This is an idea that came to mind when I was reading over some of the story, but I'm wondering if this might be a flavor sort of theme for cards that fit in the teaser that MaRo gave us as a the title of this thread. In the story, Halo is a super-substance of some sort, and it was a gift from the angels. We've seen Halo created in one of the stories, and I was thinking about what this might look like in card form. And that got me thinking... Halo = Angels = White Mana = White Cards Capable of Drawing a Card Each Turn?
This is more of a gameplay/story integration speculation, but it does make me wonder if that teaser that we were given will be a pseudo-mechanic for White Mana alone, or if each single color might get its own mechanic in addition to the ones that will be given to each Three-Color Family. I'm just spit-balling here. Does anyone else have anything to say about this idea of mine? Any merit behind it, do you think? Or am I just talking out of my butt?
In my opinion white will just get access to connive. It is on the Esper Legendary Raffine at least. They always spread faction mechanics in 2 colored sets to some mono colored cards. Like Blade Instructor has mentor in Ravnica. I could see them doing something similar, here. The new keyword can easily be on an attack triggers, too. Whenever ~ attacks, connive 1. (Draw 1 card, then discard 1 card. Put a +1/+1 counter on this creature if you discard a nonland card this way.)
Lets hope that at least 1 of those cards is good enough to see play outside of limited.
There·s been talk of increasing white·s card draw ability with one card per set .
There was Farsight Adept , Flumph , and a handful of other cards exploring the design space of white getting "Each player draws a card" effects .
The idea being that each color would have its own kind of card draw ,
"Each player draws a card." (W)
"Draw X cards." (U)
"Pay n life draw n cards." (B)
"Exile, you may play them." (R) and
Hm , does anybody know what the green one is ?
Green just draws cards like blue. The draw is often bound to creature cards. Something like draw a card when a creature is cast or draw a card for each creature you control.
