Or Marit Lage, or another eldricth abomination with lots of tentacles, like, oh, I don't know, Yog-Sototh or Azatoth.
The article mentions the unique coloration (pinks, blues, magentas) as well as emphasis on the fact that the (admittedly kind of varied in look) lattice structures are all connected and important. I thought it was interesting they even seperared the lattice symbolism and the actual mutations as seperate hints (meaning that there are physical mutations and things that are more symbolic and meant to encourage paranoia rather than being actual mutations or occurences, explaining why the lattice would show up in the clouds, for example, even though Emrakul is currently only stated to affect biological things). There's no benefit in being contrarian about what the implications are. At best it could be an intentional red herring at this point since the intended implication is very loud and clear.
Someone actually pointed out the lattice in the clouds on the lands here, and I personally didn't think that was anything myself, so good on whoever first pointed that. I think it was Jenrik was the first person I saw mention it.

They didn't care that he was the savior of Fort Keff, the great hunter of Ondu, the champion of Kabira. To them, he was just another piece of flesh, a thing with life to be drained away.

Yep. I had noticed it before and suspected it was Emrakul. Most thought I was just seeing shapes in the clouds (lol), glad to see it was something legit. Pretty neat article, but I really wish we could commence with the core story already.
I think it would be a bad decision for wizards to put Emrakul into the SOI story mostly because of how rushed it would be. The Gatewatch just killed 2/3 of the Eldrazi titans and are on the lookout for the last one, Jace heads to Sorin's homeplane to see if he can find any clues to the vampires whereabouts, and by coincidence not only is Nahiri (who Sorin was sent to look for, though it seems like he had guesses to her location) on the plane, but so is the last of the Eldrazi titans. I get that WotC now knows that most people don't like the Eldrazi, but most of that reactions is from BFZ block, which they already did probably all of the planning for SOI block before they get those reactions, so why would they want to wrap up the Eldrazi storyline so quickly?
I did...but not the fifth leg on Stallion of Ashmouth, or the tentacle on Tooth Collector coming from his sleeve.
But he did quite a couple of nonsensical examples - Hound of the Farbogs pink mouth (just a zombie dog), the "lattice" texture on Lightning Axe is just a normal ornamental metalwork, Lambholt Pacifist and Uninvited Geist are REALLY stretching it.
And he totally omitted one card with probably the most number of mutations in one place - Incorrigible Youths.
Yes, it looks like a half-baked effort of a team Emrakul fan...

Heh, nice way to retcon all of Emrakul, which was retconned already along Ulamog and Kozilek in the Zendikar Artbook, looks like Emrakul now DO alters inorganic matter and also makes stuff to grow eyes and mouths, when the mentioned book clearly stated that the most notorious trait of Emrakul was that it cannot affect non-living matter and that neither the titan nor its spawn had ANY sort of sensory organs or mouths (Grossly contradicted by the supossed clues and stuff)
So basically SoI is a bunch of retcons trying to "fix" the lameness of the Eldrazi shown in OGW, and basically "cheating" the whole Emrakul thing here, because the book, supposed canon said something, just to have said canon disregarded in the next two months.

I still think it is extremely unlikely that it is Emmy.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
This seems kinda obvious that Wizards is pointing towards Emrakul.
My 720 Peasant Cube
Yeah, just ignore the basic biology of the Star-nosed mole. An animal that actually exists on planet Earth.
Hahaha that's the first thing I thought. (And thought that's what the art was based on and never considered that a mutation)
Very obvious its emrakul now though. Guess they felt they had to wrap up the eldrazi. Hopefully we won't see them for many many many blocks to come.
Oh, duh, sorry.

Though it pointed out some details I have not found in the arts yet.
And yeah, the Graf Mole thing was a serious brainfart of him.

Yeah, it has "Emrakul" written all over it so much that it almost convinces me that the answer is not Emrakul.

You've been down this road before, my friend, with Liliana and Eldritch Moon. And that had less evidence.
Be careful.
But Yog don't have tentacles Imao.
I hope its Marit lage, becuz we don't know much about her.

Between this and the clue flavor texts, it seems pretty obvious.
