It seems that there are a lot of good big rare creatures that go for $1 or less because they aren't tournament worthy or because they're simply overshadowed by some other creature. What creatures, in your opinion, dont get the love they deserve?
Pelakka Wurm: Not only is it a 7/7 with trample for 7, it gives you something for entering and leaving the battlefield. Sure, it dies to removal, but you still get something out of it. If it's about to die, just target it with Momentous Fall and get a total 8 cards and 14 life!
Meglonoth: Also undercosted, but able to rack up tons of damage. Has anyone ever combined it with Valor Made Real?
Thorn Elemental: The fact that it's 7 damage and psudeo-unblockable seems pretty nasty to me. Give it an Assault Strobe or several pump spells
Chancellor of the Annex: A big creature that taxes your opponent! Ok, it's no Baneslayer, but it can hinder your opponent in the beginning and still slow them down. The drawback is that it costs 7 mana, but for what it does, it seems pretty good
Archon of Justice: I admire this card quite a bit. It's simple and straightfoward. A strong creature with an added graveyard effect.
Terra Stomper: always used to be a fun card to play, having the advantage of only costing 6 mana, it could easily hit play two turns early as a lethal threat.
Flameblast Dragon: this was a personal favorite of mine when I played control decks that used red, and yet I rarely saw anyone else use such a cool card.
Godsire. I've been working on a Godsire/Intruder Alarm combo, but 4 colors is really hard to work with.

Back in my day, Wrath of God didn't kill Black Knight and that's the way we liked it. We also had to pay mana for our 1/1s. Kids and your Memnites. Get off my lawn!
Tornado Elemental kills boards full of dragons like a boss and then proceeds to rumble over whatever's left on the ground.
For what it's worth, I thought Pelakka Wurm was one of the better massive creatures in RoE drafts, better than many of the Eldrazi and levelers - the trample and the life swing on it were often gamebreaking, and it's not like Green was a colour you wanted to stay out of in the "ramp into big monsters" format.
My god, how could I have forgotten to mention Hellkite Overlord? That card won me games with it's over-the-top power; screw ultimatums or $30 rares, 8/8 super dragons are the ****!
Pelakka Wurm is only worthless because it's uncommon. It actually did see tournament play.
I was referring to Constructed. If there were any Pelakka Wurms in Constructed, I'd definetly like to see them.
Anyways, there were some great choices here. How could I possibly forget about Tornado Elemental? I remember getting overrun by Luminarch Ascension. This would've totally won.
So this guy's telling you that his family is going to be tossed out on the street penniless and starving and his dog is going to be kicked repeatedly if you don't give him a positive feedback...and he still won't honor the original deal?

Pelakka Wurm did see standard play. It was in some Eldrazi Green, it was in a green eldrazi ramp deck, and it even saw some play in early Valakut lists. It's seen more play than just about any other green, fat creature.
Hypnox was an old favorite of mine that I formerly ran as a one-of finisher in a mono-black deck.
Craw Giant was another really fun card, back in the day. Toss a Lure on him, swing, and he starts growing like a Chia Pet!
My other candidate (since Bloodfire Colossus has already been mentioned, absolutely love that card) would be Reiver Demon. This guy, when played at the right time, is such a beast.
The Deathbringer Thoctar starts fitting the bill almost immediately in a deck with any significant amount of removal(you know, red and black and all). A few things ie and wow, when did that thing become a 10/10?
A year and a half ago I made a Standard deck whose only goal was to drop a fat 6-drop by turn 3 and giving all my dorks +8/+8 with Overwhelming Stampede and dealing 60+ damage by turn 4. It used mana elves like Arbor Elf, Llanowar Elves, Archdruid and Joraga Treespeaker. it was something like this:
Pelakka Wurm: Not only is it a 7/7 with trample for 7, it gives you something for entering and leaving the battlefield. Sure, it dies to removal, but you still get something out of it. If it's about to die, just target it with Momentous Fall and get a total 8 cards and 14 life!

Victory's Herald: Looks like it could end games pretty quickly.

I draft and play EDH. If a Standard player can't understand who a card is for, it's probably for me.
I also write things about good films.
Dragon Tyrant - A billion damage. A billion.
My Trade Thread!
It's insane when you stick a Rancor on it, have Gaea's Cradle, and Wild Growths on your lands with Garruk Wildspeaker. Late game punch.

A friend of mine runs Thorn Elemental with Sangrite Surge in casual constructed. It's always fun to see it connect.

I took this timmyfest of a deck and went 6-0-1 in a PTQ only dying in the semifinals because my opponent was playing Jund with 4 Terminates maindeck.
