They have said they won't because hexproof + bestow doesn't play well. They only want keywords that aren't active on aura's. (This is why there won't be a regen one too. This was mentioned in the Chromanticore article IIRC.)

That makes sense. That still leaves the question of what a green eidolon would do if they do make one. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any of the traditional green abilities that aren't already on a bestow creature.

maybe it will be something like... Fortuitous Eidolon: G: Regenerate.
Nope, like Hexproof, Regen can apply to the aura at the same time as the enchanted creature. They don't want that. If they did, Chromanticore would have had Hexproof. (Again, it's in the Chromanticore article)
It needs to be something green that doesn't do that. I'd hope for fight, but I doubt it...

I guess maybe something like: T: Add G to your mana pool.
Because other than that, I honestly cannot see it doing anything else if Hexproof and Regenerate cannot be used due to design decisions.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
I really want a reprint of opt with updated templating to say "Scry 1, draw a card"
I feel like this won't happen because of where the huge set of Preordain, Serum Visions, Ponder, Brainstorm, etc went; sure it's weaker, but I really don't think those cards needed the second Scry most of the time. And which would you prefer? Preordain or Serum Visions style?
I'd love to see the Green Eidolon!! Let's see some Blanchwood Armor!!
For Bestow, I would really like for there to be "G: Regenerate" more so than Hexproof! Regenerate is super good at the moment, and such a low cost would likely bust it for whatever you cast it on.
I hope it's not Bestowable "T: Add one any color mana"; that would be super useless unless it cost 0 to Bestow, but that can't be printed because then it's any color ramp. Even if it cost 0 to Bestow, and was somehow limited to Green players; why not just cast it for the G it will obviously cost? I think anything beyond that will defeat the "New World Order" complexity clause.
I'm expecting to see a much higher percentage of enchantments in JIN. There were more in BotG, and I expect to see that increase again in this release. I would expect to see more Nyxborn creatures in this expansion as well as Global Enchantments (possibly a cycle) that reflect places within Nyx. Where as normal sets have lands representing places in the Nyx I suspect we will have global enchantments (possibly with a new mechanic on them). This reflects the fact that Nyx is an enchantment realm rather than the physical one. I would expect to see creatures that Ajani / Elpseth encounter before going to Nyx or bring with them on their quest, which will give us the smaller percentage of actual non enchantment creatures in the set.
I'm hoping for some enchantment matters cards, but I suspect we won't get any of these.
Other than the Nyx enchantment cycle, I'm thinking that we will get a cycle of lower rarity (uncommon) helper cards to the off colour Gods like we did in BotG.
I think that JIN will have a lot smaller component of old mechanics like bestow and heroic, but that devotion and scry will be strongly present again, I expect to see two new mechanics in the set, one of which will relate to Nyx enchantments in some way. I also expect to see few artefacts in the set - perhaps only Elspeth's and Ajani's weapons if any. Finally I expect to see a few more heroic enablers like we saw in BotG to help round out the strategy for the block. The big question I have is what they will do with the monsters - perhaps bring in a new monster mechanic for Nyxborn monsters..
- What do you think the last five Gods of Theros will do?
I'm particularly interested in Kruphix, since I've been playing blue-green. I suspect that she won't mimic the effects of any of the other big rares in blue-green, so no: scry (Thassa), card draw (Zegana), flash or untap (Prophet of Kruphix), extra lands (Courser of Kruphix). Since the ally-color gods didn't grant static abilities, and since the Archetype creatures covered most of the remaining abilities that the mono-color gods didn't touch, I doubt the enemy-color gods will grant abilities to creatures.
What could she do? Well, she's god of time, but I'm kind of at a loss. Blue did once upon a time print Temporal Spring, but I don't think they'd mimic that ability. Some sort of flicker effect on creatures, perhaps? Or bounce your own creatures to dodge removal and abuse come-into-play effects?
- What other Greek myths are left to be used?
Odysseus and a long journey.
Have we gotten an 'Achilles Heel' card?
Philosophers like Socrates?
Scylla and Charybdis.
Kratos, the God of War.
Xena, Warrior Princess.
Charybdis is Vortex Elemental, confirmed by MaRo. There was a Scylla card, but it did not pass Development. Maybe a version of it will be in JOU.
Greek God of War is Ares. Theros gods of War are Iroas and Mogis, with Mogis getting a lot from Phobos and Deimos. Kratos was just a minor god, personification of power and strength, on par with Nike et al. Iroas has the good parts of Ares with Nike and Kratos mixed in.
There is no Odysseus card so far, and I hope there will be.
Xena? Seriously? I know that they admit to take inspiration from the popular perception of Greek mythology instead of being faithful to source material, but I assume they are not so desperate to use Xena. The most of Xena you get/got is Flamecast Wheel, I suppose.
And no, there has not been an Achilles Heel card. During the speculation season, I suggested an indestructible creature that is sacrificed if exactly 1 damage is dealt to it, and apparently it was so popular that someone used this for a fake card during the BNG spoiler season. I hope we get some reference to Achilles in JOU.

