Felpurr hears a series of curses and clanks from the dwarf as he rolls over and picks himself up. He can only follow him by ear; it's pitch black, so seeing him is out of the question. "Bloody hell," he says, switching to the common tongue "where's me hammer?"
They love and hate to see me walk through the door. I'm the man with the box, one to carry all his Standard cards with him. I've got the commons and uncommons they need. But I've also got my decks. If I walk into FNM, I came to play. And they never know what I'm gonna pull out of my hat next. I may lose more than I win, but it just might be THIS deck that has all the answers that they don't have answers for. They fear the unknown. They fear me. And they never see me coming!
As Felpurr hands the hammer in Lars' general direction, he feels sudden resistance, hears both a clang, and a dwarven expletive. "Ow! Watch it where yer swingin' that thing!"
The dwarf ignites some mana in his hand, causing both Felpurr and him to flinch at it. He then grabs his hammer from Felpurr's hand, the flames spread around the hammer, and they look around.
The dwarf and the catfolk both appear to be at one end of a long corridor. To their left, there is a steeply sloped ramp heading up. Lars starts picking up the book, and the items that had, up until then, been scattered throughout it.
Felpurr looks around at the walls, wary of any other levers that might drop them even further down into the depths of the mountain.
"Well, we MIGHT be able to make it back up the slope... assuming that the way didn't close behind us. But I would say that our best bet would probably be down the corridor."
Felpurr checks the floor for anything he may have dropped, picking up a few loose items and putting them back in their proper places.

"No map? That's never a good thing. I'll try to climb up the slope a little, and see if it got lodged along the way."
Felpurr examines the sloped entryway, looking for a possible way to temporarily scale it.

Felpurr begins to climb up the slope, using his claws when possible, wedging himself in when not.
"Just keep a light pointed this way, Lars, and I should be able to see a fair way up."
As he climbs, Felpurr looks around for any trace of the fallen map.

Lars holds his hammer out behind Felpurr, trying to keep from singeing him.
As Felpurr gets up in the chute, he finds a depression where a rectangular slab of stone could collapse into from above. The ceiling here is flat, and tapering to a wedge point ahead of you.
Felpurr reaches a place where he can climb no further, and sighs.
"It's a dead end up here, and no map. I'm coming back down now. Stand away, in case I slip."
Felpurr begins to make his way back down the slope.

After one or two near-slips, Felpurr manages to get down to the bottom.
Lars looks at his surroundings. "Well, there seems ta be only one path, then," he says, motioning towards the hallway ahead. "From what I can remember, there be a storage area this way."
"That looks to be the case. Would you like to lead, or should I?"
While waiting for an answer, Felpurr begins to walk slowly down the hallway, looking for any signs of possible traps.

You don't see anything until Lars leans around the corner with his torch. The corridor is similar to the one behind you, but you can see the light of the torch reflect off of something small in the distance.
Felpurr peers closely at the reflection in the distance.
"I see something, maybe metallic, maybe mirrored. It's reflecting your light back at us. We should be wary of more traps."
Felpurr begins to slowly walk down the corridor toward the unknown thing.

After a very short walk, the torchlight reveals a door. The door is made of some kind of metal you can't identify, which is reflecting the torchlight. A seam travels down the center of the door. There are no apparent handles. The door, or doors, it could be, looks smooth.
OOC: Is the door at the end of the corridor, or does it continue on past the door?
Felpurr examines the door, and around the outside of the door, looking for any clue for how to open it.
"An interesting puzzle, to be sure."
Felpurr steps back and thinks for a minute, while looking at the door.

Felpurr shakes his head, stands back, and glares at the door for a minute. Suddenly, a grin comes to his face.
"Maybe we should just knock."
Felpurr knocks on the door, wondering how and if it might be answered.

It makes a dull "thunk thunk" sound, but does nothing beyond that.
"That didn't do nothin'" Lars says, "Here, outta the way!"
He moves forwards, and slams his hammer into the door. It gives a good WHANG. The door doesn't move much, and the hammer sounds like it's ringing more than the door. To emphasize this, Lars lets out an "OW!" switches his hammer to his off-hand, and shakes his hand vigorously.
Felpurr whistles at the unsuccessful attempt by Lars to force open the door.
"If I had the money, I would have invested in some artifact-destroying spells. That might have worked here. Do you have anything like that available to you?"
While waiting for an answer from Lars, Felpurr sends a small thread of green mana into the crack in the door.

The mana is absorbed by the door, and doesn't have any apparent affect.
Lars shrugs. "I've got meself a big Elemental I could throw at it, if that would do anything... but there's got to be some way ta get in here, I mean the man's an artificer..."
Lars starts to look around on the walls.

"Here's your hammer. I wish that Aggron hadn't been in such a hurry. I hope that boom doesn't mean trouble for them."
Felpurr glances around the room at the new surroundings, listening for any hint of the size of the room.
"Got a light for me?"

Lars leads the way down the corridor, the flickering light of his hammer illuminating the path.
After a little while, the light reveals a bend in the tunnel, jutting off to the right at a right angle.
"A turn in the road, and maybe our fortunes."

The door is moderately reflective. You can make out your extremely blurred reflection, barely.
"Maybe it just pushes open."
