Hi all, I was talking with a friend earlier about some of the older cards we had seen over the time we have played MtG. Now, I remember seeing a card, I believe it had White as it's cost, but the full CMC escapes me. I have no clue on the name either (forgotten it >.>). It was quite an old card.
What I do remember was that it had an ability that basically said you can't lose by having your points reduced to 0. I can't remember if it was a creature or an enchantment. Is anyone able to shed some light on this for me? Or am I just dreaming up cards?

Soul Echo also prevents you from losing from having 0 or less life.
Not a likely scenario to occur, seeing as you can only play 1 of each.

712.5b The controller of another player can't make choices or decisions for that player that aren't called for by the rules or by any objects. The controller also can't make any choices or decisions for the player that would be called for by the tournament rules.
Example: The player who's being controlled still chooses whether he or she leaves to visit the restroom, trades a card to someone else, agrees to an intentional draw, or calls a judge about an error or infraction.
That's still horribly unreliable. You'd have to be low while someone else at the table is high (not exactly common if you're playing Zedruu correctly), then you'd have to find Transcendence and you'd have to have the mana to play it and donate it without anyone interrupting you. There are much simpler ways to kill someone with Zedruu.

Bacl asked how it would work, and I presented a way in which it would work. I suppose it depends on the player and the group, but it does not seem so out of the realm of possibility that it would not be worth a slot perhaps. Either way, I was making no claims of potency.

How about this?
Not too hard with Zedruu the Greathearted as your commander.
