Because Amonkhet is dealing with gods (again), I was thinking that they may do something completely different from Devotion to demonstrate the gods' power, and my idea is: Favor.
Now I'm basing this off of Age of Mythology, so hear me out.
In the game itself, there are three factions: ancient Greeks, Norse and Egyptians. In the main mechanics of the game, each faction has their way of generating something called "favor" which let them create mythical beings based on that culture's mythology.
The Egyptians used things called monuments to gain favor. The more monuments you had the faster your favor accumulated.
Because the basic land art shows monuments in it aside from the Bolas horns, it made me think of the Egyptian faction from Age of Mythology and I was contemplating a Favor-based mechanic somewhat akin to the way energy works, for example:
Favor (At the beginning of your upkeep or [some trigger/condition], if you control a monument, you get F [favor counters])
T, Pay 2 Favor: Create a 3/3 crocodile with first strike.
It's a loose design but it could work along those lines.

The big problem is this is functionally identical to energy. Even if they were gonna make a parasitic keyword be that core to the set, there is literally no difference between favour and energy, apart from their flavour, which isn't enough, especially considering they're both in standard together.
Jokes aside, that'd be a sweet mechanic. Maybe an artifact for 1 or 0 mana, and it read "tap an untapped creature: put a build counter on ~. When ~ has X build counters, (insert huge effect here)". Maybe it could cost mana AND tapping, so "1, tap an untapped creature, put a build counter on ~".
Good grief, are we finally going to be able to "erect a monument" (*snicker*) in magic?
That is an obscure joke, but I literally think there's a better chance of the Gods of Amonkhet being powered by Contraptions than by any parasitic keyword.
