In MaRo latest Drive to Work podcast (the one about names, it's one of the better ones, I recommend it) Matt Cavotta (not sure about the spelling), who is part of the team in charge of packaging, talked briefly about something he's working on now: he's going over past artwork to try to find iconic moments (I assume to use on packaging and such) and he's having a bit of a hard time since the artwork on it's own doesn't convey the idea of what's being depicted without the name
I thought it was interesting information
It could be for some kind of supplemental product but it could also be something hinting at a future block: maybe some kind of new take on Time Spiral block (as in using the game's past key moments and/or characters as basis for flavour)
It would be nice if Aux Decks (Planechase, Archenemy, etc) worked from planes we won't revisit, as many of their cards are locked to that plane. Making them unavailable until Core sets get over Hybrid/Gold fear.
From the description in the podcast, it felt more like some sort of book or product that wasn't a physical game. The reason I say this is that Matt was focused on how artwork would be interpreted without the assistance of a card title or rules text.

Planechase 2012 did a good job of this.
Yup, I'm with you on that one. Mark seemed pretty nervous...

A comic about the world's most addictive game, Magic: The Gathering.
