There was a pattern to the set initials for the last two Ravnica blocks.
Ravnica - Guildpact - Dissension
Return to Ravnica - Gatecrash - Dragon's Maze
Now with Guilds of Ravnica - Ravnica Allegiance, we have G-R announced, breaking the R-G-D pattern. Oh no!
Is this some kind of a clue for the pattern-craving Magic populace? Let your voice be heard!
Also feel free to speculate on the unnamed 3rd set's name or story importance here.
Killing of their most popular plane would be IP suicide. Not going to happen. I am half expecting something like "Dragon War" or something of that nature. It will end with Bolas getting his ass kicked, with Vraska and Tezzeret turning on him at a crucial moment and/or Ugin and Sarkhan coming out of nowhere and teaming up with the guild-leaders and the local planeswalkers to take the original elder dragon down a notch or two. Bonus points if a planeswalker of Umezawa descent gets involved.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).

Beating us to death by a whole year of their currently most popular plane sounds only slightly better than an IP suicide to me...

As opposed to the whole year that we spent with every block up until Battle for Zendikar? And that's also assuming the third set plays out like the last two, which isn't in line with what they stated. How true that'll hold is up in the air, but given Ravnica's thing is dual colors it doesn't seem that hard to avoid pushing that.

You obviously don't get just how popular Ravnica is. The original Ravnica saved the legendary type after the abortion that was Kamigawa block by doing legendary creatures right, it also gave us our first true dual lands since the originals, and created an incredibly fun and varied standard environment. Even the weakest of the guilds in the original block (Orzhov and Boros) became incredibly popular. Additionally, the guild names became shorthand for the various two color combinations. Even new players quickly pick up on this terminology. The return to the Plane in RTR block, cemented the planes popularity in a way WotC failed to do with the return to both Mirrodin, Zendikar, and Innistrad. In part this is because each of the ten guilds have a very clear identity that speaks volumes to the player base. Ravnica is basically the perfect world for the MTG IP, which is why it has replaced Dominaria as the center of the multiverse in stories. Killing the plane would damage M:TG immensely, perhaps beyond salvation.

Hey, remember when blocks of three consecutive sets located on the same plane and developing the same story arc was simply called Magic: the Gathering? This has been the norm since forever up until just a few years ago, and now a one-off on their most popular plane is suddenly a disaster? People will complain about anything.
Not even considering that the last Ravnica set is prospected not to be another classic Ravnica themed set, just using Ravnica as the location.
