Must have some of these.... Hell if Nick said he's gonna have 16 of em at the Philly Open thats just one more incentive to go to a Tourney I was already definitely going to!
Now I just gotta come up with the cash for a few of these bad boys!
Please, accept that Magic costs money to play, and drop it. A playset of Baneslayers>playset of duals. New Jace>Force of Will. Etc... Not to mention, Legacy is so wide open, that it's easy to build a deck that can perform reasonably well without very many "money staples" at all.
I beleive that nostalgia is the only thing going for the old frames. In terms of legibility, clarity, etc., the new ones trump the old ones in every way.

And on topic, I would love one of these for Cube.
Or artistic preference. If you want to argue about legibility and clarity alone, you might as well get rid of the image and flavor text in favor of having more space for reminder text and information, while at the same time avoiding any confusion flavor text or image may provide in regards to what the card does.
Honestly, I never had an issue with legibility, clarity, etc, with the old frame. If anything the new frame had more issues with it originally as white and artifact frames looked far to similar and so forth.
I just prefer the old frame on artistic feel and preference. Though I do admit there is a bit of nostalgia involved.
I wish they used the portal art instead. hahaha. Just kidding. But it would have sweet to see some alt art.
And you guys should probably stop arguing about the frames or this thread will get closed.
Haha! I love that you were attentive enough to catch Glimmervoid, but not to catch that the subject of the photo is totally not a dude.

In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
I am a fan of the older frame, but only on black-bordered black cards. It just looks so astonishing, especially if the card in question has excellent art like the Mirage Dark Ritual or Hymn to Tourach (fallen empires #15).
Another Card to try and get signed by Terese Nielsen, Awesomeness.
A Judge foil Dreadnought would be quite cool. So the new judge foils this time around would be around the Mirage block. Time for folks to star hoping for a dci Lions-eye-diamond
A friend of mine (L3 Judge) told me that Phyrexian Dreadnought would be appearing as a judge foil as well. I guess that's the other one then, or is that new information for you guys?
Grtz
There isn't any backup for this statement.
The story as I was told as a judge at Madrid was that, due to some printing / human errors, the second foil wasn't ready in time. It'll be retroactively mailed to all judges from both tournaments when it's ready.

I was at the SCG 5k this weekend and saw the Phyrexian Dreadnought promo handed out to some of the judges there. Let me just go on record as saying it is GORGEOUS.
I heard the same story as well; that they were erroneously left out of the judge packs for PT: San Diego.

Have a helicopter drop you off out front. Light your cigar with a small Indonesian boy holding a black lotus. Then bust out a craw wurm deck with no sleeves. Raw dog shuffle, loose terribly, flip the table, leave in a hovercraft.
It seems like Wizard's decision on whether to get new art for a card is completely arbituary. On the bright side, NO's art is not bad to begin with.
The usual rule is that the card gets new art if it had already been available as a foil (e.g. Wishes), and stays with the old art if it is foil for the first time.
The fetches were a noted exception, as they were already pretty cool and they did more cards in 2009 than usual (so that they could knock out the whole set).
New judge foils normally premier at the Pro Tour. The Dreadnought (now confirmed) did not due to a screw-up / printing problem.

Wow, this card is goregous. Terese Nielsen's handling of the subject is great. I think it looks better on the new frame than he old frame. Makes me want to put one of these things into my cube. (looks through his collection for his old Natural Order)

Sorry to post on a dead thread but why is Natural Order Number 2 and Phyrexian Dreadnought number 3 for 2010... is it a mess up or just how things are done?

Actually both frames have an equal amount of similarity to Pokemon cards...
Picture frame: Both.
Top Bar (Mana cost etc.): Old Frame.
Creature Type: New Frame.
Ability box: Neither.
