MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
If the Gatewatch gets involved with the Phyrexians, it would be something if one them got infected by the oil. I kinda pictured of Chandra infected with the oil having black eyes and she's flaring up flames to try to burn it out.

Planeswalkers are immune, the spark grants immunity.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
i think that possibly the remaining bolas aligned walkers will try to stir up trouble on new planes. possibly something involving the gods of these planes, perhaps suing them to free bolas/or the eldrazi.
New phyrexia is still a ways a way. i'd like it's story to come later, for now the preators are still developing thier various arts, and i think we could see a few new planes, and returns to old ones like kamagawa or theros, but i think new phyrexia is in the tube.
if they redid kamagawa, i want to have a story similar to "the last samurai" where we see technological changes and various new ideas cominh into clashes with the old systems.
I think we're going to get a break with hints at the next major arc without fully delving into it until two or three sets from now.
Phyrexians seem likely, but I'd rather see something new at this point. They've been hitting the nostalgia pretty hard. I don't blame them for that: they should utilize their massive library of lore. Still, I'm ready for something we haven't seen before. And not giant monsters.
Whatever the next major arc is, Chandra will be close to the center of it.
With the next set coming out October and the War of the Spark storyline not officially tying up until November I doubt the fall set will actually start the new story arc. Meaning we shouldn't expect the next long arc to kick off till next year. Or it to be kicked off by the end of the War storyline dealing with Liliana. So either way essentially next year.
Also, why do people keep saying walkers are immune to Phyresis? The only source that says anything is the old webcomics and Quest for Karn and both are fairly explicit that they aren't immune.
Tezzeret is up to no good for sure. He's lost the core to the Planar Bridge, but he could always build a new one, and the Phyrexians would make excellent minions. I anticipate he'll eventually get his own arc involving the Phyrexians invading multiple planes culminating in Invasion II on Dominaria, this time with planeswalkers from the worlds he's ravaged showing up to get even.
Dovin Baan I imagine is on his way back to Kaladesh to get his injured eyes treated. Where his story will go from there is hard to say. I could see him starting his own interplanar organization of planeswalkers who share his ideals.
Liliana most likely is grieving after Gideon's death. She might try to rescue him from Theros' underworld, only to end up rescuing Elspeth in his place at his behest. Most likely that would tie in to the aforementioned Tezzeret-Phyrexia storyline.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next story arc is like an epilogue to the events that transpired in War. We have several fugitive planeswalkers on the run in a heated chase by some protagonists. It would make for an interesting post-war thriller before we move into the next chapter of the story.
It feels like a better segue than what they did with the Weatherlight story by its abrupt end at Apocalypse other than the X years later feeling we often see in story naration.

The book being released in November is literally this. We've known for months that the next story is going to by Kaya chasing down lily who has fled to Dominaria, where the story goes from there is anyone's guess. The question here is is that the next big story arc or just the warp up for War and if so what is the next big story arc.

Now bolas can’t be freed
Ugin took away his name so he can’t be summoned and he trapped him in the meditation plane
And the biggest reason of them all liliana took his spark out with Bontu and oketra
I imagine the fall set will wrap up the hunt for Dovin Baan (the only fugitive that doesn't really have plot-baggage) and then on to New Phyrexia in some capacity.

Don't worry, if WotC wants to have Bolas back in the future, they will just write a deus ex machina to restore him to his former glory.
Same way as they wrote back Teferi's spark into the story, because... Teferi.
This said, I hopere there will be no major overarching plotline. It makes things old and stale, while having loosely related stand-alone stories allows for a more expansive exploration of the multiverse without having everythng to converge to a single final moment that will most likely be another overhyped garbage fire like War of the Spark.
From the MTG weekly stream Kate Elliot (author of the Bolas core set story and the Eldraine book) said the Eldraine story will be the start of a larger story arc.

Gonna speculate it will be the start to the Destroy New Phyrexia Saga. Soo maybe in 2021 we will finaly have a real conclusion to the new phyrexia arc.
But i would like if they instead created new villains cause it is nice to have long term villains and we just lost 2 of the 3 ongoing big villains in the last 4 years

Well with Karn planning to nuke it (and I feel like that won't go well for our heroes) I think its defiantly the in work but...

Well we do have a new walker for Eldraine who could be the next big bad. So either Rowan, Will and/or the new walker will be important or take something from Eldraine what will effect the future storyline.
Another I've talk with a few people else where is Maro hinted Bolas not being around will have consequences that will effect the story. This might be nothing BUT as we saw Bolas had his claws in a lot of plans across a lot of planes and now all those schemes are left with out the master mind to guide them.

They have zero reason to team up. Ob is the kind of villain that works best on their own.

I don’t think so.
