It a set base on the horrors movies of the 80s and 90s
the main antagionist goes by the name of Valgavoth (likely the mothman like creature from the first picture shown)
the protagonist goes by the name of Marina Vendrell
Theres a new type calld "Room" likely a subtype but will see seems to be a split card or DFC card
example art.
Starting with this set is is japan art showcase cards going forward
theres a cycle known as "Overlord of the *NAME* (Mistmoors/Floodpits/Balemurl/Boilerbilges/Hauntwoods) the leaders of the house i'm assuming, and a mythic cycle of glimmers called Eduring *NAME*

Theres a new cycle of Leylines we saw the White one.
Enchantment creatures are in this set just like Theroes sets and Kamigawa neon dynasty
Commander decks are as follows WUB Miracle Worker (face commander is Aminatou) — Top card of library matters/Miracle matters (pretty much exactly the same thing as last time) BG Death toll — Delirium/graveyard fill/Reanimate creatures GU Jump scare (face commander is Zimone) — Instants matter/Flash matters/Face down creatures (yes more Face down support) BR Endles punishment (face commander is likely Valgavoth/Mothman like creature) — Punisher (example Painful Quandary)/Group slug/Stax
The Commander decks are also returning the Archenemy sub-game just like they did for planechase in march of the machines and Dr who commander decks. (and to note theres a new rule in Archenemy everyone starts at 60 life instead of 40)
the Planeswalkers ( only one has a spark.) and omenpath characters are the follows
1. Niko Aris
2. Tyvar Kell
3. Zimone
4. Kaito
5. The Wanderer
6. Aminatou (from the Esper Precon)
7. Nashi
And Nashi is why all of them are here Nashi came to Duskmourn by accident and got trapped there and all of them went there to go save him (maybe tamiyo will apear as a “glimmer” type card.)
Mechanics also returning ones include the following ("*" means based on being in commander decks doesn't mean its in the main set)
Convoke (creatures can pay for cost of card)
Delirium (benefits if you have 4 different card types in the yard)
Impending (Basic Suspend but its for enchantment creatures, they are enchantments for as long as they have counters when the last one is removed it gains the creature type.)
*Morph (cast creatures face down and you can turn them up for a cost
*Miracle (a spell with two cost one big mana value and also a 1 to 3 mana value alt cost, and to cast the smaller cost it just has to be the very first card you draw on any turn, and yes can loophole timing restrictions)
"For the rest of the game" effects (something happens if you cast it or do something with it, it sticks forever until the game is over)
Time Counters (they are not for suspend cards, they are for certain cards and impending cards)
Showcase includes the follow
Double exposure frame (Photograph like art seen in horror movies)
Paranormal Frame (Looks like a TV screen like frame from horror movie like in Ella or Saw for examples)
Mirror monster frame (its a treatment for the monsters in the house, its like the moment like a jump scare moment or like when a survivor turns around and sees the monster/slasher character right behind them.)
Valgavoth monsters consist of
Demon
Nightmare
horror
Avatar
Humans (influenced by Valgavoth or became psycho like the evil clown picture)
Toy (new type, and likely based on Chucky)
Treefolk/Plant/Construct (whichever one) (they are called Wickerfolk and they are constructs of made of wood and human remains)
Survivors/ team Marina Vendrell
(famous legends mentioned above types that don't have a spark)
Human
Glimmers (New type, they are based on hope for survivors that resemble, Childhood objects they had, Remembered Pets, or even love ones/friends)
Beast (known as beasties and they protect survivors, they are very furry and look silly and have a few kabuki like masks on the face, you can say they are monster inc, or sesame street like monsters)(heck theres a legendary human based on "Boo" in monsters inc called Toby, Beastie befriender
so Speculate away on what else we could see based on this info
Listening carefully to the preview panel and reflecting on it, here are my thoughts
Overlords
I think these were designed partly as references to the classic titan cycle, as so all the other ones will also have an enters or attacks trigger and have cost and stats somewhere around five or six. This green one is also reminiscent of Primeval Titan's ramping effect. Some of the others might be similar references.
Taking the names from the Planeswalker's Guide, we have:
Overlord of the Mistmoors (W)- Reanimating things or returning to hand? Maybe create spirit tokens, appropriate for the name and set.
Overlord of the Floodpits (U)- Could be tapping and stunning, maybe bounce to hand or library? Drown-y effect would fit the name.
Overlord of the Balemurk (B)- Could be token making like Grave Titan but I get the vibe for something like giving -N/-N or discarding cards.
Overlord of the Boilerbilges (R)- A burn effect would be a safe bet. Could be discard and drawing for delirium graveyard synergy, also fits the name I think.
Rooms
Reviewing the reveal panel, they really make it sound like this will be a big mechanic of the set. Here are the possibilities as I see them.
Rooms are a land type, possibly transforming DFCs-
This doesn't seem like it would have the level of presence in the set they describe. They also talk about rooms going through a lot of iterations and that doesn't seem that likely if they are lands.
