Kaladesh seems like the perfect opportunity to have some more Angels represented by people of color (poc). Although Angels aren't necessarily bound by the racial makeup of any plane, I simply don't see why not. Furthermore, Kaladesh having some likely riffs on its source inspo (India), as any plane having its own spin on a real-world mythology, it would be interesting to see if they go the Deva route. In Hinduism Deva are (in very short) angelic deities, and male. Devi for female. Though they don't physically represent how Angels in Magic are, the ideology is there. Not to mention Deva are already a thing in DnD/Forgotten Realms.
And it wouldn't be the first time the Angels of mtg have an Indian influence at least in name, as the Asura on Bant are (likely) inspired by Asura in Indian mythology, save for the fact that they're seen as evil in the latter.
Anyway, I say yes please to Angels on Kaladesh. They would look really beautiful with the block's style.
I think they'll likely break from the norm of white wings and human looking to do something different. I would like to see them using light energy to form wings.
Yeah, aesthetically more Pristine Angel than Filigree Angel if anything, for me. I don't think they'd need artifact in their type, but mechanically if they were tied to the artifice on the plane it would indeed be interesting.
Yeh, I'm also aboard the artifact hype train for Kaladesh, but I think there will be one more group of whatever, whether they introduce tokens or whatever it is, due to Eldrazi being colourless in 3 sets this past year I highly doubt Kaladesh will be fully artifact based. You may see things like Platinum Angel reprinted.
Kaladesh would be a terrible place to have angels. It doesn't fit with the South Asian flavor at all. I would much rather Avatars, which IS a South Asian concept.

Yeah that's what I meant when I said they weren't Angels in the physical sense that they are in Magic. It would be really cool to see them in Avatar/deity form. But I suppose given the strict style guide of magic, they wouldn't have creature type angel, would they...
Additionally, I don't really get the vibe from Kaladesh that they do actually worship any sort of higher beings. Not yet anyway
If there are any angels I expect them to be man made works of art come to life or some guardian esque thing at a workshop than what most planes have them at. A Clockwork Angel maybe?
Edit: As it's a bottom up set, based on what they've said, they'll start with the mechanics first, then get some people to help name them, so I would not be surprised if we saw one or more angel-type entities, perhaps artifact ones, named and done art style of Kinnara. Perhaps something like 'Mechanical Kinnara', with a type line of artifact creature - harpy angel.
I'd guess that the angels on Bant being called Asura is more a Buddhist thing than Indian, where they aren't really as bad. But who knows, not sure it's ever been talked about by Wizards.
As for the topic, yes I would like to see angels. Theros and Tarkir had no angels, in spite of being able to do thematic concepts like them without issue (plus Greece is where the word even comes from), and Innistrad featured them being corrupted. Would be nice to see a more exotic take on them like we've gotten with demons in Tarkir.
Whether or not we will get them is totally up in the air though. We barely know anything about Kaladesh. I would hazard a guess we might not see them, but it's really hard to say. Maybe once we see more about what Kaladesh is like other than very broad strokes it'll be easier to predict. The theme they're going for with it could result in some interesting angels.
Can't wait to see how they function/interact with artifacts.
We will get at least one, and it looks awesome. The Dragon and the Leviathan as well for that matter. Kaladesh is shaping up to be a massively awesome set.

Oh, that's neat, completely missed that. Thanks, all I saw was the first sword somehow. Focused more on the headgear the angel seemed to be wearing. Well that makes me a bit happier.
Angels with 4 arms (stolen from poor vedalkens) and a bad sunburn.
Or you could see them as representative of people of color... Red IS a color, right?
Yeah, yeah, I know, hindu iconography and all the rest.
Yet I can't shake the idea that they have a damn really bad sunburn... Flying at high altitude and without cover, they are bound to take in a high amount of UV rays, right?
Not many people actually realize this, but angels have been a part of Indian mythology for longer than the Indian civilization has existed. They are usually referred to as Deva however, but the appearance is the same as classical western angels with only minor variations.

Hmmm... return of colored artifacts, maybe?

Archons/Avatars look more realistic for Kaladesh.
