Last week I talked all about Rise of the Eldrazi. While I explained our rationale for what we're doing and spilled a bit about the challenges that had to be met, I stopped short of telling you what's going to be in the set. I got a little mail from some readers who hoped I could give at least a little information. Okay, okay. I don't want it to be said that I don't listen to my readers. What I am going to do is spend one paragraph telling you exactly what Rise of Eldrazi is up to, but I'm limiting myself to just one paragraph. Also, to keep in theme for this week's column, I am going to replace numerous words in my paragraph with the word "goblin."
Click here to see the paragraph.
Goblin of the Goblins is going to be a goblin built around the Goblin goblins, all of which have no goblin and are goblin. For example, there are two Goblins at goblin, the goblin of which is 7/7. All of the Goblins have a new goblin called goblin. Goblins with goblin have a goblin; whenever a goblin with goblin goblins, the goblin goblin must goblin that many goblins. The Goblins are very goblin but there are goblins that can create 0/1 goblins called Goblin Goblin that can be goblin to goblin one goblin goblin to your goblin goblin and will help you be able to goblin the Goblins. In addition, the goblin has a new goblin called goblin goblin. You may spend goblin on goblin with goblin goblin to improve their goblins and goblins. This Limited goblin is much goblin than the one in Goblin.
Without the word goblin:
of the s is going to be a built around the s, all of which have no and are . For example, there are two s at , the of which is 7/7. All of the s have a new called . s with have a ; whenever a with s, the must that many s. The s are very but there are s that can create 0/1 s called that can be to one to your and will help you be able to the s. In addition, the has a new called . You may spend on with to improve their s and s. This Limited is much than the one in .
??? of the ???s is going to be a ??? built around the ??? ???s, all of which have no ??? and are ???. For example, there are two ???s at ???, the ??? of which is 7/7. All of the ???s have a new ??? called ???. ???s with ??? have a ???; whenever a ??? with ??? ???s, the ??? ??? must ??? that many ???s. The ???s are very ??? but there are ???s that can create 0/1 ???s called ??? ??? that can be ??? to ??? one ??? ??? to your ??? ??? and will help you be able to ??? the ???s. In addition, the ??? has a new ??? called ??? ???. You may spend ??? on ??? with ??? ??? to improve their ???s and ???s. This Limited ??? is much ??? than the one in ???.
I fixed the quote, doesn't say too much, but still interesting.
Rise of the Eldrazi is going to be a set built around the Goblin goblins, all of which have no goblin and are goblin. For example, there are two Goblins at goblin, the goblin of which is 7/7. All of the Goblins have a new ability called goblin. Goblins with goblin have a goblin; whenever a goblin with goblin goblins, the goblin goblin must goblin that many goblins. The Goblins are very goblin but there are goblins that can create 0/1 creature tokens called Goblin Goblin that can be goblin to goblin one goblin goblin to your goblin goblin and will help you be able to goblin the Goblins. In addition, the goblin has a new goblin called goblin goblin. You may spend goblin on goblin with goblin goblin to improve their goblins and goblins. This Limited goblin is much goblin than the one in Goblin.
Oh good lord, this can even be taken to mean contraptions are coming.