Rooms are an outside-the-game element like dungeons-
This would be an easy way to give them a lot of representation on cards and you could have them feel different and do interesting things not being tied to a card, but this would probably get parasitic, and the way they talk about seeing them in packs makes me think the rooms themselves will be traditional cards not extra elements.
Rooms are an enchantment subtype-
This would fit with the enchantment subtheme and they have made a lot of unique enchantment types recently. Definitely possible. But would it be distinct enough for the way they make these cards sound?
Rooms are a new card type-
Would certainly be an easy way to let them tailor the design of rooms however they want. The introduction of Battles shows how they are willing to make new cardtypes to make a specific type of card work, but having recently introduced battles, I'm a little skeptical they would do it again this soon.
My best guess is it's an enchantment subtype with a special frame fitting the art that transforms back and forth in some fashion, with global enchantment type effects.
Face down mechanic
In the preview panel, they explicitly state that there will be a new facedown mechanic that is featured in the jump scare deck. We don't have a lot to go on, but here are some thoughts.
Facedown creatures on the field-
Possible. It's pretty soon after disguise though, but perhaps that could actually work as a nice synergy overlap for standard. I'm not sure what they would do for a distinct effect though, they've tried other variations on morph before that haven't worked and led them to Disguise.
Putting things facedown as enchantments, artifacts, or lands-
Given disguise shows the ability to put cards facedown as things other than just a 2/2, perhaps they could have you play cards facedown as a different permanent type. I'm dubious about how this would complicate keeping track of what facedown cards are. At least with Disguise they are still 2/2 creatures, and morph isn't in standard.
Facedown cast from exile-
The most likely category I think. This would be playing in similar space to Plot and Foretell, but I think there could be room for something else. Perhaps the mechanic is based around permanents that let you put something facedown and cast it once you met a condition, as a sort of trap laying jump scare appropriate effect where the card could be a lot of things? It could be cards that put themselves facedown and cast upon a condition, that would quite similar to traps but maybe they just liked this take on it.
Other mechanics
I suspect there will be at least one other named or type-based mechanic other than Delirium, Impending, Rooms and the facedown one. Perhaps that will be Miracle from the commander decks. I could also see Curses returning. Perhaps something kind of enchantments matter?
Commander Decks
I would note, Aminatou's deck has an enchantment theme as per the preview panel- "an enchantment deck that also features the Miracle mechanic". This would fit with there possibly being another enchantment related mechanic.
Planeswalkers
I'm pretty sure the sparked planeswalker will be Kaito or Niko Aris. We already know the Wanderer and Tyvar are desparked, and Aminatou being the one with a spark seems unlikely (although if Aminatou ends up only being in the commander decks, perhaps her card could still be a planeswalker).
Creature Types
I think there won't be any vampires or werewolves in this set, maybe zombies as well. They don't fit that well in this world, but also to differentiate things from Innistrad and its signature types, when we already have ghosts/spirits, and make room for the unique assemblage of horrors and nightmares of Duskmourn. If there are zombies, I think there won't be many.
I think Angels are definitely out for this set. I also think we won't have all three of Sphinxes, Dragons and Hydras, and any we do see will some form of horror or nightmare hybrid.
Merfolk seem rather out of place and unlikely, even as survivors from other planes. A few elves could be here as survivors, but I'm guessing not, Wickerfolk are a green type that can fill some of that space. Goblins look to be replaced by the gremlins here.
Maro also noted this is a bottom up set so its core design will be a mechanical one*
Planeswalkers
- If her only card is in the commander set I could see Aminatou still being sparked as that won't break the "1 walker per set rule"
-The artist for Kaito art said they where excited since it was "My first planeswalker art" so I think Kaito is sparked, Niko is not (Kaitos art is also the shape for walker cards)
Room
-Delirium is in the set so I could see Rooms being a new type to help fuel that or a type of land. Not sure if it will be DFC or maybe something more like Aftermath cards where there is new "modes" and similar to a split card lay out.
Creature types
-The walker guide shows what looks like an elf but as Duskmourn can have doors to itself open up to gain new victims so unknown elves are naive to the plane. That said having stuff like elves and such would help separate it from Innistrad where humans are the only non-monster people of the plane. Pre-house the plane was magically and technology advanced so I could see vedalken and kor filling in with W and U as they are creatures types know to be on advance tech planes. And I think we will see one or two off of omenpath travelers (like Nashi will get a card so we will have him as a rat card) so random creature types there. I said it would be intresting to have Arlinn and/or Sorin here (monsters on there world, survivors now on another) and while I don't think we will see them I think a similar idea would be cool with another Innistradi vampire or werewolf.
*the line of top down and bottom up is a lot more blurry now, example Bloomburrow also bottom up as the 10 typal pairs are main focus but the set stared out as "how do we do cute animal world".

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
inspiration for the set seems to be from this game (which I do play from time to time.)
I know the house changes from entering rooms in that and random events happen or items get picked up (omen items can trigger the haunt)
so maybe rooms function when creatures go inside as if entering the battlefield or a different kind of trigger like attacking, and could also trigger from the room changing, willing to be it’s a modal choice (maybe random)
