For the first time my local shop has draft at 16$ instead of 15$ (for m10) due to m10's popularity, and people always have an eye on soft drafting white for one reason. So my drafts tend towards nonwhite due to people cutting each other off in soft w, not that I can complain. Though there was this one time I got baneslayer pack1pick1, ajani pack3pick1, drafting W/U and still got bent over due to everyone else deciding that weenie rush and godly draws was in for that day.
Now I have to mention, in 5 of the 6 times I have sat down to draft m10, someone pulls a baneslayer. Despite the 1 in 8 per pack for a mythic, 1 in 15 for the mythic to be baneslayer in m10 = 1 in 120 packs where you would normally see one vs 1 in 24 packs in an m10 draft where someone could see one, someone sees a baneslayer. (just sayin'... mythic rarity? pft)
Anyway what I should be saying is that although it's a bit hyped, and although it's pretty good and warps draft a tiny bit, there is plenty of removal for it and no way for it to protect itself from that removal except for its toughness. I see no problem with it returning in m11 since each colour needs some sort of cool "champion" creature to show itself off and baneslayer is just that for white.
It can be removed by general removal, yes, but so can just about any other card. Can you name a 5 CMC card in the current format that is better than Baneslayer? No, you can't, because there isn't one.
Players are going to be pissed if their Baneslayers only last them a year. I would love to see two core sets be payable at the same time. Next summer, standard could include Shard block, Zendikar block, M10, and M11.
Let them be angry. Every one knew going into M10 that each card could only be in standard for a year. This was not a secret. This is why standard should be the "choose your own standard" that is the legal sets are the most recent core set, another core set of your choice (5th and up) and any two blocks from ice age to the present. This would be much better and you would not have to worry about your cards rotating out. Frankly, rotation is why i play legacy. I like the security of knowing that when i spend $100 on a playset It will never rotate. I think it will be funny when BSA rotates because it will drop to 3.00-4.00 and i can use it in my sleeveless cube. Oh, and in case you are wondering i got that $3-4 price from the fact Akroma is legal in extended and is at 5.00 because it sees next to no play. Akroma is better then BSA.
Baneslayer Angel and Halo Hunter make perfect sense as far as their "flavor mechanic" goes. Angels and Demons hate each other. There's even a Duel Decks called "Divine VS Demonic" that is a bunch of Angels and Demons fighting.
I think Baneslayer Angel will be in M11 similar to why Oblivion Ring was in Alara - design has few ideas how to make white good, so when a new white card makes white kick ass, reprint it immediately!
Baneslayer is the problem. She is HEAD & SHOULDERS better than any other 5 casting cost card in the standard game that she ruins the slot. While others will say she's not format warping (play her or against her) I say that it is exactly what we're doing. It isn't good enough to need to kill a Green 4/4 TRAMPLE creature with your doom blade, rather you need to hold BACK the doom blade, take your hits from the 4/4 because the Angel is going to to wreck you. Notice that term the angel and not "an angel". There are several angels at 5 mana. Which sees play? There are several flies at 5 mana. Which sees play. There are soldiers who key up soldier decks at 5 mana, but they are WEAK compared to the angel.
The angel is broken and severely impacts deck design and game play in standard. Heck, maybes she should be the standard bearer for what you get for a lowly WW commitment to a deck and ever other creature needs to come to par. But in the real world of contructed, you need to constant ask at 5 mana and above "Would I rather have the Angel?"
I hope she gets banned from standard.

Well, I don't really play decks that need Baneslayer Angel but decks that are generally bad against her. So I hope they don't reprint it. I'm selfish like that.
I think Baneslayer is a fine piece of design, although I would like to have it cost 6, i think.
Halo Hunter, on the other hand is ridiculously poor design. It's basically a card specifically designed to annoy any casual decks with angels, but is specifically unable to deal with the only angel which will be seeing play. If it read; "when halo hunter comes into play, target player sacrifices an angel", it would be flavourful still, but might actually have a niche use in constucted.
Correction: it would not be flavorful still. When I go to hunt something, I KILL it. I don't make its master slay it by dark manipulative magic. That's the flavor of edicts, and it wouldn't fit really at all.
By the way, Halo Hunter isn't really costed for his Angel-killing ability. He costs 2BBB to be a 6 power black creature with Intimidate. That he might, on some blue moon, kill an Angel, is just gravy. Don't focus on what's missing, focus on what's there.

I too would've been fine with Baneslayer costing 6, or perhaps 2WWW, but I suppose double mana is enough to keep it from being easily splashable anyway (barring absurd mana bases, that is).
I've gotta say, given my reluctance to pay what people are asking for them and lacking trade bait to snag one with what I have on hand, I think I'd like to see it back in m11, just for a shot at getting more. Now that I have most of what I want from m10, I won't be getting any more packs, so barring lucky trades or a massive drop in price, that's about the only way I'd manage to get some more in hand.

Actually, yes I can. Malakir Bloodwitch. People still haven't fully realized how amazing this card is. It's immune to most removal and can't be hurt by opposing Baneslayers. Plus, in a dedicated Vampire deck, it does something the turn you drop it.

It's a 3/5 for 5 mana with flying and give card advantage. If it was 5/5 it would be a monster, the same if it costed 4 mana...
But yeah, I forgot about the other sphinx, it's possibly best but still not good enought to fight the format top fliers, baneslayer and broodmate.
It had to be 5/6. Being able to go face to face with baneslayer and surviving would make it invaluable. And would be fair since it lacks lifelink AND cost one more mana. Not being 6/6 would be fair since it has shroud and all.

This is why we can't have nice things. Baneslayer is perfectly balanced. She's played a lot, but is hardly as backbreaking as Bloodbraid Elf. The main reason people complain is because she's a mythic, and playable, and in a collector's tribe, which makes her pricey.
On top of that, people are always going to complain about expensive cards. We have a whole thread dedicated to this childish whining, REGARDLESS of the fact that Magic always has, and always will have expensive chase rares.
I think it's good for white to develop an iconic finishing creature. Keeping it in just drives M11 prices higher, I don't see why they'd cut her from a business perspective. She's niche playable in extended, and will probably never be a legitimate card outside of 1-2 decks in Legacy (forget vintage).
Comparing her to Goyf shows you just how little you know. About anything.

Why we can't have competent demons and sphinxes or have the many supermassive green fatties simply be given reach (one of green's primary mechanics, go figure) is beyond me.
There's no problem design-wise beyond keeping the game a cash cow.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

I think the design of that dragon is pretty wonky, especially given Red Aggro's creatures tendencies to have power greater than their toughness. It has more a "Mythic in the sense that it does something really new" feel, not a "Mythic because it's ridiculously overpowered" feel, like Baneslayer.
I like the others, but they all have a flavor like the dragon. Baneslayer has a straightforward Spike-y power that these don't.
I think that no matter what, people (albeit different people based on end decision) are going to be unhappy no matter what happens, so it doesn't really matter if they do or not. Personally, I have a strong dislike for it and the fact that it is 50 dollars on SCG right now, amongst other places.

Sphinx of Lost Truths or Sphinx of Jwar Isle? Jwar Isle is badass, although it can't kill BSA. Lost Truths is pro-card advantage, but not that great body-wise.
