With Thrumming Stone out, how does the stack look when you cast the first Rat Colony, and then you ripple into more?
Stack:
Rat Colony->Ripple ability->reveal 2
Does the first Colony resolve and enter the battlefield, and then you cast one more? Or do you cast each additional Colony, each with a ripple ability, until all your Colonies are on the stack, and you no longer have to ripple, and then they each resolve one by one and enter?
It's the latter. The stack looks like this immediately after you cast the first Colony:
TOP
Ripple
Colony #1
BOTTOM
Then you resolve Ripple, reveal say two more Colonies, and cast them, which triggers two more Ripple triggers that go on the stack on top of the Colony spells. The stack looks like this :
TOP
Ripple
Ripple
Colony #3
Colony #2
Colony #1
BOTTOM
And so on, each ripple potentially making you cast more colonies, which triggers more ripples that go on the stack on top of them. All of the Colonies from this loop started by the first cast from your hand will be on the stack at the same time in the end, and none of them will resolve until you stop rippling. Which means the combo is unfortunately vulnerable to something like Mindbreak Trap.
