Repeatable discard for cheap is very powerful. Even if you are forcing yourself to discard down as well you are being strategic about it. 3 mana repeatable discard is darn good. Offing a creature every now and again? Darn good. Her ultimate like 99% of all ultimates should not be the goal. Repeatable discard and edicts attached to a 3 drop walker are good. Ignoring the whole this is a flashback block, forcing your opponent to be stripped of cards so early is just great, even if you are losing cards yourself. If this were an artifact that tapped for the same effect it would see play. It is attached to playable planeswalker. She will see play.
I love coming here when a new card is revealed. The majority of you are so bad at card evaluation it is hilarious.
Liliana is a continuous source of hand disruption, non-targeted creature removal, and potential for a blow-out of an opponents board. Here's a hint guys: when a card has a low cost and has three "okay" abilities that give you versatility and a choice in which to use that means the card is excellent.
gentlemen, note that it says permanents on the ultimate, not just creatures. give them a choice between creatures and lands. either Plague Winds or a one sided Armageddon. life seems sweet for the black players

With regards to Liliana, obviously her -2 is solid and her ultimate is good, but the playability of the card will ultimately come down to 'how can we abuse her +1". If there's a couple of targets (things like Vengeful Pharaoh) that benefit significantly from being in the yard, then she'll see play.
At 3 CMC though, consider my interest piqued.
Fiend Hunter is interesting. Obviously extremely playable in limited. Dunno about constructed. Should be good for tempo play, but long term, I feel like I'd rather have the O-ring in that slot.
And as for the werewolf, well, that's the first one I've seen that looks vaguely constructed playable. The evasion that she gives in wolf form is punishing as all hell. I can just imagine a t2 Mayor, t3 her, t4 swing for a ton. Maybe R/G will be able to get there after all.

I write a blog. It covers Magic, DnD, and a ton of other nerdy stuff! It can be found here:
Hope you enjoy it!
ATM the Liliana is kinda disappointing. She's good costed, but her abilities kinda... suck. From the looks of things, you can't do any let's decrease cost with flashback yet, and saccing creatures has only a few uses. She might be good in B/U control, if pair with smallpox, but then again it's smallpox doing the job.
It is cool that (unless there end up being some cards that get really disgustingly powerful in you get them into your graveyard) Lilliana isn't a Planeswalker who immediately touches off the "Planewalker Subgame". Where the opponent of the player who just casted the Planeswalker instantly swings into a "destroy-the-Planeswalker-across-from-me-at-all-costs-mode." Of course, a bad, reactionary (a nice synonym for stupid) player will fall into berserk status over Lilliana anyways, but it is guilty sort of fun watching a human being in action who is about as intelligent as a Diablo II computer-controlled enemy.
EDIT: ah, what am I saying: she is. You have to stop the Edicting. You can't win with creatures through the Edicting.
well, i need her for mimeoplasm... i have a feeling she's going to be awesome. her -2 is good enough. we'll see how good her +1 gets. smallpox, inkmoth and lashwrithe seem like a good enough place to start... maybe a reasonable way to get a skittles out of the 'yard quickly?
Now that is what I want to see from a werewolf. A decent creature untransformed and a damn good one when actually transformed. Not to mention this particular werewolf is female which is interesting. That wolf really does pack a wallop

Yes, making your opponents discard every turn or sacrifice a creature is terrible.

Her sac creature is -2. She is going to get roflstomped afterward. Also YOU discard a card as well. But if your going for Suicide black then I guess it doesn't matter to you.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
My interest is in the Kruin Outlaw as I am going to make a werewolf deck. I think she is a very powerful werewolf being able to turn all your werewolves into stormblood berskers is pretty disgusting. And her human form is not bad either especially with a Mayor on the field.
My only negative reaction to it is that she has 2 red in her mana cost. But other than that, she could be quite good.
You definately are not going to have to over extend with werewolves which is very good becuase if you did they would never stay in they're werewolf form.

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
Lillian is really interesting if any good flashback spell are spoiled. And I definitely see her being playable in a block that has a semi-focus on graveyards.

Lilliana's right up there with Jace Beleren I think. A really solid 3-drop that love the Sun Titan. I don't think she's going to be anything outrageous, but she definitely looks really playable. My only real complaint is that just as she becomes legal, all the cards who would be her best friends (Vengevine, Bloodghast, Grim Discovery) rotate. At least there's still Glissa, The Traitor and Sun Titan for some G/W/B Junk Rock fun, and we even have dual lands for it now. Fiend Hunter seems to fit really well in that deck too.

But I don't want to have to buy new sleeves.
I really want to see the werewolf legend to see what EDH shenanigans I could pull.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)

Liliana of the Veil is kind of strange - I can see both the +1 and the -6 being useful, but having both of them on the same card seems...odd.
