What can we see for the new set Ikoria lair of the behemoth
I mean obviously it’s like 90% chance it’s a Godzilla/kaiju set
Question his how will the new mechanics works and also since kaiju average power and toughness are clearly gonna be very very close to the eldrazis how are they gonna implement this
That's a good question, to be honest. I mean in the past we had "kaiju" that were pretty meh. Godsire?
No offense here, but spikes can just rest a little while timmies get their dumb kaijus. i LOVE godsire and similar creatures

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
I have a feeling it will involve some kind of 'build your own monster' Host/Augment mechanic a-la Unstable. Innovation products are a playground for trying out black-bordered stuff in future sets..
I wonder: will the Kaiju world also have mecha? Especially combining mecha?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I wonder: will the Kaiju world also have mecha? Especially combining mecha?
Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths makes me thing about big jungles and bottomless oceans, not cities, skyscraper and battles with mecha.
I think it will basically be Naya: the plane

Nah, mortal-enhancing technology is a staple of the source material this plane is based upon. Some mecha would be expected.
Possible Planeswalkers:
Kiora- perfect for the theme of big monsters
Daretti- construct master less tied to either the Bolas or Phyrexia arcs, nor currently hunted by a non-monster-related PW.
Ashiok- if he’s not in the return to Theros, I could see him creating titanic horrors.
Wrenn - More likely than Nissa due to a re-return to Zendikar. Treefolk!
Huatli- Dinosaurs
Jiang- Growth powers
Ob- diabolist, but unlike Davriel he’s no mind mage.
Vivien- monster summoning

Wizards. listen. The Vorthos community will await the consequences of the Eldrazi Titans' deaths/sealing. We will keep the watch.

Imagine Titanic Lizard 10/10 Trample. And then Giant Crab. 5/5 First Strike.
But you can sacrifice the giant crab to 'mutate' and add Crab Claws to a 'Titan' creature. Grants +5+5 and first strike to the creature. Now you have a 15/15 Trample First Titanic Lizard with Crab Claws.
And the cards attach to each other like Augment and BFM.
Keywords to identify what creature is a 'host' which can have mutations attached to it and which creatures can be sacrificed to upgrade a host.
Definitely Titan or Behemoth as a new creature type.
Mech's will show up for sure in the form of artifact creatures. Will have host as well to make your own Voltron or Megazord type creatures.
Buffering Wings 2U
Instant Grow (when you cast this spell, exile it growing target creature)
Tap up to three target creatures.
The grown creature gets +0/+2 and gains flying.

If titan is a introduced type that type would need to be put on so many cards it might be off the charts
Since a titan definition is one in gigantic size or power
If they're keeping the original comics canon, then I doubt it. His original home plane looked a lot like dominaria based on the baloths. Or at the very least looked very simple.
Now that Theros is out of the way (Thank God), we can speculate about this set some more. I am all too excited to just play some epic monsters and fight to the death. Not that sissy enchantment way, no; true magic players fight with MONSTERS
I hope someone can move this to the regular speculation and not baseless now that theros is done now
Though minor out of subject I can now speculate a 2021 set will be a new phyrexia revisit since ashiok planeswalked to learn more about the phyrexians and also the forsaken lore confirm Teferi Ajani and karn will go there as well to initiate karns plane to end the phyrexians for good
Anyway Recap on likely creature types to see since it’s almost locked that it’s a set that introduces kaiju’s to mtg
Dinosaur (ofcoarse)
Construct (robot monsters)
Insect
Lizard
Octopus
Gorilla (King Kong)
Dragon
Hydra
Giant (based on theros amount of them)
Bird
Kraken
Leviathen
Spider
Golem
Horror (destoroyah)
Mutant
Plant (biollante and some Venus fly traps from a movie that get kaiju sized)
Crocodile
Elemental
I have a feeling it will involve some kind of 'build your own monster' Host/Augment mechanic a-la Unstable. Innovation products are a playground for trying out black-bordered stuff in future sets..
Call it a hunch.
They released a preview of Ikoria cards already. Didn't you seem them?
Erm I speculate Ikoria will have a wedge mythical legendary creature cycle, the strongest of the bunch will be the temur mythic and the weakest will be the abzan mythic
I speculate there will be 3 planeswalkers in the set (seems to be the norm now) the Pw's will most likely be Kiora,a brand new pw (a bad guy/gal) and some pw that was introduced in the war of the spark
I speculate the create your own monster thing will be basically meld, but with a lot more creatures to combine, and that mechanic will tie with the Commander 2020 decks, perhaps something like partner but when you get both of them in the battlefield they meld for no cost?
I speculate the story will be something cliche like bad pw is enslaving kaiju dude and planing to destroy something but then ikoria and " some pw that was introduced in the war of the spark" will defeat him and he planeswalks away
I also predict some of these boxes will be "ticked"
Though minor out of subject I can now speculate a 2021 set will be a new phyrexia revisit since ashiok planeswalked to learn more about the phyrexians and also the forsaken lore confirm
With how slow things are going I wouldn't be surprised if we only went to New Phyrexia in 2022, Eldraine was of little to no relevance to the mtg lore, yes Garruk was cured, but it was a lazy way to get him cured (and toss him to the side), Ikoria will most likely be a short arc with almost 0 relevance to a New Phyrexia return, and you know how Wizards likes to drag things out, Core Sets are just useless story wise , you know how they love to gather everyone, before we go to New phyrexia they will have to make at least 3-4 sets were they regather the gatewatch, only then we are going to New Phyrexia.
We will return to Innistrad (again to gather liliana or anna lol), then off to Vryn(wild west world) for Jace, then of to Dominaria again (For good ol Teferi and co) and only then we might visit New Phyrexia, and that leaves Nissa and Chandra out, they will most likely be in the return to return to Zendikar

Dinosaurs

And hey speaking of Marit lage it’s not like Ikoria is where she was hiding all along since she’s the right size for a kaiju monster
No offense here, but spikes can just rest a little while timmies get their dumb kaijus. i LOVE godsire and similar creatures
Call it a hunch.
Fully-powered 600-Card "Dream Cube" https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/dreamcube
450-Card "Artificer's Cube" https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/artificer
Cubing in Indianapolis...send me a PM!!
What omg I got godsire in just the nick of time then
Got him for 7$
I would also say Lizards, Beasts, Leviathans, Wurms, Horrors, Hellions, and maybe a Demon or two. I do not forsee Angels, however.
Yep I agree
Oh we both forgot three I just realized known that robots can be that big so a couple of them might be artifact creature
So constructs perhaps?
The other 2 is golems since we got kaiju sized rock monsters and elemental since those can get kaiju sized sometimes too
EDIT: wait four spiders have Ben that big too also probably one Ape to present for King Kong
