Bare with me here, as I need to delve into a some Greek mythology to explain my reasoning.
I am sure many of us here has at least a passing familiarity with ancient Greek mythology. Now, one of the more important legends from that ancient time was an explanation for why there were seasons.
As the story goes, there was a Gathering of the Olympians at Mt. Olympus, the reason isn't really important, but they where all there, as well as a few Cthonic deities. Anyway, one of the younger generation of Olympians, Persephone, caught the eye of Hades, lord of the Underworld, and she in turn became infatuated with him. Some claim that Aphrodite caused them to fall in love, others claim it was fate, but fall in love they did.
Now, Hades was not the villain that Disney and other modern portrayals has painted him as, rather he is quite big on proper conduct and is a deity who takes his duties very seriously. So, Hades went to Persephone's father, Zeus, and asked for her hand in marriage. Zeus gave his blessing and the two eloped to his house in the realm of the dead.
Now, Persephone was not a stupid girl, by any means, and she knew that if she partook of the golden apples (Or in some stories pomegranate seeds), she would, by the rules that even the Olympians need follow, be required to stay in the underworld, so she dined upon them.
Demeter on the other hand, was not pleased at all. Demeter was a nature goddess, and Persephones mother, and quite a controlling mother at that. When she learned that her only child had eloped with the Lord of the Underworld of all things she threw a hissy fit, refusing to do her duties and plunging the world into endless winter.
The other gods seeing that their worshipers where dying of exposure and starvation pleaded with Demeter to perform her duties, but she quite stubbornly refused, saying "I will do nothing until my daughter is returned to me."
Thus the other Olympians went before Hades and his Queen and pleaded for Persephone to return to her mother. Hades and Persephone of course were not happy, but Persephone is a kind and merciful goddess, and she convinced her King that for the sake of mortals he should make an exception to the rule, and allow her to spend half the year with her Mother and half with her Husband.
Now, Hades is also a very intelligent deity, particularly compared to his siblings, and he could see the damage that would happen did he not agree, as such he allowed his wife to circumvent the ancient laws of the realm of the dead so that she could spend half the year with her mother.
Demeter of course was overjoyed when she was reunited with her wayward daughter, ending the perpetual winter, and allowing things to grow again. Only to return to melancholy as her daughter returns to her Husband, allowing winter to fall. Giving us the seasons.
Thus Persephone is not only the Queen of the Underworld, but also the harbinger and goddess of Spring.
What does this have to do with my "stupid thought"? It is quite simple, we know that the last set in the block is called "Journey into Nyx", right?
Nyx means night or darkness, and as such can be interpreted as a metaphor for winter. Now, one of the "future shifted" cards of Future Sight was a centaur called Centaur Omenreader. Now, what is special with that particular centaur is that it is a Snow Creature. Thus we know that snow will return some day. So, why not now? It would certainly be quite the twist to the block, if it ends with the plane of Theros entering an ice age brought on by the melancholy of a deity (or deities) over their daughter having eloped with a deity of the underworld.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
The guy in the picture isn't a mortal, so I doubt he'd be affected by cold.
Anyway, the point wasn't that it started frozen, but rather that it became more and more frozen as the block progresses.
Theros = Summer
Born of the Gods = Autumn
Journey into Nyx = Winter
As I said, it is a pretty stupid thought, but it would be interesting.
Don't beat yourself up man, it's not that bad of a theory. At least you used given information to come to a reasonable conclusion. Better than some of the stuff you see in baseless speculation.
Still, I don't see snow coming back as a mechanic. Not soon, and not ever. Personal opinion also based on baseless speculation.

I dunno, there is still a lot of potential in the mechanic. We still haven't had Snow instants and sorceries, snow casting costs, and snow alternate costs. Heck, it could easily be combined with other mechanics that utilize mana for additional effects/costs (buyback, echo, kicker, morph, ect.).
Ice Age (including coldsnap), only really scratched the surface of the potential.

That does have a flavor tie to the myth of Hades and Persephone, so it's not much of a stretch.
I still think Theros will be a legendary matters set before a snow set, but having a few snow cards show up or having snow as a mini-theme might not be out of the question.

That was my thought as well. Not a main theme, but a side one, together with legends, and perhaps some tribal stuff.

I agree that the seasons are important in Greek mythology, but I think if Wizards wanted to bring back the '6th color' they would do it in a winter themed set. Probably on an ice plane or something.
Clearly the plane of Theros isn't that cold most times.
I think you're theory about the seasons and the last set having snow in it holds merit. However, personally I would be if Wizards brought back snow to only be in a single set again, not a block. S is something of a parasitic mechanic and it always felt 'tacked on' the other times it was used. If and when they revisit the 6th color I would hope they'd give it the support it would need, and not make it feel like something thrown-on as an afterthought, again. EDIT:
I could see a slowly growing Snow theme, like infect in Mirrodin, but having two supertypes as a theme is a little silly. See? Too many types feels too busy on a card, probably why there are no Legendary Snow Creatures in Magic. So, I don't think they're pick both, just one or the other.

What if, and this is just a thought, they start out with a few snow cards in Theros, a slightly higher percentage in Born of the Gods, finishing with a large amount in Journey into Nyx?

And I find Legendary more likely then Snow.
Legendary is pretty much a given at this point.
Also, I doubt I am the only one who'd like to see a Legendary Snow Creature.

It really didn't "do" much (the only thing it does is "Mana added to your mana pool from an ability of this permanant can be used to pay S." And only snow permanents used costs with S. And not even half of them.)
My issue with snow permanents is they want you to either go all the way snow, or not at all. Sure, Boreal Centaur only needs one Snow land to work at full strength, but mathematically, you would have to add 3-5 snow lands for each Boreal Centaur if you want to use it at full strength. Snow just doesn't give you much incentive to go full snow. Scrying Sheets and Mouth of Ronom are probably the only reasons I'd consider Snow in my deck, and only on the lands.
The only issue with that, is the one they barely got away with on Sen Triplets. Space.
Well, if it is a Legendary Snow Creature - Beast (or something similar), I doubt space would be much of an issue, also "Snow" is a considerably shorter word that "Artifact".