I think all mechanics will return, as Wizards should have known by now to finish the block with the mechanics they started with. They should have learned it thru their mistakes with Kamigawa and Werewolves.
Bestow:
A possible twist is bestow that you may put on your opponent's creatures. A white bestow with defender or a black "cannot block" is very reasonable.
Bestowing triggered abilities is possible; we might get more of Everflame Eidolon. As mentioned earlier, regenerate is a likely candidate, but I imagine it to be even more overcosted. Too bad.
Legendary Enchantment Creatures are possible, to add a new twist to the global enchantments. This is the closest they can get to World enchantments.
(Unrelated thought: they changed the legendary rule but not the World rule, so World enchantments are probably not returning)
We will probably get at least one Enchantment matters card, as a farewell to the set. As speculated multiple times, an Academy Ruins for Enchantments is possible. It could even be Nyx itself.
Devotion appeared only on mana abilities before, and maybe it will appear on activated abilities in JTN.
Heroic will return, but I don't imagine any foreseeable twists around these mechanics.
Scrylands will be completed of course, so we will still see Scry as well.
Inspired and Tribute probably won't be returning, as they are BNG mechanics.
I'd like a card that does something like: "Choose any number of enchantment creatures you control with Bestow. They become auras with Enchant Creature. Attach each to a creature you control."
Nope, like Hexproof, Regen can apply to the aura at the same time as the enchanted creature. They don't want that. If they did, Chromanticore would have had Hexproof. (Again, it's in the Chromanticore article)

They have said they won't because hexproof + bestow doesn't play well. They only want keywords that aren't active on aura's. (This is why there won't be a regen one too. This was mentioned in the Chromanticore article IIRC.)

Indestructible perhaps? Or is that another no-go? Also, I have a few idea for reprints that I'd love to see.
I like the idea of certain spells targeting Bestowed creatures, as in "this happens if a creature is bestowed", etc etc. As for the legends or even historical references, I think a siege engine artifact depicting the Helepolis would be insane. This thing was known as the "city taker", but unfortunately it was destroyed in the Siege of Rhodes.
We already have an allusion to the Colossus of Rhodes--the Colossus of Akros--which was made from the destroyed Helepolis itself, and seeing the Helepolis would be interesting. For JOU I expect some far-out mystical cards as we're venturing into Nyx, the full-out god-plane, so Bestow sure will be there but it should be kicked up a notch.
Just about everything should be more in-depth and powerful, but also balanced and provide adequate combos.
I've been wondering whether we might see some more Muses--since they're originally a Greek mythological element and the original cycle already sort of mimics enchantments like Propaganda and Awakening, so a new cycle as actual enchantment creatures would fit right in.

Or I could see them just making another cycle of enchantment creatures with more enchantment effects again. I really want Sulfuric Vortex, Manabarbs, or Spellshock on a creature. Those would be fun.
i wouldn't mind seeing the "instant" enchantments from mirage block (armor of thorns).
moar gold would be nice, but I do not see it happening.
I am kind of sad that some of the minotaurs you would want for minotaur tribal are reserved listed rares in Homelands...
