In Ixalan we got a good variation of different species of dinosaur. Mainly Tyrannosaurs, Sauropods, Raptors, and Cerasaurs.
In rivals we're likely to get more, so I thought I'd make a thread sharing my predictions, and see if anyone has any more.
1. Parasaurolophus. We saw on in Ixalan, however it was just prey for Ranging Raptors im sure this species will be represented in RoI.
2. Dilophosaurus. The spitting dinosaur from Jurassic Park. Now there's no fossil evidence for it's spitting ability, but that's what everyone thinks of when they think of this dinosaur. I think it's too iconic for them not to design a card around this.
3. Procompsognathus. Compies!! These little scavengers would make a great card. I can see them being. something like a graveyard based scute mob, as creatures die the swarm grows.
4. Archaeoptryx. I could see this being Mana producing dinosaur. Maybe:
1G creature-dinosaur, 0/1
Tap add either WG, GR, or RW to your Mana pool use this Mana only to cast Dinosaur spells.
5. Baryonyx. This one's a little far fetched. I was trying to think of a large carnivore. It's a cool dino, but I just don't think many people would recognize it.
As far as returning Dinosaurs breeds, we will certainly have more raptors and rexes. My only prediction here is that we get more Stegosaurs, and less Cerasaurs. Their roles seem very interchangable.
I've got one last prediction: a dinosaur flipland. Basically the idea is a dinosaur graveyard.

I just want to see a colorless or very color light (ideally colorless) Dino with a high cmc and some serious impact. If it were strong, I could see replacing Wurmcoil in Tron because Commune with Dinosaurs just has so much potential.

3. Procompsognathus. Compies!! These little scavengers would make a great card. I can see them being. something like a graveyard based scute mob, as creatures die the swarm grows.

With using the bright and/or tropical colored feathers for the Dinosaurs I think an Archaeoptryx as a "fixed" birds of paradise would be cool. Maybe its GW to justify having flying?
Personally I could see less rexes and raptors and more of the other types of Dinos simplely cause (imo) the better dinosaur cards feature raptors or rexes.

I don't really see the point in having colorless dinosaurs in Rivals because of the tribes themes locking them into their certain colors. If a creature is colorless I'd think it be similar to Adaptive Automaton that changes creature type based on your choice so all the tribes can use it.

For the compies I was thinking something along the lines of a cheap monogreen or red green creature with whenever a creature dies put a +1/+1 counter on it.
I could definitely see less rexes and raptors as well. There's just not that many iconic carnivores to replace them with. We did already get one spinesaurus.
I think the bloodthirst would be interesting and on theme. With Dinos but also with the Vamps. That or more fighting-based mechanics for the Dinos to work with the enrage tech.

Or an artifact. No reason for a colorless dinosaur to be just in the jungle, but imagine the golden city gate is protected by some animated statue. The great guardian that is the last test for those seeking the power.
I'm not saying it will happen, or that it's even likely, but look at the last few blocks of story and tell me that wouldn't be more interesting than what they are actually likely to do.

I hadn't thought of bloodthirst, but it does make flavor sense. For both tribes really, especially vamps in the middle of a blood fast.

It get that and that is a cool idea for a dinosaur card, but thanks to Jurassic Park most pop culture thoughts of copies are the tiny swimming carninvoirs and Ranging Raptors seems to have taken that flavor. Not saying Compies are off the table just saying that wizards has decided to make Ixalan versions of compies raptors.
I could definitely see less rexes and raptors as well. There's just not that many iconic carnivores to replace them with. We did already get one spinesaurus.
Well you made a good list in your OP of a few more options, but in general I think Ixalan hit most of the popular dinosaurs.

Sure, but once again it doesn't mesh with the mechanics of the set, Dinosaurs and Dinosaur matter cards are RGW and making a colorless and/or artifact doesn't really make sense since mechanically it would be better used as a "choose a creature type card". Their is literally no point.

It's all just speculation, but there's a few things.
1. Binding magic is his specialty, and there seems to a lot of binding magic in play.
2. Dinosaurs have feathers and so does he.
3. A winged beast took the immortal sun from the vampires.
Not conclusive evidence by any means but it's a fun theory. I think he'd make a great Quetzalcoatl.
I just want a dinosaur that gives you an additional combat phase by etb or by paying, to synergize with Gishath
Ohhh that be an awesome Dino! Shame we didn't get that on Burning Sun's Avatar.

