If I equip Avarice Amulet on my Commander and it goes back to my Command Zone instead of my Graveyard, does any one of my opponents gain control of Avarice Amulet?

Avarice Amulet's second ability triggers only when the equipped creature "dies", that is, "is put into a graveyard from the battlefield", not when that creature leaves the battlefield in any other way, including by going to the command zone (C.R. 700.4, 603.2). See also this thread.
The rules for the Commander variant changed with Core Set 2021 in a way that materially affects this answer.
Now, in general, if a commander dies, it will go to the graveyard as normal, so that if it dies while Avarice Amulet was attached to it, Avarice Amulet's second ability will trigger (C.R. 701.17a, 700.4, 301.5e). And soon after the commander dies, a state-based action gives its owner the option to move their commander from the graveyard to the command zone (C.R. 903.9a). Even if the commander moves to the command zone this way, however, that won't affect the Avarice Amulet ability that triggered this way.
EDIT (Jul. 26, 2021): Clarification. One rule was renumbered in the meantime.
