I'm not sure I've noticed this, but it's possible they added them so that it would look better when the art was blown up for use on the packaging. I'll have to go back and see if I can see what you're talking about...

I had not noticed this either however Wizards does often do these sort of things. Color filtering of artworks to make them look more one color are common. Also wizards does add things or ask the artists to add them sometimes. Legacy Weapon comes to mind for me. The orginial did not have all of the color transformation it does now.

It looks as though they added in pupils in the art on the box... where the Lockwood Angel doesn't have pupils.
I personally prefer the way Lockwood had it originally... it just makes me wonder how much art Wizards edits this way before they put them on cards.
Any thoughts or other examples?
