From chandra's comic book that takes place after the events of WAR. Chandra is obviously there, so is Ajani and Tibalt.
And Jace is basically the "face" of MTG and despite his many detractors, who complain about him loudly, he is without a doubt the single most popular planeswalker they have. Thus the chance of him dying is low to nonexistent.
We also know that Chandra is in mourning when the comic starts, which means it is likely that someone she cares about bites it in the set. The most likely one is Gideon, because his story is basically done. It's been done since Amonkhet. Nissa still has story to go, we knows she aids in the restoration of Amonkhet and Zendikar, thus it is unlikely she dies, she still has story to go. Lily is another planeswalker Chandra has feelings for, but her story isn't really done either, with both the Veil and the Raven Man storylines needing resolution. This pretty much only leaves Gideon and Jaya, and I think that (unfortunately), both of them will bite it in the set.

Actually I think Nissa is more likely to die because of the survivor's guilt that Chandra is going through in the comic. Of all her fellow gatewatchers, Nissa was the one she was closest to. That, and it's not unlikely that they're giving Nissa's green gatewatcher spot to Jiang Yanggu to make the gatewatch more interesting to the Chinese player-base. And just a lot of people in general because he kinda has more personality than Nissa to be honest.
I really doubt Dovin or Domri will die. They'll form the legion of doom with Ral and Bolas.
Oh and if we really are going to viking world next I'll add Sarkhan Vol to the reversible deaths list because you just know they're going to go full skyrim and Sarkhan will become the DragonReBorn.
I thought that Ral isn't pro Bolas and buffed up Niv for the defense of Ravnica?
I wouldn't mind a few losses on the bad guys site, too. It is a war after all.
I would like to see Gideon returning to Theros, his home plane and maybe take the place of Heliod in the pantheon after Ajani and Elspeth has dealt with him. If Gideon has to leave the planeswalker existent.

Ral was deceived by Bolas to take over and destabilize the Izzet because he (Ral) felt that Niv-Mizzet had become a poor guild-leader. Once Ral realized he had been manipulated by Bolas, he turns against him, just like Kaya does. The planar beacon is Ral's doing, and it is without a doubt Ral that powers up Niv.

Thinking about what MaRo has answered in his blog. He mentioned that we will see a second plane (not Amonkhet via the Bridge). Maybe a planeswalker that get a fatal blow and flees with the last breaths. This mean that the immortal sun have to be removed first.

Okay Gideon is missing. What a shame. Chandra is missing, too and we know she survives. :/

She's off dealing with the comic book story, not staying on Ravnica to clean up the mess...Gideon's absence is a bit odd.
No, not really, he'll likely die in this block. Probably in a dying moment of awesome saving someone. Kinda surprised that Vraska survives though, but I am glad she does. Seems like War will be the beginning of Lily's redemption arc.

There is a ton in that synopsis which doesn’t tell us anything.
Ramifications? Does Bolas win and they go back to get him? Does this just finish the story of the set in book form?
I am not pretending that list tells me anything other than those characters are in the book.

Bolas not winning is a foregone conclusion, just like Phyrexia's invasion of Dominaria would fail. Because if he won, then MTG would be over.

Thank heavens the Jace x vraska thing is gonna happen
Yep I saw this coming Gideon is definately a goner it might be something like in the Hercules Disney movie Which was “take me in megs place” Gideon May have done the same thing for liliana in some way
And here’s one scary one I don’t see Nissa on there and in the comic Chandra is feeling guilty for not saving a walker or whatever
But there could be more survivors we don’t know about.
Meh, Jace and Lavinia is the OTP. At this point I think all members of the gatewatch are probably gonna survive then though Nissa is not safe since she's technically no longer gatewatch...

having Gideon die before using the black blade on Bolas would be some Star Wars the Last Jedi level of throwing in the trash a previously built plotpoint.
I'm not sure WotC would go that way.
On the other hand they just introduced 2 new white planeswalkers (with Teyo most probably becoming a main character and the Wanderer probably never to be seen again) so... Teyo could take Gideon'r place like he took Elspet's.
I would be annoyed if Gideon would die. I liked especially his relationship with Lilli and I want to see where this is going. However he has a good chance to bite the dust, especially since the Gatewatch is a bit over represented on the "white" part.
People which have a good chance of getting a 10 on the Venser Scale are: Jaya, Dovin, Domri, Samut, Tezzeret, Sarkhan

Tezz survives, Sarkhan as well. I'd be surprised if Samut dies. The other two are however quite likely to bite it.

Yea absolutely they could go the Star Wars esc route too of saving liliana
Also I do feel Teyo will take gideons place that’s the big reason

tezzert, sarkhan and Samut likely to survive (by the way krishath what’s the source sarkhan survived this?)
The other 3 not so much especially Dormi
Oh one more thing for everybody that just accured to me
Barrel wasn’t invited because bolas knew he would kill walkers too and ruin everything right.
So... how did ugin get here? Because bolas thinks he’s dead right so wouldn’t of he not gotten a invitation because of that.

Sarkhan is immensely popular (not as popular as Jace, but still pretty damn popular), he also has a very distinct powerset compared to other red focused planeswalkers (The others are all about dealing damage, he is all about dragons, including turning into one), thus upping his chances of surviving. And he is also the one planeswalker we had who has successfully time traveled. (When Karn did it, he wasn't a planeswalker, and it was far from successful considering what it did to Tolaria). It would be silly of WotC to get rid of him.
Also, the beacon was a general call, not a targeted one. If it was targeted Teyo wouldn't be there as he sparked just before the call went out. Some walkers simply chose not to heed it, some were curious, and some, like the Gatewatch knew they were walking into a trap but chose to go anyway because they oppose Bolas. It wasn't Bolas that lit the beacon, it was Ral, just as Bolas planned.

We saw the picture of the planeswalker and the background of Ugin's card looks a little weird, non-ravnica. Could be Tezzeret in Amonkhet.
He said specifically that it is not Amonkhet nor the new plane from the fall set.
