So I've noticed that different toploaders can fit different amount of cards. With some I have to try really hard to get more than 2 cards in while with others i can fit 3 or 4 with no problem. If I want to go out to buy the ones that fit 4 what should I be looking for?
Thanks!
I have some 79pt. toploaders and a playset of cards inside a penny sleeve will fit into one nicely. However, I'd like to know what size toploader will fit 4 double sleeved cards inside a perfect fit/KMC.
There are some toploaders that are specifically designed to fit multiple cards, or thicker cards, or super duper sleeved cards. I have received a few in trades. Basically, the toploader is two thin sheets of plastic, with glued spacers on the left side, right side, and bottom, but the top is left open. The ones that are used commonly have very small spacers between the front and back sheet of plastic. Some however, have very large, or very thick, spacers. This is very easy to notice when you look at the toploader from the top, where you would put in the cards themselves. For example:
Thick toploader. Note that there are multiple cards inside this toploader.
Now this, I copied and pasted (with the sales pitch removed) from ebay:
Most top loaders are measured by a point scale. This is the size of the opening of the top loaders. The higher the number, the larger the opening.
Here is the best way to figure out how thick of a holder you need for a given card. Take a stack of common cards and lay them on top of each other.
1 regular card = 20 Point - Use all standard Top Loaders or screw downs.
3 regular cards = 55 Point - Use 55 point Holders or 1.5mm
4-5 regular cards = 70-79 Point - Use 79 point Holders or 2.5mm
6-8 regular cards = 138 Point - Use 138 Point Holders or 3.5mm
9-12 regular cards = 180 Point - Use the 180 Point Holders or 5mm
But then again, don't take those specific numbers from me, that was just a quick google search. Experiment with whichever ones you get, and see how you prefer to use them to suit your needs.

Are you looking to sell cards?
Depending on what you need the top loaders for, here's what I use:
Semi-Rigids are the way to go.
They're kind of like 1 size fits all protection for shipping.
Thanks!

Mostly for trading/selling yeah. I personally feel unsafe receiving cards in those so I don't use those to send
