Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Generally speaking, I would like them to revisit some old themes without neccesarily making it the main theme of the deck. Like another set of Planeswalkers that can be the commander (maybe 2 color even?) or another cycle of partners (allied ones so you have two options per color combo or maybe even 3 color ones so you can go 5 color partner).
I would also like to see more decks revolving around block themes with added cards to reinforce the possibility of said blocktheme to be a commander option. I think an energy deck could be cool with a little more support, as could proliferate if more cards with Atraxa's ability were printed.
What I would also like is some sort of vanguard where you basically start with a sort of emblem in your command zone that changes something about how you play the game.
And what would absolutely be the best would be something that could somehow add a color to your commanders color identity so you can branch out existing archetypes with different colors. I'd love for my Noyan Dar deck to be able to incorporate green into it for example.

UB - Ninja Tribal - Featuring a lot of sneaky tricks and evasive tactics to sabotage your opponents.
Sounds more like it would fit a UB evasion style focused on getting unblocked hits on the opponent, not limited to just ninjas.
Agreed on this.
With only one block with any ninjas, there'd be a pretty shallow pool of cards to draw reprints from.
Additionally, Planechase 2 already had a ninja deck.
However, the unblockable/"saboteur" design space is one I don't think we've ever seen a secondary product based around, other than that ninja deck.
Ninjas are a tribal version of "deals combat damage to the opponent, do this" which has a collection of creatures and some support that rewards dealing combat damage to the opponent.
The question is, what planeswalkers might you base four themes around? Last time they used the opportunity to give walker cards to old characters who never had the chance. Maybe it will be similar this time - so who are the candidates?
- Jaya Ballard (yes she will likely be in dominaria, but as a de-sparked mage)
- Urza (seems unlikely to me but y'never know)
- Leshrac (possibly relevant if the Raven Man = Lim-Dûl theory is proven correct)
- Azor (new players would be familiar with him and it'd be cool to see him in walker form)

I'd be surprised if we didn't get Serra. I think her and Urza where the biggest ones people where hoping for the first time around.

I think we could see Izzet colored Urza as the "Izzet Artifact Commander" people have wanted for years it would be a little strange for Urza who is almost the poster boy for Mono Blue to dip into red but he could have an odd ult that involves randomness, besides it gives us the meta joke of "0 : Create an Ornithopter token" for him
I'd be surprised if we didn't get Serra. I think her and Urza where the biggest ones people where hoping for the first time around.
Oh yeah, I totally should have put her on the list I'd love to see that, too. Her name is on one of Magic's most iconic cards. About time she got a card of her own (and Vanguard doesn't count XD)
Hope second times a charm on getting a urza card in one of these
I mean they were stupid enough to not make him the commander In the no green deck of 2016 especially since it was the first actual authentic artifact matters commander.
And MaRo said urza in unstable was to increase the chance of making a black bordered version of him
I'd be surprised if we didn't get Serra. I think her and Urza where the biggest ones people where hoping for the first time around.

It depends on if they keep up with the "rule" of planeswalker cards being only post-mending (aka not all-powerful) planeswalkers. Urza and Serra are both pre-mending and died pre-mending, so in theory they shouldn't be eligible for planeswalker cards. I realize Urza got one in Unstable, but I'm not counting that for now given that it is silver-bordered. The Ugin, Liliana and Nicol Bolas planeswalker cards are all representations of them post-mending, as far as I know.
That said, yes I would LOVE a Serra planeswalker. With the "can be your commander" ability (though that would mean she'd have to be a bit weaker) with an angel tribal and enchantment-focused deck.
My guess is that we will get multicolor planeswalker commanders, though not necessarily with even color representation.

4/5 of the commander planeswalkers were showing them as old walkers (Nahiri, Teferi, Ob and Freyalise) and Ugin card was in Fate Reforge which was in the past pre mending.
They have re-flavored planeswalkers cards, they now show the walkers in a "snap shot" (in time or whatever spells they have prepared for you at the time of you calling for help) and don't always show the full power the walker has.

I don't either but as for karn
WRONG!!!
The Dominaria set would be way to close to the commander set for karn to get a card there.

They have printed two versions of a walker in a single block (Sarkhan in Tarkir) and Adjacent sets, Nissa in M15, Origins, Kaladesh (including PW deck), Ammonket, and Hour of Devistation.
Karn is fair game for Commander 2018.

It's gonna happen eventually so for this artifact or land or tribal with eldrazi/myr/construct/golem.
BRG -1/-1 counters
When tribal revisit happens
WUBRG spirit tribal (this almost happened but dragons ruined everything he said that in the blog about the dragons deck)
Planes theme could be plausible the best candidates go to
Ravnica
Zendikar
Mirridon
New/old phyrexia (make yawgmoth happen wizards)
Innistrad
Dominaria
And finally theoros (a enchantment focused deck)
And ofcoars type focused
Enchantment
Artifact (done twice so far 14 and 16)
Instant/sorcery
Land
Creature (chance animar took this spot already)
Sounds more like it would fit a UB evasion style focused on getting unblocked hits on the opponent, not limited to just ninjas.
Agreed on this.
With only one block with any ninjas, there'd be a pretty shallow pool of cards to draw reprints from.
Additionally, Planechase 2 already had a ninja deck.
However, the unblockable/"saboteur" design space is one I don't think we've ever seen a secondary product based around, other than that ninja deck.
On 7/14/10, broke 1900 mark! <3 ROE.
Ninjas are a tribal version of "deals combat damage to the opponent, do this" which has a collection of creatures and some support that rewards dealing combat damage to the opponent.

looks like commander 2018 page is up now and a particaully line ponders me
are next theme might be focused on a planeswalkers aka doing commander 2014 again but this time focused on the walker.
I know there are people that are sick of Planeswalkers but honestly they are my favorite card type, next to Enchantments. I'm stoked!
The Vorthos community will await the consequences of the Eldrazi Titans' deaths/sealing. We will keep the watch.
“The wind whispers, ‘come home,’ but I cannot.”
— Teferi
- Jaya Ballard (yes she will likely be in dominaria, but as a de-sparked mage)
- Urza (seems unlikely to me but y'never know)
- Leshrac (possibly relevant if the Raven Man = Lim-Dûl theory is proven correct)
- Azor (new players would be familiar with him and it'd be cool to see him in walker form)
What do y'all think?
I'd be surprised if we didn't get Serra. I think her and Urza where the biggest ones people where hoping for the first time around.

Dragons of Legend, Lead by Scion of the UR-Dragon
The Gitrog Monster
Gonti, Lord of Luxury
Shogun Saskia
Hive World
Atraxa hates fun
Abzan
Oh yeah, I totally should have put her on the list I'd love to see that, too. Her name is on one of Magic's most iconic cards. About time she got a card of her own (and Vanguard doesn't count XD)
Hope second times a charm on getting a urza card in one of these
I mean they were stupid enough to not make him the commander In the no green deck of 2016 especially since it was the first actual authentic artifact matters commander.
And MaRo said urza in unstable was to increase the chance of making a black bordered version of him
It depends on if they keep up with the "rule" of planeswalker cards being only post-mending (aka not all-powerful) planeswalkers.

But I would not expect colorless here
Alternatively {UB} or {2B} in [mana] tags are (U/B) or (2/B)
T is :symtap: and T will give T in [mana] tags
I don't either but as for karn
WRONG!!!
The Dominaria set would be way to close to the commander set for karn to get a card there.
Karn is fair game for Commander 2018.
