your - 3 Sunpetal Groves
It's close to even but here I'm clearly asking you to trade down on your Sunpetal which can easily be used to get another M10 Duel. Don't ever trade down for staples. Just the same, don't ever trade up for non-staples. It's pretty simple IMO.

i also use apathyhouse.com ... one side benefit of their site is that their pages are really small and low on formatting, making it ideal on some cell phone browsers (particularly those running windows mobile, as MOTL comes up all wacky on mobile IE).

You have it backwards--that puts Temple Gardens at a higher price under your example, not a lower price--but it is largely immaterial, IMO.
I think the terms "trading up" and "trading down" should be reserved for legacy and vintage cards/hard to find rares. Not M10 duals. 7$ cards are not hard to replace.

I know right. Just like "good cinema" and "bad cinema", despite being extremely broad descriptions, should still be reserved only for movies before the 70's.
