Does anyone know of a list showing every Magic card that has changed rarities? I'm trying to get this info without having to sift through every card every printed if possible.
Examples include Loxodon Warhammer being an uncommon in Mirrodin and a rare ever since. Or the more recent Thran Golem dropping to uncommon in M12. Any help would be appreciated.

i don't think it's happened many times, so i'll tell you the ones i remember:
The main reason they change rarities is to make the limited environment more balanced. Does the rarity even matter for anything other than pauper?
to tournament players, rarity makes little difference - they just select whatever combination of cards from the card pool that they want to use.
but as a collectible trading card game, rarity makes a difference. to your average casual player (the vast majority of MTG players), rarity makes a big difference. it affects the makeup of your collection, what you can trade for, what you can afford to buy in singles (if you are so inclined).
rarity underpins the structure of the game. it may make no difference to "standard constructed" but as a casual player it makes a difference to me - i can't afford to go out and buy most rares as playsets.

Modern: G Tron, Vannifar, Jund, Druid/Vizier combo, Humans, Eldrazi Stompy (Serum Powder), Amulet, Grishoalbrand, Breach Titan, Turns, Eternal Command, As Foretold Living End, Elves, Cheerios, RUG Scapeshift
Crypt Rats was common in Visions and uncommon in 7th.
Pestilence was common in Alpha through Fifth and in Saga, upgraded to uncommon in 6th. (And, oddly enough, the Saga version was reprinted in Battle Royale...as an uncommon.)
Took 'em a while, but they eventually realized that effect shouldn't be common.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and add the Circles of Protection here. Common through 7th, uncommon in 8th (and 9th for the red and black ones).
Unless you count the change from U3 to R as it got reprinted a change from Uncommon to Rare, City has been "Rare" for every set its ever been printed in that had "Rare" as a choice.
Wizards has gone and reclasified a lot of the old U1's as Rare see Ebon Praetor for instance.
Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Counterspell started at Uncommon and turned Common.
Trinket Mage was Common in Fifth Dawn and Uncommon in Scars.

Would you guys count functional reprints? Like Savannah Lions to Elite Vanguard for example. They're essentially the same card minus creature typing and Lions is a rare to Vanguard's uncommon.
also, not sure how you're counting the stuff from duel decks and from the vault - a lot of those cards were given the mythic symbols in those products that weren't printed at mythic anywhere else...
serra angel didn't only go from rare to uncommon. It was printed at an uncommon in the first few sets it was in, so it really went:
uncommon to rare to uncommon

If the world was perfect, it wouldn't be.

and technically, mountain!! it was on the rare sheet in arabian nights
Arabian Nights didn't have a rare sheet, only common an uncommon sheets, and MagicCards.info lists it as a C1 (appearing only once on the common sheet) and thus an "uncommon." Gatherer lists it as a common.

Story Circle is a "CoP" that got upgraded as well from U to R.
Rule of Law was downgraded.
I woudn't really count starter products in this mix, or FTV, or Premium Deck Series.
Here are a few others that don't include reprint sets like Masters Ed or Chronicles, or Multiple print sheet (U1-U3) type changes:
Act of Treason U->C
Lorwyn 5 (Planeswalkers) R->M
Anti-Magic Aura C->U
Armageddon Clock U->R
Azure Drake U->C
M10=mythic rare
M11=rare
-GGreeny Weenie InfectG
-UWVenser ControlUW
EDH/Commander
-WBRHeavanly InfernoWBR
Mind Stone
Nantuko Husk
Soul Warden
Regeneration
Drudge Skeletons (all five jump to U from C in previous sets)
More recently, you have Act of Treason dropping from a M10 uncommon to a M11 common. I'll edit more in later if I think of them.
Edit: Oh, someone said it already!
