Hi All
I was a player/collector of Magic at the end ot last millenium :-D. Some days ago while cleaning I've found my "old" magic collection. Since I'm no more interested I was trying to understand if something worth the time spend to try to sell it.
Few of the "rare" card seems have some value but most of the others are almost without any worth. I've also half dozen of pre-build decks of the 1999 and 2000 word championship, most of them still sealed. At the time the price was quite low (1 deck had the price of one booster pack) so I've always considered them as something for "collector" without any real worth. Looking on internet seems some of them has been sold for 100/300$. It is their real value?
Thanks
Francesco
There's certainly the collectable nature, and people's nostalgia over these old decks to make people want them. Its also over 20 years old, and something that people considered pretty valueless for most of that time, so a lot of them are buried somewhere like yours, or were just tossed out. There's probably not a ton of them floating around for sale.
But I think what gives some of these the most value is specific cards. The Budde/Finkel decks both have 4x Grim Monolith. That's a $300 card, and on the Reserved List, so it doesn't get reprinted. Its also a card that almost everyone would shove into every Commander decks, if not for the price tag. The World Champ decks are effectively official proxy cards, so even if they aren't tournament-legal, people will still buy them at a 90% discount to play at a kitchen table.
oh, thanks for the fast answer! I'm really happy to hear this.. I've only to find the best way to sell an let someone else enjoy them.
I'll keep for myself only the collection of black cards, my favouite in the past :-D

So yes, they can be worth quite a bit.
