Hey just was wondering, is this an out of season April Fool's joke?
As someone who has 6 years and thousands of dollars invested in Commander, I can assure you that I'm not joking in the slightest when I say that this card is absolute trash in commander. Sure, Commander is a casual format which encompasses many different playgroups with many different play styles and skill levels and such, and I'm sure that plenty of people will try very hard to make this card work. I'm also just as sure that very many of them will end up being very disappointed when it gets repeatedly countered and removed, at which point they realize that casting this card is roughly equivalent to Time Walking themselves. In a multiplayer format in which a turn cycle can easily take half an hour on average in the late game, that's gonna turn quite a lot of people off to this card.
So, no. Saying this card is unplayable in Commander is not a joke.
Holy cow. I can totally cast this in my Esper Control standard build after the game is in control, tap Nazhal or Construct tokens to crew it and MAKE ANGELS FOR GREAT JUSTICE.
Yessssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Watchwolf, our CMDR group has a Locus God deck, a Lazav Mill deck, my jank Jasmine Boreal deck and whatever else other people have. It's not beyond belief this could take over a game and win at some point.
Of course this will never succeed in a cEDH environment, but it's fine in a kitchen table setting.

It is a good thing you called this out. I was ready to just ignore your comments because I didn't think you spent nearly enough on Magic to have any idea of what is good, but now that I know you spend "thousands" I know you are an authority on all things EDH /s
How much you spend on this game is a ridiculous metric upon which to claim authority or knowledge of the format.
This card doesn't have to be great. This card doesn't have to be an efficient use of mana. This card doesn't have to win games on its own. Vorthoses like cards that deal with the story. Johnnys like trying to make things work. Timmys like big splashy spells. It doesn't really matter why someone would want to play this card. It has its uses and it has its audience. It may not be ideal for a number of reasons but outright claiming it is trash in one of the formats that cares the least about overall efficiency and instead cares more about being able to make things work or building fun, out of the box decks over solely winning seems like you don't know as much about EDH as you claim to. Everyone plays for a different reason and you not liking the card doesn't make it unplayable for others.
I understand where others may like this card and, when this thing really gets going in a game, I can see where it can be a force to be reckoned with. It does seem like an exciting card and can appeal to a number of different types of players and there are likely a number of decks it can fit into as a curve topper.

qft. I'm always down to see displays of hubris being rightfully called out.
As a person who plays EDH and enjoys face-beating angel factories, I approve of this card.

you are not that far off. Parhelion was supposed to be a flying planeswalking ship, but it went horribly wrong when Razia and the angels tried to leave Ravnica.
Never hate on an edh players pet card. I did that once and had to leave the play group because of the salt. Just let them have their fantasy. It's not worth it.

8 mana for THIRTEEN POWER on the board off the first swing?
That's what I thought at first, but you have to substract 4 power for crewing it, but so it's just effective 9 power on the first swing... and then each swing gets you 8 more. Which is not lame, but definitely worth considering.
After seeing the monocolored red tank I was already wondering whether they will actually make this a red-white Vehicle or just monocolored. It's definitely worthy of a legendary Vehicle even if eight mana preclude it from competitive play.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

6 years? rookie, I have been playing 19 years, 10 commander, and this will see play, because people play different kind of power level in the format, and even in a more semicompetitive enviroment, a dedicated artifact deck can support it. Sure its not meant for competitive play, but you are quite ignorant if you think that people don't play jank decks pods on purpose.
You can crew with a creature with summoning sickness aka just played one... So no, you don't have to lose 4+ power at the first swing.
Good point. And one I constantly forget when evaluating Vehicles. Especially cheap ones seem only "fair" until they effectively work as haste-granting Equipment all game.
As an aside this is a stealth card to also play with the power 4 or greater theme we've been seeing.

@ least this should have Indestructible instead of Firststrike. It comes down, does nothin & when crewed to attack, too much work has been ruined when destroyed.
I know i come along with the Dies to removal-argument, but an 8 mana card this iconic (!) shouldn't be dealt with 1 mana-spells

On the other hand, if you are running this without some ways to protect or recur it, you're doing something wrong.
In current standard it's not unreasonable to play this on T4 with the right ramp. New Nissa allows you to cast this off of 2x [crd[Temple Garden[/card] and 2x forest. Thran Temporal Gateway on 3 off of an acceleratant on T2 works just fine (t2 Fblthp into Mox amulet can anyone?) I do get that these are fairly fragile plans but as a reward for creative deck building, you could get worse cards.

It actually reminds me of the opening scene of Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, when the buildings were fighting each other like naval combat, file cabinet cannons and all.

I like the card, but to be fair, I would have rather have had a nine or ten mana version which had Skysovereign text which triggers ETB or attacks.
EDH only, but flicker can be fun and instant value.

Seems good.
But who would crew it?
