I look things like Serra the benevolent as a result of the natural interest that the people that makes our cards got into this lore, and looking things like The Dark Barony, Barony Vampire, Elixir of Immortality and Kazarov, Sengir Pureblood (and other references to the baron and the homelands) makes me wonder if more homelands material is incomming, maybe in a standard set (without the gatewatch because it will be set into the past ) or in commander set and other masters and horizon sets.
Yeah but please no Baron Sengir. No more vampires. No more toys for edgar Markov
Unless he is strong enough to be the commander of its own decks or if they follow the color identity of his castleBRU if i had any hand on designing a new baron sengir card i would make hin BRUG (all colors minus W) this way they would have way more room for fitting all the family in the same deck.

The Baron is Grixis, not four color. There is no green in him, and none of his "family" has any green in them either.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
I suppose I could hope for Greensleeves. Garth One-Eye would be a fun surprise too.
Greensleeves would be awkward, she isn't a planeswalker… but she also is... and she summons creatures but doesn't control them...
How would you even begin to do that? Garth is NOT a walker, but his power level is higher than neo-walkers and he uses all 5 colors... such odd characters to try to make cards from.
The face cards don't need to be planeswalkers, you know.
Mu Yangling makes birds too... that's interesting...

Looking at Magic 2020; I see a lot of knights. There were a good number of them in Dominaria as well. I am starting to think we might see a White/Black/x Knight Commander in our future, which would be pretty cool. Please reprint Haakon!

Why should they reprint the worst legendary knight they have ever printed? All kidding aside, Haakon is ok, but pretty much worthless as your commander. In the 99 however, he is fine.

Haha yeah he would be cool in the 99. Unless they remade him to be multi color or something... idk if it makes sense with his flavor to be White/Black...

He's from Stromgald, so he should be either red/black, or Grixis.

Because her Global Series precon has a bird spirit 4/4 with flying for 3UU and WotC likes consistency?
Also, dinosaurs are much more popular than pirates, and they have a lot of catching up to do compared to the pirates.

Stormcloud Spirit? It's a spirit, not an elemental bird.
It's pretty clear they made it elemental for m20 limited synergies (no elementals in her precon, so consistency is not a reason), that's understandable
By why also throwing in the bird type? While we also have a bird legendary and a bird lord in standard? It's suspicious, i think one the c19 decks will be flying "tribal" and one of the commanders will stricly be bird tribal
Also, dinosaurs are much more popular than pirates, and they have a lot of catching up to do compared to the pirates.
Yeah pirates had like 20 garbage french vanilla cards. Meanwhile dinosaurs get more legendaries and 2-card combo cards. I hope that's not the reason, because it would be incredibly dumb even for wotc
But i don't know maybe it's too soon for a commander pirate deck. Let's hope for the fall set

Pirates do have a few good legendaries. Two come to mind. One of them was from Kaladesh mind you, but still. But on the other hand, Pirates do have some cards that are good, and surprisingly some of them are from older (as in pre-8th edition sets), Mercadian Masques for example had a few. But I do agree that the tribe needs more *playable* cards that aren't changelings. Not necessarily in a standard legal set mind you, but more in general. Wouldn't mind seeing Ramirez DiPietro getting a new card either.

New post, because it's been two days since last. But a thought just hit me, we've been looking at the wrong thing in Modern Horizons. What is the one theme in the set that was not already a strategy in Modern prior to the sets release? What if, and it keep in mind I may be way off here, but what if one of the commander decks is a blue/green or partially blue/green snow based deck? And each deck is themed around one the four seasons?

Well sultai etb triggers feels strange also the bab promo that gives creatures back to hand is a bit too specific for a core set with soo litle multicolored.
Also wonder if we gonna get a sacrifice land theme or a lands in grave(even with windgrace last year)
Also too much vampires lately.
2 it’s a bit weird to give it a dinosaur tribal ability since the Dino’s are rotating out of standards very soon
The only Dinos that are rotating are the Ixalan ones, the ones from the other sets remain in standard for a little while longer, plus since they finally accepted dinos back into the creature type fold (because they realized they're as popular as dragons), we can expect at least a couple of dinosaurs each year. And well, M20 has quite a few so far already.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
We need a Mardu legendary tribal knight. Red is the third most common color for Knights, and it was even past black for a while in the second spot. Bonus points if it has and grants flanking.

I had a theory earlier about naya creatures want to be damage matters and dinosaurs is the sub-theme
Well Marauding Raptor might have helped my theory
Because
1 it damages your own creatures when one enters

But a WBG or even WUBRG Knights deck would be cool. Dragons got a WUBRG deck, so why not Knights?
Though to be fair, Dominaria and M19 had Knight tribal themes as well.
