The player playing the spell would be targeted by the sphinx's ability, as it's the spell's controller. The Shield isn't dealing damage to it, it's just redirecting damage to it.
But more on topic, shield wouldn't be too bad on either Sphinx or the Swine in block constructed.
The purpose of the Swine is that it will do damage to both your opponent and you, which will be redirected to the Swine a la infinite damage. But it costs too much.
If you check on magicthegathering.com, the swine will die after taking in 4+ damage, so unless you got your opponent to a really low life total, you will not be able to kill him with this...

Im not playing this kind of deck! this deck has a lot of weakness. how can this deck win against white winnie? MUC? i think theres no way this deck can win over white winnies and MUC etc..

Then don't play it. I think the intention is not to create a Tier 1 deck, but to reveal a combo many might now have known about that could be made into a deck if wanted.

idk if your only using type 2 but if you arent, try using cho-manno and pariah shield. its a nice combo to piss someone off like someone using a plain burn deck without artifact hate. but thats rare around these parts.

As mentioned, Phytohydra is a good sub for Cho-Manno if you were to build a T2 deck like that today.
BLACK -terror, putrefy, etc. easily kills cho-manno.
RED - shatter could destroy the shield.
GREEN - same as RED, a lot to mention.
BLUE - expect to be countered.
WHITE - Seed Spark, same as RED and GREEN.

Err...didn't you start this thread?
At any rate, that's why you include in your deck some method of dealing with those. I mean, your combo is only three cards - and one color. So you can easily fit countermagic of your own, or recursion to get back whatever's killed off, etc.
Nobody has said this combo is good, they have just said that it exists.
There is no reason to dispute this combo, because it works. Nobody has suggested a deck built around the combo.
But I'm going to. In Dissension-legal type 2, one may make a black-red control deck, using the new Rakdos cards. One may, if one may choose to, include transmute cards such as Brainspoil, Netherborn Phalanx and Dimir House Guard to find pieces of this combo and Diabolic Tutors. Then, one may choose to also include the cards Coalhauler Swine, Pariah's Shield and Blessing of leeches. This deck may not be built specifically around this combo, but it may choose to include it as a sub-combo.
My advice is to not put cards in there simply because they are known to be Tier 1. If you want this deck to complete it's point, you will need to have its elements and cards that will work towards this element or support it.

I cant play that deck yet, i dont have phytohydra or pariah's shield even 1. Xathrax is right, it is very obvious that the combo sucks. its not competitive enough.
I didn't say it sucks. Sucky combo = unfun and uncompetitive. Good combo = either fun or competitive(sometimes both)
Eh, not that good of a combo if it isn't game winning and most combos that are game winning are not fun. I don't play combo decks anymore, mainly because they are all that fun. (Though I do have one combo deck for people I've never played before. :D)
Secondly, I think this combo could be competitive if it was heavily critiqued over in Type 2 Competitive.

this combo is not good umm at all. the cost is too high and there are way to many parts that can be disrupted for it to be able to go off. if you wanted to include like phytohydra and pariahs shield in a beats deck then that would be olk but as far as the deck made around to combo it just dosnt work.

Or heck, if your deck is focused solely on the combo, run both Shield and Blessing