"Goblin of the Goblins is going to be a goblin built around the Goblin goblins, all of which have no goblin and are goblin."
Rise of the Eldrazi is going to be a set built around the Eldrazi contraptions, all of which have no abilities and artifacts.
"All of the Goblins have a new goblin called goblin. Goblins with goblin have a goblin; whenever a goblin with goblin goblins, the goblin goblin must goblin that many goblins."
All of the Eldrazi have a new ability called assemble. Eldrazi with assemble have a contraption; whenever a creature with assemble assembles, the activated creature must assemble that many contraptions."
It also fits with the complete crazy nature of the set we've been told about. I do think though, that even if this is true we won't see a reprint of steamflogger boss as it wouldn't seem to fit for flavor reasons.
My best guesses before and after - there is actually a lot you can work out, I think.
In addition, the goblin has a new goblin called goblin goblin. You may spend goblin on goblin with goblin goblin to improve their goblins and goblins. This Limited goblin is much goblin than the one in Goblin.
Rise of the Eldrazi is going to be a set built around the Eldrazi titans, all of which have no (colour? mana cost?) and are (artifacts? fatties?). For example, there are two Eldrazi at (some cost), the (smaller?) of which is 7/7. All of the Eldrazi have a new (keyword) called (*). (Creatures) with (*) have a (?); whenever a creature with (*) (?), the (creature's controller?) must (sacrifice/gain/discard/lose?) that many (cards/life/pairs of pants?). The Eldrazi are very (greedy? expensive?) but there are creatures that can create 0/1 creatures called (?) (?) that can be (sacrificed?) to (guess: add one (x) mana to your mana pool?) and will you to (cast?) the Eldrazi. In addition, the set has a new (card?) called (some two word name). You may spend (mana?) on (creatures?) with (brood lineage?) to improve their power and toughness. The limited environment is much (slower?) than the one in (Zendikar?)
stuff in brackets is guesses; I'd bet on the rest (which, frankly, is that all the non-start-of-sentence capital G Goblins is 'Eldrazi').
I think it has something to do with colorless spells without a casting cost that instead require some alternate resource (such as 0/1 tokens). Or something to that effect. After "In addition..." it seems to be describing a new ability that maybe is expanding on the function of Kicker (though we already have Multikicker in Worldwake, so maybe not.)
Let's give it a shot: Rise of the Eldrazi s is going to be a set built around the Eldrazis, all of which have no color and are creatures. For example, there are two Eldrazis at mana cost , the bigger/smaller of which is 7/7. All of the Eldrazis have a new ability called keyword. Creatures with keyword have a triggered ability; whenever a creature with keywordconditions, the defending player must sacrifice that many creatures. The Eldrazis are very expensive but there are ones that can create 0/1 tokens called Brood Lineage that can be sacrificed to add one mana to your mana pool and will help you be able to cast the Eldrazis. In addition, the Brood Lineage has a new keyword called multikick 2 . You may spend extra on the Brood Lineage with resource to improve their powers and toughnesses. This Limited version of multikick is much cheaper than the one in Worldwake.
Rise of the Eldrazi is going to be a set built around the Eldrazi Titans, all of which have no cmc and are colorless. For example, there are two Eldrazi Titans at ##/##, the smallest of which is 7/7. All of the Eldrazi Titans have a new mechanic called [awesome blast]. Eldrazi Titans with [awesome blast] have a ???; whenever a ??? with ??? ???s, the titan's controller must sac that many permanents. The Eldrazi Titans are very large but there are Eldrazi Titans that can create 0/1 tolkens called swarm dudes that can be sacced to add one colored mana to your mana pool and will help you be able to summon the Eldrazi Titans. In addition, the set has a new card called [jeebus]. You may spend X on Eldrazi Titans with [ability2] to improve their swarm dudes and themselves. This Limited environment is much better than the one in Alara Reborn.
Im guessing a cmc of zero, but needing to sac permanents to play. Sounds a little like Yugioh.

If you really want to figure this out, I think one of the first things you should do is figure out which part of speech each goblin word is. I think that once you do that, it could be much easier to then figure out what Maro was trying to say. Ok, here is a first attempt.
Rise of the Eldrazi is going to be a NOUN built around the ADJECTIVE NOUN, all of which have no NOUN and are ADJECTIVE. For example, there are two NOUN at NOUN, the NOUN of which is 7/7. All of the NOUN have a new NOUN called NOUN. NOUN with NOUN have a NOUN; whenever a NOUN with ADJECTIVE NOUN, the ADJECTIVE NOUN must VERB that many NOUN. The NOUN are ADJECTIVE but there are NOUN that can create 0/1 NOUN called ADJECTIVE NOUN that can be VERB to NOUN one ADJECTIVE NOUN to your ADJECTIVE NOUN and will help you be able to VERB the NOUN. In addition, the NOUN, has a new NOUN called ADJECTIVE NOUN. You may spend NOUN on NOUN with ADJECTIVE NOUN to improve their NOUN and NOUN. This Limited NOUN is much ADJECTIVE than the one in NOUN.
Please note that this is my first guess after just scanning it through. I will try to fill in some blanks in another post. What do you all think?
I'd guess the bit about "two Goblins at goblin, the goblin of which is 7/7" is probably "two Eldrazi at common, the larger of which is 7/7". No speculation on the mechanic from here, though I do like the concept that you have to make tokens and sacrifice them to cast the Eldrazi; that makes sense given their Monument.
(Creatures) with (*) have a (?); whenever a creature with (*) (?), the (creature's controller?) must (sacrifice/gain/discard/lose?) that many (cards/life/pairs of pants?).
I am now going to be disappointed with all of ROE as none of the cards will require a loss of pants. For shame. :*(
Seriously though there are so many different x's that could fit in the y's I think its pointless to try to speculate on that paragraph at this time.

Hm, I read the "two ? at ?" as "at [rarity]" rather than at "at [mana cost]" - especially as the former is more easily one word. "At common" seems to make the most sense.

PS: Can we merge this with the thread in speculation?
I think, on reflection, that
(Creatures) with (*) have a (?); whenever a creature with (*) (?), the (creature's controller?) must (sacrifice/gain/discard/lose?) that many (cards/life/pairs of pants?).
is most likely to involve sacrificing creatures; it makes the most sense with the cthulu-esque horrors. And agree with whoever it was that 'whenever a creature with (keyword) (?) is probably something like 'assemble assembles' only without the whole assembling contraptions part.
First words aren't Rise of the Eldrazi. Look at the s after the second blank. Guess:
One of the mechanics is going to be a [blank]...
Makes more sense.
I think the "s" just means that the word is plural. I believe that Eldrazi is both singular and plural, so Eldrazi could be used in the first blank. But that is just my guess.

Time to fill in the blanks!

EDIT: Darn it... Can't get the spaces to stay...
All I can think of is Rise, Eldrazi, set in that order for the first three.
Very messy way to put that, cleaned it up.
