In the end Michiko Konda and the Taken One defeat their fathers by melding into one being, then separating to be 2 twin half-human, half-kami beings and become guardians of Kamigawa. Toshiro Umezawa is brought along the Madarain Time Rift to the cliffs of Madara on Dominaria by the Myojin of Night's Reach to start worship of her on Dominaria. Toshi is also the ancestor of a one Tetsuo Umezawa, the human who killed Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker... i dont think i missed anything with the end. i vastly enjoyed the books, and recommend them to everyone.
At the end of Kamigawa, O-Kagachi is defeated by the princess and that which was taken. They consumed him and became the new gaurdians of Kamigawa.
Konda was turned to stone and shattered (he was still alive, just frozen).
Toshi is rewarded a wish for helping to free That which was taken, he choose to punish Moochi. Who is consumed by Heartless (who had taken over as the all consuming oni of chaos).
Then on his way home Toshi is blindsided by the moonfolk from the start of the story. They are going to kill him. Night's reach agrees to help him and she kills the moonfolk. Then to punish Toshi for his insubordination, she transports him to Dominaria and blinds him.
And that's how the story ends. Toshi presumably started a family on Dominaria.
* If none of that made sense, please clarify how much you know of Kamigawa.

Exactly! see? someone else who has read the novels. they were awesome.
It turned out that O-Kagachi was actually Nicol Bolas and the the entire war was a convoluted ploy for him to regain all of his power. Oh, wait, no. This was back when Magic stories didn't all have the same plot.
I would also recommend the Kamigawa Novels for Magic related reading. They were pretty good, and did a good job of keeping heroes and villains loosely defined, and not strictly divided along color lines. The same goes for Ravnica.
If you were curious, there were some parts of Agents of Artifice that took place on Kamigawa, where Jace Kills a bunch of Nezumi by accident or something.
We also get a short cameo shot of it near the end of Future Sight, when Leshrac goes running around the planes. Not much, except that the two sisters are still the guardians and in power.

I got into magic by picking up Outlaw (Champions) at my library, then going to the grocery store two days after i finished it and realizing that that set was currently on display and on sale. I can actually thank these books for getting me into Magic, and they were awesome books regardless, magic or not. Only downfall is that they were extremely easy for diehard anime geeks to go nuts with, with all the Japanese mythology and language involved.

I have absolutely no love for anime or the Japanmania of late, but I found the Japanese mythology and whatnot of the books to be incredibly interesting.

i like anime, but i always got the feeling people werent reading it for the magic factor. it was more like "hey this would make a cool anime."
Kamigawa and Ravnica most stand alone, they only tandentially segue into other story threads, and then got tied back to the Dominarian rifts in Time Spiral. You don't need any knowledge of Magic history as a whole in order to appreciate those books, which is pretty nice. On top of them being fairly well written.

Taking a world religion course right now and we just finished shinto. They did a pretty good job at sticking fairly close to it. It was a nice surprise.

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!

Haha, im a huge anime fan, and a huge eastern lore fan and this book series fueled both.
yeah. it was a really good series, too. i never realized how much the "standalone" books really tied into the rest of the series.
