And yes, this is from Channel Fireball, not Wotsee, but they do have their fingers on the pulse of the Magic community, so I would take the thoughts of the usual suspects as a strong notion of what's to come.
As a trader on Puca Trade, I have noticed a lot of folks are trying to get a play set of Ancient Stirrings, so if you have any on reserve, trade them off or sell them while they still hold their price tag, as a banning will tank their value.
On a side note... are cards even restricted now? Seams like it's all or nothing, either legal or banned.
We just had the last list update a couple weeks ago saying no changes. It feels absolutely ridiculous that within a week of that statement, WOTC changed its mind. That thought is doubled down when realizing that the alleged problems in modern of Tron, KCI, Hollow One, and Vengevine, were not significant in the most recent GP.
That article should be treated solely as an opinion of the author both on bans and unbans. If someone wants to use that to make a decision, that is his or her business. It definitely is not evidence of any incoming decision. Also...Stirrings is like $4 and Looting less than that. There's no big risk of loss if someone has a playset. In short, this claim of yours is without substance.
FYI, Restriction is only done in Vintage because it doesn't ban any cards except those that do not function within the rules of the game (Ante, Dexterity, Subgame, and Conspiracy-typed cards).

Meanwhile, here are the cards that can potentially get the slap on the wrist: Krark-Clan Ironworks, Ancient Stirrings & Faithless Looting.
