While getting cards signed at GP Toronto, Anthony Palumbo (artist of the new Pithing Needle) was telling a story about how he didn't know when he was assigned the art for Pithing Needle that it was a reprint till he googled it and saw pics of the first version.
I asked him about upcoming work and he said one piece has been released already, it's of a girl in red and white armour mounted on a dragon. He said that the name for the description was Skyknight Legionnaire but that the file names often change before production. I informed him that the name already had been used on a card from the first Ravnica so it was probably a reprint as the art described is the same, and he said he never even bothered to check and that he would google it when he got home.
I can't find the art on the Compilation of Known Info page, so i'm not sure where it has been used or if he was just mistaken.
He didn't know if it was in GTC or DGM. I would assume GTC if it has already been shown in some form somewhere.
Anyway just a small tidbit of info.
Edit:
This might be the piece he was referencing. Not sure if it is his but it could be.
Well, i'm not sure how I feel about this, I liked the original Skyknight Legionnaire, but I don't know if it'd be a reprint, mainly cause I don't recall Boros knights riding dragons. The original Skyknights rode Rocs, and other generic Boros knights rode Griffins and other birdlike-creatures.
I could be wrong, but it could be something else entirely. Have we had any dragon-riding knights in the past Before ravnica?
EDIT: Just saw the pic, that would DEFINATELY pass off as a Skyknight Legionnaire, you can't tell what they're riding though, could just be artwork for an Instant/Sorcery/Enchantment too.
We have seen this art, we have seen mentions to the ranks of the Skyknight Legionnaires in the Guilds of Ravnica mini-site, and yet this is a theory I could believe. I find that is unlikely to see RGD reprints in Gatecrash (Because Return to Ravnica itself), but I'm sure that some players (if not most) would like to see reprints, even if they come late on DGM or GTC, and WotC guys could pull something out for them.
EDIT: I don't know if it is worth mentioning, but Jason Chan also made an art that is a Boros soldier that could be riding a bird-like animal.

Nothing. All I want is Heroes vs. Monsters spoilers.

Yeah i don't think he meant Dragon in the magic sense of huge enormous thing. It is more likely a drake or whatnot, it was just the art description. If you look at the first skyknight it does look dragonish even though it's too small.
Edit: i guess going off the flavour text that they are indeed Roc's they just don't look like other Roc's in magic. Not that there have been a ton.

That's definately a Roc in that Jason Chan Pic, but, since that knight isn't riding it, it could be a modal creature, something like "If you control a creature with Flying, this creature gets flying as well."

I don't think the art in the first post will be a Skyknight; the focus is to far in on the rider, to the exclusion of the mount. The art of a flying creature would be zoomed out more, showing the knight, the steed, and enough background to clearly show that the two are flying in the air.
the p.o.v./perspective of the art in the OP feels more like a non-creature spell, imho. as was mentioned above, it seems zoomed in too close to be typical "creature with flying" art.
Sure sign I've watched too much porno, but the first thing I thought about was in that pose she sure doesn't look like she's straddling a dragon. In fact, you might say she's sitting as if she's riding something else entirely.

The art looks to be cropped from a bigger picture. I can't guarantee that, but the composition is cramped. You can also see dragon(?) wings on the peripherals of the painting.
Although, the art of Wild Beastmaster looks cropped as well, and thats a final card...

I’d like to see the Phyrexians invade the Homelands plane. Once they assimilated the poor design they would be easier for another group to take out.

That's definitely the same things featured in te original Skyknight Legionnaire. I don't know if it will be a reprint though, only because of the fact that they didn't do any multicolored reprints in RTR. Since the Skyknight Legionnaires are a theme though, it doesn't have to be a reprint, technically. It could be a flying boros knight with a different ability and name, yet still be a Skyknight legionnaire.
Of course we can expect art that look like past cards, as we are indeed returning to the same world. In fact, if you look at some of the RTR art, they could pass as reprints of certain Ravnica block cards. Examples would be Siege Wurm or even some guildgates.
As set by RTR, we can expect no reprints from the old block. (Except for generic utility cards like Cremate)

There is buried treasure everywhere...in a graveyard.
We got Cremate. Sadly, Ravnica block was not the first time Cremate was printed, so...
(We also got Dispel, Cancel, and Arrest for other reprints.)
For nostalgic throwbacks, we got Call of the Conclave(-Watchwolf), Sundering Growth(-Sundering Vitae), and Vandalblast(-Shattering Spree).
