I have the following combo in play and need to know how to resolve it. Solemnity + Butcher Ghoul + Heartless Summoning + Shadows of the past.
The Butcher Ghoul was the last card played and I understand the trigger rulings but how do I stop the infinite scry and recursion of the ghoul. Once I get a card to the top of my library I want to play can I stop the loop and what happens to the ghoul, can I play the card to create a win condition and continue the loop.

If you do not have another card outside this loop then you cannot stop it and the game is a draw. The reason being that none of the abilities involved are 'may' abilities that give you an option of saying no so you simply keep bringing Butcher back as a 1/1 to immediately die to Heartless Summoning and trigger undying. You need something like Relic of Progenitus to exile it from your GY to end the loop or replace Heartless Summoning with an activated sacrifice ability like Viscera Seer.
You need some other card to stop the loop. You can't just choose to not perform any of the effects, the Ghoul will keep returning and dying again and again.
If no player has a way to stop the loop, the game is a draw.
You can Cremate the Ghoul from the graveyard in response to the Undying trigger, or Demystify either Solemnity or Summoning.
