I have never wanted something to be this real so hard in my entire life. And I do think it's real.
Literally one of the biggest complaints I hear all the time from people who don't play is that if Magic is so customizable why can't they have the character/settings they want. This is very much a step in that direction. That they are just alt art/title cards protects the integrity of the base IP as well, it's actually quite a brilliant way to bring other IPS in.
I imagine in the future they could even do other IPs as boxed sets with existing cards, similar to the hascon Un-stuff but playable. Marvel is probably the obvious one but I would like to see some other high fantasy drek also get cards. I mean look at what Lego did with its brand and how successful it has been, why wouldn't a company want to emulate that.
I for one welcome our new Kaiju overlords and look forward to having Transformers in the next Mirridon set and named D&D characters in the Core set.
It would be wild to me if they did this weird crossover just for Box Toppers and made Space Godzilla a legendary creature but Godzilla proper isn’t legendary. Makes no sense. Clearly they would have designed creatures to be stand-ins for film kaiju, so making the Godzilla stand-in a basic creature is like sacrilege.

It actually looks like they did the opposite. The made the kaiju fit the real cards and not the opposite.
Probably it makes sense. There will be few legendaries, maybe just 10-15. They will also be weird card types, so not many chance for godzilla.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

There are like 300 versions of Godzilla and we do not know how many box toppers. So Godzilla, Primal Champion may just be the Green version. There may very well be a Shin Godzilla, Godzilla, Earths Protector, etc.

Exactly
There’s more than one type of Godzilla but reminder they have to make room for thr other iconic Godzilla monsters
I'm bring that movie that have previous MTG collab to the discussion so people can compare because no one pointed it out in the earlier comments.
But were those cards ever actually physically made? I remember them doing that, but I can't seem to find physical cards and only images of the ones WotC created.
Look even they are box-toppers they need alternate names like Ryperior said and most of are already faulty to begin with. Do you really expect a card named GODZILLA and a non-legendary? thats pretty much dumb.
But they do have other names on them, just below the alternate name is the actual name of the card.
Look even this collab sense has a decent visual composition and address everything that a mtg card does compare to that fake that you accept that fault in the design and missed stuff to be true because of this statement
I'm not sure what the issue is here, these just look to be elaborate promos of what will be other existing cards where the only thing changed is the art and adding an additional name to the card.
This is the "kaiju set" so it would make sense to see promo art of the most famous kaiju.
The pack might be real but the cards are not, or if they are they are not legal but a "oh look we made a partneship with Sony and made those promos that you can use on your homebrews of commander" but even if soo the lack of any sony logo and the lack of the legendary border makes it clear the cards are fakes.
For why the cards are printed: they are foil, and proxi foil cards are easy to do, soo there is that.
You sure on that Hasbro has the license for Godzilla
But yea they have to have gotten permission from the company to do this
But here’s some errors team fake is missing (but these only apply if they did get permission from the company to actually do Godzilla characters as alt art for cards)
1 if you look under the name of the cards there’s another name probably the real name of the card of the set (so these are probably alt art and alt name)
2 the king Caesar ability one of maro hints was “x is the number of times this creature was mutated” it matches it
3 cycling is a claimed mechanic one of Gavin’s hints was 8-returning mechanics cycling is a mechanic
just know that this box topper is unlike anything Magic has ever done.
That would fit for this
1) We've seen fakes with this type of naming convention done before, largely copied from other games (this template borrows from an early UFS/UniVersus design for promotional cards).
2) The hint doesn't match accurately. Maro was quoting card text. If he was referencing it in design text, his words would of been "~", not "this creature".
3) Prowess, Dredge and Banding are also mechanics. The virtue of them being mechanics doesn't mean they are returning. Gavin saying eight are returning doesn't mean Cycling is definitely one of them.
4) They've also claimed many other things are unlike anything they've ever done in Magic. They said the same about Oko's release, WOTS increased PW number, Time Spiral's 'planeshifted' cards, the new release schedule, the release of C20 in conjunction with Ikoria. They've even said it about Bolas' first PW card. It's not something to get excited about if you've heard it so many times.
In future, I'd suggest you refrain from claiming 'team fake hasn't noticed'. Not raising something doesn't mean we haven't noticed, it means it's beneath our criticism, as they're things we consider self-evident in their fallacy, that we shouldn't need to point them out as they're obvious to the majority of onlookers.
The dinosaur in the middle has a jet fighter shooting at it... No way this is real.
Point outs
1 Hasbro does infact got the thumbs up from Toho to use the monster characters
2 king Caesar (whatever the creature actually name in the set) the text matches one of Maro’s teasers in Ikoria
3 the dinosaur with cycling Gavin’s teaser was 8-mechanics coming back
4 they said they are doing the box topper like never seen before this fits big time
5 as leslak pointed out the artist on each of the cards match their style and are proxy’s by wizards
6 two are not legendary but on further inspection the6 are uncommon and are probabl6 regular creatures in the sets
7 and ofcoarse you can’t find those images anyway
By the way there are multiple Godzilla’s to choose from they probably have the best one for a mythic alt art and alt name (if real anyway)
I can do lists too!
1) At current, the information presented is that Hasbro owns a license to produce and market Monopoly and Jenga themed games using material associated with the Toho properties of 'Godzilla'. A license to make card games is held by Jasco Games. The license for video games is between multiple studios. If you're going to give out information as facts, please make sure to list the facts.
2) As already established, it doesn't match the text Maro gave. It's based 'on' the text Maro gave, the same way as the fake Commander deck list was. Similarity is not 'the same' and is not 'matching'.
3) See previously: "Prowess, Dredge and Banding are also mechanics. The virtue of them being mechanics doesn't mean they are returning. Gavin saying eight are returning doesn't mean Cycling is definitely one of them."
4) See previously: "They've also claimed many other things are unlike anything they've ever done in Magic. They've even said it about Bolas' first PW card. It's not something to get excited about if you've heard it so many times."
5) As a cursory Google search revealed, all of those artists have worked on franchises outside of Magic before. Claiming it's 'their style' is irrelevant. It's whom commissioned the work that's important. (Fakes have credited real artists before, while pulling their work from non WOTC affiliated sources).
6) WOTC's own design and promotion rules prevent them releasing uncommon cards as Boxtoppers (see their documents on product design). Also, there being four different boxtoppers is unlikely, it actually lowers sales. See: Yu-Gi-Oh, UFS/UniVersus and MLP (also owned by Wizards). (As of last known iteration).
7) The arts are all available on Google, if you actually look. Saying 'you can't', when you've yourself not tried, is a fallacy.

All in all, those don't seem completely unbelievable.
But if they are real, I think it's a weird move to have the actual names of the stuff the cards are referencing on them, especially as the references are featured more prominently than the actual card's names - that's a great way to cause unnecessary confusion...
