Are these cannon?
Niv is definately an artifact creature now according to that. It even says the Gearwork Dragon. Soul is in a Mizzium and Crystal Body

Actually from what I can tell the only strong inaccuracy is Niv-Mizzets new body (also I think Tomik became acting guildmaster of the Orzhov so that Kaya wouldn't be bound to them anymore? Then again that might have happened later). Also Teferi seems to not have joined the Gatewatch here or at least is taking a break with his family. Maybe they had to work with a draft version of War of the Spark? But the comic has already been called non-canonical, so it might just be a way to distinguish this continuity from the main story...
Which I'm actually a bit saddened by, I really like the comic overall, and the big bad is an interesting character to use for this. Also explains quite nicely what happened to them. Certainly more interesting than Forsaken's plot. As long as it doesn't contradict the main continuity too much I will just put it as "having happened" sometimes before Zendikar Rising in my head canon.

Kaya is still the guild leader for Orzhov.
Niv-Mizzet has already been reborn and is the living guildpact.
(Make of that how you will)

if he turned into a artifact creature....we better pray that the phyrexians don't find him.

According to another they are non-canonical stories.
He indeed was, we even have a card for him. And he is flesh and blood. No artifact creature.
This is either a f**k-up, or an in advance admitted non-canon story.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
