Ran into a weird issue, and I'm just trying to find out if we handled it correctly. This was casual EDH so no harm if we were wrong (but I want to be correct going forward.
Gideon, Champion had 12 loyalty counters on him (he enters with 4). My opponent made him a creature (using the 0 ability) that takes no damage and is indestructable. I bounced him using Rune (2T, exile target creature until EOT). He comes back into play with 4 loyalty?
We ruled as a group that since counters normally fall off and he enters the game with 4 he comes back with 4. Were we right?
