The LINE for Dragons and Exiled worked just peachy. No one got trampled and people lined up progressively EARLIER each morning. I managed to get 4 both years.
The ticket nonsense last year got people trampled, lights busted and was just in general a stupid idea. And you could walk around all day long and buy the tickets (old FTV cards) from vendors and just go buy yourself one for twice the price. It was stupid. I managed to get 3 last year.
LINES work. Some people don't like them cause they involve you waiting and being patient - but oh well.
Don't even get me started on how unfair the ticket nonsense was to anyone in a wheelchair last year..... We brought it up to the WotC folks and the response was basically a shrug and "Oh, we hadn't considered that"
I've been to GenCon the last 4 years and was able to get a Dragons and Relics but didn't want to spend half my Con in line to get one for Exiled. The lines were terrible too. I'm already spending $70 to be there, I'd rather play in events than waste a day standing in line.
The way that WOTC has handled this entire thing over the 3 years has been a disgrace. There is supposed to be a limit of one per person per show, yet all of the dealers send out runners to try to get as many as they can so they can break them down and sell the singles at the show.
The only "Fair" way to handle this is for them to do drawings. They should give everyone a ticket for every event they register for at the Con. If you play in more events, you have more chances to win. If they fill out the ticket with their name and DCI number and turn it in by a certain time each day, they will be entered into the drawing for that day. This way, they encourage people actually signing up for events and people don't have to waste time in lines or being trampled. Any that are unclaimed by midnight go into the next days drawing. It doesn't guarantee that everyone that wants one gets one but then again, neither does the process now.

If it's supposed to be one per person per show, why not just have them give you a ticket when you enter the show and submit your entry ticket to get the badge or whatever? That way every person who paid for the show gets the ability to buy and has a ticket the second they enter... No muss, no fuss.
Or allow people to submit tickets by mail and receive the product later on.

Because they only give away 100 per day...so 400 per show.
Stuff like last year's fiasco is so frustrating because any moron (except those on WotC's staff, apparently) could easily see what was going to happen with the method they chose. They just wanted to get a rise over teasing people, safety be damned.

I remember @ 09 Gen Con I was just standing waiting for my friends to arrive and I was told not to cut in front of people because apparently that was the line they were handing out the tickets for the FTV. I was like whatever. It made for a bad experience. I say they should just limit 1 per attendee and have like 1000 on hand. First come first serve till they are gone. But whatevs.

I just want people who redraft to admit this:
"I can't draft objectively unless I am able to guarantee that I receive at least 3 rares. I am also better than most average/new players so I want to make sure that I get the best rares and they end up with worse ones. I care more about the monetary value of cards than actually playing the game for decent prizes."
That new Teferi art is hilarious. Denzel Washington wizard all up in the mountains and shiz.

I know while doubtful since reprint policy but I kind of wish Sliver Queen was in this. 1 for her being the very first 5 color card made (outside of the 1996 Champion). I have a play set of Sliver Queens. 1 Altered Art by an artist, 1 Signed, and 2 plain. But outside of that is there been any others announced but Teferi speculation?
What's keeping them from putting Troll Ascetic in M12. He's not all that beast right now, but still a quality card.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
thrun might be M12 fodder they're going to need green fatties and they're going to want to show off hexproof in M12.
When's the last time they reprinted any mythic rare excluding the planeswalkers and Baneslayer Angel? Mythics generally do not get reprinted outside of promotional decks, especially if they're legendary. Thrun will definitely NOT be in M12.

I don't believe Thrun will be reprinted, but don't forget about Platinum Angel...
Man, every time I see this thread bumped and there's nothing new in it, I get a little more bummed.

I agree. Troll Ascetic is just a fun card, even if he's under the curve by today's standards. Plus, I think he really needs new art (The old art is just rather odd looking). If they're going to reprint cards, they should reprint cards that are classic to Magic.
Thank you so much mchief111 for the amazing art!

I'd like to see them lower it to uncommon, like they've done with other cards, i don't think it would be too powerful at uncommon.

Did not people say the same about Serra? I am fine with Troll being uncommon, but it would most likely be a rare, and a powerful rare it is.
Not really, People were all like "Well that's nice, she hasn't really been a good creature since 1997."
Also, Troll has too many abilities to be uncommon, and multiple trolls in limited would be too sick.
