I believe it. Not surprised by an Egypt set and bringing back more gods with devotion would be slick. Keep an eye out for devotion enablers in Innistrad if true. I also would be inclined to believe the Ravnica news though I am disappointed if true. I never liked Ravnica as much as everybody else, and WE WERE JUST THERE! But since WOTC seems inclined to revisit newish planes in such rapid succession lately, Zendikar, Innistrad, Ravnica it seems plausible. Not sure what they could do differently with yet another dual color set though.
I don't think they would return to devotion so soon. Nor would they give another ravnica set less than 4 years later.
I wonder, if it´s true, how different it will be from Theros which also Gods, like would its uniqueness fail because we already have had gods?
Gods can be diverse. I bet they'd do it different enough.
I agree. There is no rule stating that Gods need to have devotion, or even be enchantments.d
The greek gods are very different from egyption and norse gods. In fact most pantheons are rather unique from one another. Egyptian mythology isnt based on dreams and belief, but rather cycles of seasons, death and life, etc.
They could still be enchantment creatures, but perhaps they have different "manifestation" conditions. Or maybe they are just creatures. There is no set rules. On Theros gods are enchantments and are tied to the devotion and beliefs of their followers. But this need not be true of the multiverse.

Being enchantments (or devotion being part of the gods) for instance would make it feel too simillar to Theroes I think.
Theros was another mythology set and it did pretty well, but was also an enchantment theme. They could easily differentiate it from that while still aligning some of the mechanics. On Blogatog recently MaRo was talking about devotion, for instance.
Khans was wedge, but Dragons of Tarkir was allied color pairs. And it has been stated in a few articles that people were excited for a wedge block, but were underwhelmed when they only got a wedge set. So they could remedy this by having a dual-color set that becomes a wedge.
Zendikar didn't really have a colorless theme, despite devoid. Those cards were used to group the two factions into Eldrazi and Ally, with the Eldrazi side supporting colorless because of devoid. Its focus was more on complementary deck strategies and on BFZ the theme was support of teammates.
Shadows over Innistrad will almost definitely be dual-color tribal decks. It would be reacted to poorly if people are denied more blue/black zombies, green/red werewolves, red/black vampires, etc. They'll likely spice it up with at least one Black/white angel named Avacyn, but still mostly a dual-color tribal theme.
Ravnica, on the other hand, has been a powder keg since the most recent visit. People have been using and abusing Jace's Guildpact status, and he's off galavanting to Zendikar and Innistrad. I wonder if he'll even check in on things on Ravnica. Gideon was trying to keep some semblance of order going, but Zendikar took priority. Teysa was trying to usurp power from the Ghost Council. So, yes, it would be an early revisit, but there are plenty of reasons for it. Also, Shattergang Brothers came out in 2013, but was a tri-color creature from Ravnica. They could be willing to bleed the colors a bit, with the Guildpact off-plane.
Aw man, I wished they made a plane that combines Alara's 5 shards, or worlds, with Tarkir's alternate timeline. Imagine one character from Bant. Now imagine a Esper, Grixis, Jund, and Naya versions of that same character.
Instead of one plane splitting into 5 shards, some event happened that took away 2 colors of mana, and the plane continued on, but there is some time rift, or some rift that allows someone to travel to an alternate reality where 2 other colors are missing.
I've often hypothesized about Alara shards converging, but the force blew them out the other side. So where they started as Arcs, they would become Wedges. The problem is people would still have knowledge of the other colors of mana and would try to use them, but slowly realize it no longer worked. Imagine Grixis-residents suddenly finding white and green mana instead of blue or red.
I'm not sure if I buy it. Plenty of the themes that could be done with an Egyptian-themed block will be done in Shadows of Innistrad. Graveyard themes? Wouldn't be Egyptian without talking about death and reincarnation. Curses? Yeah, the one thing people think the most when saying Egypt is the Plagues. Zombies? Well, right now Mummies are Zombies, so there's that. Mystery plot? We have freaking clue tokens in Shadows of Innistrad - couldn't go more mystery plot than that. :/
I doubt that WotC would do two full blocks of the exact same stuff minus Werewolves and plus Gods.
As for Ravnica revisit, I'd say "too soon", esp. since the plot seems to have more pressing matters than going again to City World to have fun with the Guilds. And Jace is already the poster boy of SoI, having him as the poster boy of Return to Return to Ravnica would be an eyesore.
The same could be said about Reddit and other social media websites.
I would generally agree, but at least with Reddit and other social media you mostly only end up with people who have misunderstood, misinterpreted, or otherwise mistaken something rather than deliberate and malicious trolling.

