Destroying a Land is not usually bad, Sinkhole And Wasteland Would like a word with you, When done properly land destruction will just punish some greedy decks into an instant loss
Its not cheaper.. or even relevant directly but ive always liked Fissure
redthirst is redthirst, fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. He was the leader of the Fires of Salvation, the only clan I'm aware of to get modded off the forums so hard they made their own forums.
Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.
He's trying to avoid a dead card (as would be the case with a dedicate artifact destruction card) that's also cheap enough.
Pillage is seriously great though. It'll never be "dead" unless you've already destroyed all of your opponents' lands, and at that point, you should already be winning.
Wait, I thought you only wanted cards that destroyed an artifact and/or something else? What exactly do you need? If you just want creatures that pop an artifact when they ETB, then there are a lot of them.

but Sinkhole, and Wasteland are good for what they do at the cost they do them at it - which is free or 2 mana .
I've been impressed with Goblin Vandal
Its the kind of card I thought I needed. It has board presence and can even take out multiple artifacts, can destroy Sensei's Divining Top and has an extremely low mana cost of 1 . Its a creature that just keeps on giving. Whether it is getting in some damage or chump blocking.
Deal yourself 3 damage but not before doing one of three really stupid things.
I should probably just play 2 in all of my burn decks. and be happy with that until they print a new card.

I'm surprised Wizards hasn't made more artifact destruction spells for RED (come on!) that are a bit more versatile.
maybe the walls have ears and will hear me. I remember when I whined about non basics and was like you know comes into play tapped after the third turn would be an interesting mechanic for a dual and they made it. those Scars lands were my public idea. those turned out great.

Check out Gorilla Shaman. It's great at taking out low cost artifacts and doesn't have to attack to use its ability.
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.

Great guy to have around? Hell yes.

but.. with a lower mana curve either cmc 1 or 2
and mono-red . not a charm.
Dancing Fire Sparks - 1R
Sorcery
Deals 2dmg to target player or destroy target artifact.
^ That would be awesome.
I like Aftershock but it costs a lot of mana
I already know what I look like. That's why I'm there.
An either / or spell
Do this or do that.
like Aftershock, Pillage
etc
but for a lower mana cost
and less situational
Pillage is bad because destroy a land is usually bad
Its not cheaper.. or even relevant directly but ive always liked Fissure
Erebos B | Ghost Council WB | Grimgrin UB | Jhoira UR
Jor Kadeen RW | Melek UR | Mimeoplasm GUB | Rasputin WU
Savra BG | Sisay GW | Teneb BGW | Thada Adel U | Wort BR
I draft and play EDH. If a Standard player can't understand who a card is for, it's probably for me.
I also write things about good films.
ooooooh
That is rather interesting
+1/+1 and trample at least gets some damage through
Anywho, your choices at 3 or less are faily limited:

Goblin Vandal <-- Might choose to play this. He's like an either or spell. He's all upside though. He's a Mons' Goblin Raiders that can make a difference between losing and winning the game sometimes. He also destroys Sensei's Divining Top
Keldon Vandals
Manic Vandal
Torch Fiend <- This is also pretty good
Pillage is seriously great though. It'll never be "dead" unless you've already destroyed all of your opponents' lands, and at that point, you should already be winning.

I don't want a creature if I can do better.
I like Keldon Vandals and Goblin Vandal because they're solid in and of themselves for burn.
but they're exceptional. Ingot Chewer is bad. and Manic Vandal is bad
Pillage is actually really good. It's a stone rain with an optional shatter option for no additional cost.
Being able to remove lands is crucial to a lot of cubes. And nearly every deck you'll face will have an artifact target of some sort.

Compare it to Mogg Fanatic

Aftershock is really amazing honestly.
Deal yourself 3 damage but not before doing one of three really stupid things.
I should probably just play 2 in all of my burn decks. and be happy with that until they print a new card.

You kidding me???? Shivan Meteor
Check out Gorilla Shaman. It's great at taking out low cost artifacts and doesn't have to attack to use its ability.
He's the boss in vintage. Moxes? Where?
Does that pesky spellbook your opponent abuses annoy you? heh.
Hence the head shaking "no" smilie.
If you want a creature that pops artifacts; Goblin Vandal, Gorilla Shaman, and Torch Fiend are probably your best bets.
If you want an "or" spell that pops artifacts; Charms, Pillage, and Aftershock are all pretty good.
Also, FYI, popping a land at 3 is good - so good that WotC quit printing Stone Rain in favor of cards like Demolish 7.5 years ago.
