The card is Hijack. It is a reprint (approprately enough, from the last block that had vehicles). I don't think it's saying anything about potential planeswalker abilities so much as "He's a pirate captain, and as such, is a good choice in an illustration about hijacking ships".
Ajani is a Cat planeswalker. Nissa is an Elf planeswalker. Xenagos was a Satyr planeswalker. Venser is a dead planeswalker.
Hoping we see Angrath in Rivals, and I wouldn't mind seeing more humanoid races like Aven, Centaur, and Naga in the near future.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

You forgot Dovin is a vedalken and Daretti... Not to mention Vraska
You both forgot Nicol Bolas.
What, no mention of Tibalt? A Devil planeswalker....... Who am I kidding there is just no love for Tibalt.
But then of course, there is Kiora the Merfolk planeswalker, Tamiyo the Moonfolk planeswalker, Arlinn the werewolf planeswalker, Karn the Golem planeswalker, Ob Nixilis the Demon planeswalker and finally Ashiok, the um.... what exactly is Ashiok?
In honesty, the list of different types of planeswalkers out there is already quite diverse.

Extremely. About a third of them are clearly a non-Human racial creature type and another third are stand-ins for non-Human racial creature types (like Kaya for Spirits and Garruk for Beasts - not technically being those, but emulating them or closely being associated with them). And it's not looking like they are planning to stop with the diversity.

Anyway, Angrath uses chains and likes mayhem, so perhaps he gets something like Mark for Death? Actually, that'd work great for Pirates. Question is, monored or BR?

Probably BR because
Jace UU
Vraska BG
Huatli RW
Ajani GW
And need to add another B and R to finish the cycle.

Also, Minotaurs are mostly in BR, especially after Amonkhet, so he would fit nicely in Minotaur EDH decks. But mono-R is still not off the table, slight imbalance in planeswalker colors in a set is nothing unheard of.

-I'm ok in BR Angrath but for me Ajani can be WW this time (At least his PW-Deck version to can fit in Vampire deck)
Ixalan- Jace (Melforks) vs Huatli (Dinos)
Rivals- Angarth (Pirates) vs Ajani (Vampires)
Why the hell would Ajani lead Vampires? They share a color, that's true, but that's about it. They wouldn't agree on a single thing. So either the Vamps don't get their PW deck (they got a commander deck after all), or some other walker joins the party in Rivals.
Ajani shows up and brings together the driads/tree people to fight the pirates in a out of no where battle. Magic players.....:weird: I don't see Ajani doing anything here beside side kick support. Maybe he brings the portal from Kalidesh with him? I don't see the vamps working with Ajani as there is a major philosophical challenge.
It would be interesting to see the merfolk and dino riders unite to fight a combined pirate/vamp conquistador army. What if Angrath was printed in try color? No blue. He unites the fleets on the water to take on "x" army of good guys? The real question you all should be asking is, what side is Vraska on?

Unlikely. If he isn't UBR or a subset of that, all the Pirate fans would riot...

The pirates are the descendants of people who were driven away from another continent on Ixalan by the vamps, so they're unlikely to work together.
Also, Ajani doesn't have the core of the Planar Bridge, but Tezzeret did and now Bolas is using it to (presumably) transport his shiny new army.
Minnitors are never blue. Right????
Black and red would cover pirates and vampires to some extent. White could be added as we have seen boros versions of said creature type.
Pirates in this set are mehhh to me as they are really fragmented in win conditions. IMO only.
I see Angrath kicking becket brasses butt to form an alliance with vamps. Easiest way to write an epic battle. The question is over what are they fighting for?
Treasure?
Power source?
Is the plain/planet maybe a “stax” plainswalker itself controling other plainswalkers like a leach?
Angrath imo might be our first land destruction plainswalker besides ajani. Or they could team up out of nowhere and confuse the hell out of me.
A gorgon, human, minnator, and leonin walk into a stax plain.....best beginning of a joke.
In the old lore, isn't there an old PW Minotaur that gets banished to the ends of the multiverse where he'd never return from in many lifetimes? I wonder if this is him? Not sure on the name of the old character.

Though that info mentions that despite being banished to a plane for a millenium, he was called to Dominaria after only 70 years. Maybe this forthcoming Dominaria visit fills in some gaps.
Monored Angrath is more flexible in terms of what decks can play him. He may not be part blue himself, but his PW deck could still run UR Pirates in contrast to Vraska's presumed Explore-focused deck.
Of course we could be totally wrong about Vraska getting a PW deck at all, and Angrath's deck could end up BR with the other deck being GW, WU, or GU.

First of all, we have no indication that Ajani will appear in this block at all other than those packaging leaks we got so long ago that use assets that we obviously aren't getting (This set is not called Atlazan, the next set is not Conquest of Power). Furthermore, in that leak we saw Hautli on the pack art of the second set and here she is in the first set of the block instead. My point? That packaging leak isn't a good source for facts about this block at all.
Now as for the in-universe reasons: Ajani has no reason to be on Ixalan. "But he's obviously there to save Jace!" Ajani doesn't know that Jace is on Ixalan. None of the Gatewatch does. No planeswalker knows where Jace is except Vraska and maybe Bolas. Ajani doesn't even know where Ixalan is because if he had ever planeswalked there prior he would still be stuck there just like Angrath. Furthermore, Ajani doesn't even know that the Gatewatch went to Amonkhet and he certainly doesn't know that they fought Bolas and lost. Why? Because he plainly stated that he is going to Dominaria. Dominaria. The next plane we're visiting after Ixalan. I don't know about you, but I think that if they used art from one set before the imaginary set "Conquest of Power" for its test packing with Haulti, I don't think it's that far fetches that they would also use art from one set in the future for its test packaging.
Anyway, I really hope Angrath is mono-Red.

Maybe we'll find out the Bat-God of Night has been a planeswalker all along and resides in the Golden City and we get to have a surprise monoblack planeswalker villain that will appear as the head of the Vampire-themed planeswalker deck. That would wrap up everything neatly.
Really, I have no satisfying answer for what's at the end of the race for the Lost City of McGuffin. Will it help tie together the story threads and help allow planeswalkers to leave the plane so Jace can try to find his buddies after this solo-arc (possibly even with help of Vraska considering some flavor text hints).