Shouldn't Wizards already have the trademark for the fall set in place by now? Nothing came up when I did a trademark search for "Sivagat". We use to have members that were super diligent about keeping track of what Wizards' & Hasbro registered. Are they getting better at keeping that from prying eyes?

Once they register the trademark, it's public information. I wish I was more familiar with the USPTO's search functions so that I could find any recent registrations by Wizards

I'm not saying this source is reliable in ANY way, but an Egyptian thing could go in a bunch of other directions too. Exploring/plundering tombs feels graveyard-y and mysterious, but also feels like exploring, which was one aspect of Zendikar that was pretty much dropped from BFZ/OGW. And there are enough different ways to care about graveyard stuff that it could complement some SoI themes rather than duplicate them.
Whether or not it is happening as the next block, I think an Egyptian themed plane is extremely likely in the not so distant future.

Agree with this on all counts. If there is to be a return to Ravnica in the near future (like next 1-2 years), I think it would be so wotc could do something radical with the plane and guild structure, like no guilds or merged guilds. But that would get wotc into trouble for not building to players' expectations, so I doubt it.

This is pretty much my exact thought - I do believe an Egypt-themed block is highly likely in the next five years (popular suggestion, interesting flavor, possibility one of Liliana's demons coming from such a plane, etc.), but right after a return to Innistrad seems like the worst possible time... UNLESS they are deliberately continuing the same themes because we are transitioning from following Jace to following Liliana for a few blocks. But even then, I find that scenario unlikely.
I can believe it. I mean the last few sets have all been "return to popular old set" or "reference real world sets" I mean we got vampires and Cthulu coming up. Maybe marketing thought having a theme that's culturally recognizable = more new players = better sales.
I'm probably in the minority but Egyptian would be my top pick for an ancient setting set. Though do people really think we'd see gods and devotion back already?
Also the same with Ravnica. It seems so soon to revisit there, especially for a third time. I wouldn't hate it since I do enjoy the setting but I'd prefer something else/different I think.
I hope they are right in predicting another Ravnica set after shadows over Innastrad. i run mostly two color EDH decks and Ravnica was great for those. Innastrad puts too much focus on just black and white decks so it is nice but its not too ecxiting for me. what would be really nice is for eventide of shadowmore to happen again. the split color cards from those sets were so useful.

I gave it a whirl on the USPTO website, but the most recent Magic-related thing that gets returned is actually Battle for Zendikar. IIRC the Tarkir block names were found on another country's patent office website, I think it was Australia?

Egyptian theme would be cool but only if they have their own ideas, no Arabian Ali Baba type nonsense, that was horrible. A return to Shadowmoor/Eventide with loads of hybrid cards and filter land reprints is what I really want though not a 3rd return to ravnica. I love both ravnica blocks but it really is too soon (Unless we get new duel lands lol).
Egyptian theme seems plausible. However another return to Ravnica is far to soon since we only left 3 years ago. Moreover where already doing another return visit right after another return visit. Two new planes in a row to offset two returns in a row seems more likely. Then they might start to alternate between new/return/new/return.
Does anyone else think Sivagat does not sound Egyptian like? Theros sounded like a Greek inspired plane. Fiora sounds French, which the look of the plane resonates with. Innisrtad sounded like a plane with the western European flavoring which the set had. Shouldn't the name ring a bit more instantly like Al'Tahid or some such. I see Sivagat and for the life of me I couldn't figure what culture it would be for unless told.

As far as picking up a story thread for the Egyptian World, that sounds like the perfect Plane to set a Kiora story into. She's involved with the Gatewatch, but kind of in a vague way. Wizards is definitely setting her up for something since we've seen her twice in three years. She likes to taunt and battle gods and has her own godly weapon already. Plus she also fits the treasure hunter vibe which an egypt theme needs to have. Temples and Tomb's and Gods, oh my. If this turns accurate I'd love to see Kiora head it.