I know this is a prediction thread on the art direction of Dinosaurs, but there are some pretty big needs mechanically.
Dinosaurs Need Board Interaction Effects
Dinosaurs are in dire need of some board interactions. They are a tribe with a singular focus: to beatdown the opponent with size and numbers. But, if they are to be just that, they need some support. Dinosaurs had their own mechanic, Enrage, but it was sparsely used. With only 7 cards with the ability and all of them on higher CMC cards (save for Ranging Raptors at the 3 slot), the mechanic was explored and supported very little. (Probably due to them not knowing how big of an impact it might have by showing up in lower CMC's and just how powerful it could be overall.) Still, there are a few mechanics they could use to flesh out enrage. Some might be too powerful as an Enrage trigger, though, and might be better suited as an ETB. With that said, here is a list of effects that would greatly help Dinosaurs as a tribe. (Not everything on this list is meant to be great in every format. Some are niche.)
1. A Dinosaur with a "Naturalize" effect.
2. A Dinosaur with a bounce/flicker effect. (See Temur Sabertooth, Whitemane Lion, etc.)
3. A Dinosaur "lord" that gives trample.
4. More Dinosaurs or artifact(s)/enchantment(s) that make(s) more tokens.
5. A card that can make dinosaurs temporarily Indestructible. (Preferably a permanent that can be activated repeatably, but at steep cost.)
6. A Dinosaur that has a repeatable "fight" mechanic. (...Especially since that seems to be the tribes primary means of removal. Yes, one of the Huatli Planewswalker cards has this, but it would be better as a creature and in either G or RG since those are actually the colors of the larger dinosaurs.)
There are probably more I haven't thought of just now, but I feel these are some of the biggest needs for the tribe across multiple formats. There are many needs (including 1. and 3. on the list) for the creature type to be a strong force in competitive settings - tribally speaking - including lower CMC creatures. The Tribe could use all of the listed changes plus more support cards in EDH/Commander.
Feel free to add more if you think of them.

Next up with the heck diden't they make a allosaurus in ixalan 1 I hope to see one in 2
I diden't see a iguanodon either which saddened me hope to see one here
A Lambeosaurus would be a nice sight on a card
We got oviraptor what about the Struthiomimus?
And ofcoarse Parasaurolophus we got teased with ranging raptors since one of those is the prey of those guys.
Great suggestions!! They could definitely make a lambeosaur look amazing and colorful in this next set.
I was thinking Thundering Spineback was an iguanadon, but I could be wrong.

If it doesn't have both deathtouch and first strike, I'll be pretty pissed.
It spits venom.
Only issues is First Strike and Deathtouch is consider a super powerful combo they don't like to too much outside of rare and just having a rare with those two abilities would be a little lack luster (thought powerful).
Maybe we get for the GW uncommon, I was very disappointed by Belligerent Brontodon and I don't think we have seen that combo in GW yet.
Frills on a dilophosaurus are fake it has no frills that's just Jurassic park screwing up scientic accuracy as usually
But they may do this design just because of how more popular it is.
We already know give the chance creative will go with the popular and/or mechanical over accurate most of the time, we already seen that with Pterosaurs being labeled as dinosaurs since they wanted flying dinosaurs as well as most people believing that are dinosaurs. That said I'd love to see an Ixalan Dilo with a feathered frill.
I think thats a pretty good list. Personally I'm running Kindred Boon so the indestructible part is somewhat covered already.
The recursion card could also be a cheap green Sun Empire cleric/warrior who you can a bit later game sac to get a dino back. Since they seemingly want to avoid 1 mana costed dinosaurs, I'd like seeing a few more cheap humans who are okay early game and get better over time in dinosaur decks like Drover of the Mighty or Priest of the Wakening Sun. A fight enabler could also work here.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

I think thats a safe thing to say about all the tribes. For the most part all the tribes had good based and frame work but defiantly need a few more parts.

Elspeth and Jhoira rock my world.
They've got to do a Dinosaur Egg card at some point. The obvious choice being that it produces a 3/3 green Dinosaur token with trample.
